Sucedió que en el año treinta, al quinto día del cuarto mes, estando yo entre los desterrados junto al río Quebar, los cielos se abrieron y vi visiones¹ de Dios^a. 2 (En aquel día cinco del mes, en el quinto año del destierro del rey Joaquín^a, 3 la palabra del SEÑOR fue dirigida al sacerdote Ezequiel^a, hijo de Buzi, en la tierra de los caldeos^b junto al río Quebar; y allí vino sobre él la mano del SEÑOR^c.)

4 Miré, y he aquí que un viento huracanado venía del norte, una gran nube con fuego fulgurante^a y un resplandor a su alrededor, y en su centro, algo como metal refulgente en medio del fuego^b. 5 En su centro había figuras semejantes a cuatro seres vivientes^a. Y este era su aspecto: tenían forma humana^b. 6 Tenía cada uno cuatro caras, y cuatro alas cada uno de ellos^a. 7 Sus piernas eran rectas, y la planta de sus pies era como la planta de la pezuña del ternero, y brillaban como bronce bruñido^a. 8 Bajo sus alas, a sus cuatro lados^a, tenían manos humanas. En cuanto a las caras y a las alas de los cuatro^b, 9 sus alas se tocaban una a la otra y sus caras no se volvían cuando andaban^a; cada uno iba de frente hacia adelante^b. 10 Y la forma de sus caras era como la cara de un hombre^a; los cuatro tenían cara de león a la derecha y cara de toro a la izquierda, y los cuatro tenían cara de águila^b; 11 así eran sus caras. Sus alas se extendían por encima; con dos se tocaban uno a otro y con dos cubrían su cuerpo^a. 12 Y cada uno iba de frente hacia adelante; adondequiera que iba el espíritu, iban ellos, sin volverse cuando andaban^a. 13 En medio¹ de los seres vivientes había algo que parecía² carbones encendidos en llamas, como³ antorchas que se lanzaban de un lado a otro entre los seres vivientes. El fuego resplandecía, y del fuego salían rayos^a. 14 Y los seres vivientes corrían de un lado a otro^a como el fulgor¹ del relámpago^b.

15 ^aMiré a los seres vivientes, y he aquí, había una rueda en la tierra junto a cada uno de los seres vivientes de¹ cuatro caras. 16 El aspecto de las ruedas y su hechura era como el brillo¹ del crisólito^2a, y las cuatro tenían la misma forma; su aspecto y su hechura eran como si una³ rueda estuviera dentro de la otra rueda^b. 17 Cuando andaban, se movían¹ en las cuatro direcciones², sin volverse cuando andaban^a. 18 Sus aros eran altos e imponentes, y los aros de las cuatro estaban llenos de ojos alrededor^a. 19 Y cuando los seres vivientes andaban, las ruedas se movían¹ con ellos. Y cuando los seres vivientes se levantaban de la tierra, las ruedas también se levantaban^a. 20 Y adondequiera que iba el espíritu, iban ellos en esa dirección¹. Y las ruedas se levantaban juntamente con ellos^a; porque el espíritu de los seres vivientes² estaba en las ruedas. 21 Cuando ellos andaban, andaban ellas, y cuando ellos se detenían, se detenían ellas. Y cuando ellos se levantaban de la tierra, las ruedas se levantaban juntamente con ellos, porque el espíritu de los seres vivientes¹ estaba en las ruedas^a.

22 Sobre las cabezas de los seres vivientes¹ había algo semejante a un firmamento con el brillo deslumbrante de un cristal², extendido por encima de sus cabezas^a. 23 Y debajo del firmamento sus alas se extendían derechas, la una hacia la otra; cada uno tenía dos que cubrían sus cuerpos^a por un lado y¹ por el otro. 24 Y oí el ruido de sus alas cuando andaban, como el estruendo de muchas aguas^a, como la voz del Todopoderoso^1b, un ruido de tumulto como el ruido de un campamento militar^c; cuando se detenían, bajaban sus alas. 25 También hubo un ruido por encima del firmamento que había sobre sus cabezas^a; cuando se detenían, bajaban sus alas.

26 Y sobre el firmamento que estaba por encima de sus cabezas^a había algo semejante a un trono^b, de aspecto como de piedra de zafiro^c; y en lo que se asemejaba a un trono, sobre él, en lo más alto, había una figura con apariencia de hombre^d. 27 Entonces vi en lo que parecían sus lomos y hacia arriba, algo como metal refulgente que lucía como fuego dentro de ella en derredor, y en lo que parecían sus lomos y hacia abajo vi algo como fuego, y había un resplandor a su alrededor^a. 28 Como el aspecto del arco iris que aparece¹ en las nubes en un día lluvioso, así era el aspecto del resplandor en derredor^a. Tal era el aspecto de la semejanza de la gloria del SEÑOR^b. Cuando lo vi, caí rostro en tierra y oí una voz que hablaba^c.

Now it came about in the thirtieth year, on the fifth day of the fourth month, while I was by the ^ariver Chebar among the exiles, the ^bheavens were opened and I saw ^1cvisions of God. 2 (On the fifth of the month ¹in the ^afifth year of King Jehoiachin’s exile, 3 the ^aword of the LORD came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, son of Buzi, in the ^bland of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and there ^cthe hand of the LORD came upon him.)

4 As I looked, behold, a ^ahigh wind was coming from the north, a great cloud with fire flashing intermittently and a bright light around it, and in its midst something like ^bgleaming ¹metal in the midst of the fire. 5 And within it there were figures resembling ^afour living beings. And this was their appearance: they had human ^bform. 6 Each of them had ^afour faces and ^bfour wings. 7 Their legs were straight and ¹their feet were like a calf’s ²hoof, and they sparkled like ^apolished bronze. 8 Under their wings on their ^afour sides were human ^bhands. As for the faces and wings of the four of them, 9 their wings touched one another; their faces did ^anot turn when they moved, each ^bwent straight forward. 10 As for the ^aform of their faces, each had a human ^bface; ¹all four had the face of a lion on the right and the face of a bull on the left, and ²all four had the face of an eagle. 11 Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above; each had two touching another being, and ^atwo covering their bodies. 12 And ^aeach went straight forward; ^bwherever the spirit was about to go, they would go, without turning as they went. 13 ¹In the midst of the living beings there was something that looked like burning coals of ^afire, ²like torches moving among the living beings. The fire was bright, and lightning was ³flashing from the fire. 14 And the living beings ^aran back and forth like bolts of ^blightning.

15 Now as I looked at the living beings, behold, there was one ^awheel on the ground beside the living beings, for ¹each of the four of them. 16 The ^aappearance of the wheels and their workmanship was like ¹sparkling ^btopaz, and all four of them had the same form, their appearance and workmanship being as if ²one wheel were within another. 17 Whenever they ¹moved, they ²moved in any of their four ³directions without ^aturning as they ⁴moved. 18 As for their rims, they were high and awesome, and the rims of all four of them were ^1acovered with eyes all around. 19 ^aWhenever the living beings ¹moved, the wheels ²moved with them. And whenever the living beings ^brose from the earth, the wheels rose also. 20 ^aWherever the spirit was about to go, they would go in that direction¹. And the wheels rose just as they did; for the spirit of the living ²beings was in the wheels. 21 ^aWhenever those went, they went; and whenever those stopped, they stopped. And whenever those rose from the earth, the wheels rose just as they did; for the spirit of the living ¹beings was in the wheels.

22 Now ^aover the heads of the living ¹beings there was something like an expanse, like the awesome gleam of crystal, spread out over their heads. 23 Under the expanse their wings were stretched out straight, one toward the other; each one also had ^atwo wings covering its body on the one side and on the other. 24 And I also heard the sound of their wings, like the ^asound of abundant waters as they went, like the ^bvoice of ¹the Almighty, a sound of a crowd like the ^csound of an army camp; whenever they stopped, they let down their wings. 25 And a voice came from above the ^aexpanse that was over their heads; whenever they stood still, they let down their wings.

26 Now ^aabove the expanse that was over their heads there was something ^bresembling a throne, like ^1clapis lazuli in appearance; and on that which resembled a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a ^dman. 27 Then I ¹noticed from the appearance of His waist and upward something ^alike gleaming ²metal that looked like fire all around within it, and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw something like fire; and there was a radiance around Him. 28 Like the appearance of the ^arainbow ¹in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the ^bglory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I ^cfell on my face and heard a voice speaking.

Now it came about when I was in my ¹thirtieth year of life, on the fifth day of the fourth month, while I was among the exiles beside the ^aRiver Chebar in Babylonia, the ^bheavens were opened and I saw ^cvisions of God. 2 (On the fifth of the month, which was in the ^afifth year of ¹King Jehoiachin’s captivity, 2+@Kin 24:12-14 3 the ^aword of the LORD came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the ^bland of the ¹Chaldeans by the River ²Chebar; and ^cthe hand of the LORD came upon him there.) 1+@Kin 18:46; 2+@Kin 3:15

4 As I looked, I saw a ^astormy wind coming out of the north, a great cloud with fire flashing continually from it; and a brightness was around it, and in its core there was ^bsomething like glowing amber-colored metal in the midst of the fire. 5 Within it there were figures resembling ^1afour living beings. And this was their appearance: they had human ^bform. 6 Each one had ^afour faces and ^bfour wings. 7 Their legs were straight and the soles of their feet were like a calf’s hoof, and they sparkled and gleamed like ^ashiny bronze. 8 Under their wings on their ^afour sides they had human ^bhands. As for the faces and wings of the four of them, 9 their wings touched one another; their faces did ^anot turn when they moved, each ^bwent straight forward. 10 Regarding the ^1aform and appearance of their faces: they each had the ^bface of a man in front, and each had the face of a lion on the right side, and the face of an ox on the left side; all four also had the face of an eagle at the back of their heads. The fire was bright, and lightning was flashing from the fire. 14 And the living beings ^amoved rapidly back and forth like flashes of ^blightning.

15 Now as I looked at the living beings, I saw one ^awheel on the ground beside the living beings, for each of the four of them. 16 Regarding the ^aappearance of the wheels and their construction: they gleamed like ^bchrysolite (beryl, olivine) ; and the four were made alike. Their appearance and construction were a wheel set at a right angle within a wheel. 17 Whenever they moved, they went in any one of their four directions without ^aturning as they moved. 18 Regarding their rims: they were so high that they were awesome and dreadful, and the rims of all four of them were ^afull of eyes all around. 19 ^aWhenever the living beings moved, the wheels moved with them; and when the living beings ^brose from the earth, the wheels rose also. 20 ^aWherever the spirit went, the beings went in that direction. And the wheels rose along with them; for the spirit or life of the living beings was in the wheels. 21 ^aWhenever those went, these went; and whenever those came to a stop, these came to a stop; and whenever those rose from the earth, the wheels rose close beside them, for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels.

22 Now stretched ^aover the heads of the living beings there was something like an expanse, looking like the terrible and awesome shimmer of icy crystal. 23 Under the expanse their wings were stretched out straight, one toward another. Every living being had ^atwo wings which covered its body on one side and on the other side. 24 As they moved, I also heard the sound of their wings like the ^asound of great rushing waters, like the ^bvoice of ¹the Almighty, the sound of tumult like the ^cnoise of an army camp. Whenever they came to a stop, they lowered their wings. 25 And there was a voice above the ^aexpanse that was over their heads; whenever they stopped, they lowered their wings.

26 Now ^aabove the expanse that was over their heads there was something ^bresembling a throne, it appeared like it was made of ^csapphire or lapis lazuli; and seated on that which looked like a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a ^dman. Phil 2:5-8 27 Now upward, from that which appeared to be His waist, I saw something ^alike glowing metal that looked like it was filled with fire all around it; and downward, from that which appeared to be His waist, I saw something like fire; and there was a brightness and a remarkable radiance like a halo around Him. 28 As the appearance of the ^arainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. This was the appearance of the likeness of the ^bglory and brilliance of the LORD. And when I saw it, I ^cfell face downward and I heard a voice of One speaking. Rev 4:3
