Y sucederá que cuando todas estas cosas hayan venido sobre ti, la bendición y la maldición que he puesto delante de ti^a, y tú las recuerdes¹ en todas las naciones adonde el SEÑOR tu Dios te haya desterrado^b, 2 y vuelvas al SEÑOR tu Dios, tú y tus hijos, y le obedezcas^1a con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma^b conforme a todo lo que yo te ordeno hoy, 3 entonces el SEÑOR tu Dios te hará volver de tu cautividad^1a, y tendrá compasión de ti y te recogerá de nuevo de entre todos los pueblos adonde el SEÑOR tu Dios te haya dispersado^b. 4 Si tus desterrados están en los confines de la tierra¹, de allí el SEÑOR tu Dios te recogerá y de allí te hará volver^2a. 5 Y el SEÑOR tu Dios te llevará a la tierra que tus padres poseyeron, y tú la poseerás^a; y Él te prosperará y te multiplicará más que a tus padres^b. 6 Además, el SEÑOR tu Dios circuncidará tu corazón y el corazón de tus descendientes¹, para que ames al SEÑOR tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma^a, a fin de que vivas. 7 El SEÑOR tu Dios pondrá todas estas maldiciones sobre los enemigos y sobre los aborrecedores^a que te persiguieron. 8 Y tú volverás a escuchar la voz del SEÑOR, y guardarás todos sus mandamientos que yo te ordeno hoy. 9 Entonces el SEÑOR tu Dios te hará prosperar abundantemente¹ en toda la obra de tu mano, en el fruto de tu vientre, en el fruto de tu ganado y en el producto² de tu tierra^a, pues el SEÑOR de nuevo se deleitará en ti para bien, tal como se deleitó en tus padres^b, 10 si obedeces a¹ la voz del SEÑOR tu Dios, guardando sus mandamientos y sus estatutos que están escritos en este libro de la ley^a, y si te vuelves al² SEÑOR tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma^b.

11 Este mandamiento que yo te ordeno hoy no es muy difícil para ti, ni está fuera de tu alcance¹. 12 No está en el cielo, para que digas¹: «¿Quién subirá por nosotros al cielo para traérnoslo y hacérnoslo oír a fin de que lo guardemos^a?». 13 Ni está más allá del mar, para que digas¹: «¿Quién cruzará el mar por nosotros para traérnoslo y para hacérnoslo oír, a fin de que lo guardemos?». 14 Pues la palabra está muy cerca de ti, en tu boca y en tu corazón, para que la guardes.

15 Mira, yo he puesto hoy delante de ti la vida y el bien¹, la muerte y el mal^2a; 16 pues te ordeno hoy amar al SEÑOR tu Dios^a, andar en sus caminos y guardar sus mandamientos, sus estatutos y sus decretos, para que vivas y te multipliques, a fin de que el SEÑOR tu Dios te bendiga en la tierra que vas a entrar para poseerla^b. 17 Pero si tu corazón se desvía y no escuchas, sino que te dejas arrastrar y te postras ante otros dioses y los sirves, 18 yo os declaro hoy que ciertamente pereceréis^a. No prolongaréis vuestros días en la tierra adonde tú vas, cruzando el Jordán para entrar en ella y¹ poseerla. 19 Al cielo y a la tierra pongo hoy como testigos contra vosotros^a de que he puesto ante ti la vida y la muerte, la bendición y la maldición^b. Escoge, pues, la vida para que vivas, tú y tu descendencia¹, 20 amando al SEÑOR tu Dios^a, escuchando su voz y allegándote a Él^b; porque eso¹ es tu vida y la largura de tus días, para que habites^c en la tierra que el SEÑOR juró dar a tus padres Abraham, Isaac y Jacob^d.

“So it will be when all of these things have come upon you, ^athe blessing and the curse which I have placed before you, and you ¹call them to mind ^bin all the nations where the LORD your God has scattered you, 2 and you ^areturn to the LORD your God and ¹obey Him ^bwith all your heart and soul in accordance with everything that I am commanding you today, you and your sons, 3 then the LORD your God will ^arestore ¹you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and ^bwill gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has ^cscattered you. 4 If any of your scattered countrymen are at the ¹ends of the earth, ^afrom there the LORD your God will gather you, and from there He will ²bring you back. 5 ^aThe LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will be good to you and ^bmake you more numerous than your fathers.

6 “Moreover, ^athe LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the hearts of your ¹descendants, ^bto love the LORD your God with all your heart and all your soul, so that you may live. 7 ^aAnd the LORD your God will ¹inflict all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. 8 And you will again ¹obey the LORD, and ²follow all His commandments which I am commanding you today. 9 ^aThen the LORD your God will prosper you ¹abundantly in every work of your hand, in the ²children of your womb, the ³offspring of your cattle, and in the ⁴produce of your ground, for ^bthe LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers; 10 ¹if you ²obey the LORD your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which ^aare written in this Book of the Law, ³if you turn to the LORD your God ^bwith all your heart and soul.

11 “For this commandment which I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it far away. 12 It is not in heaven, ¹that you could say, ‘^aWho will go up to heaven for us and get it for us, and proclaim it to us, so that we may ²follow it?’ 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, ¹that you could say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us and get it for us and proclaim it to us, so that we may ²follow it?’ 14 On the contrary, the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may ¹follow it.

15 “See, ^aI have placed before you today life and ¹happiness, and death and ²adversity, 16 in that I am commanding you today ^ato love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, so that you ^bmay live and become numerous, and that the LORD your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to take possession of it. 17 But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but allow yourself to be led astray and you worship other gods and serve them, 18 I declare to you today that ^ayou will certainly perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter ¹and take possession of it. 19 ^aI call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have placed before you life and death, ^bthe blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your ¹descendants, 20 ^aby loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and ^bby holding close to Him; ^cfor ¹this is your life and the length of your days, ²so that you may live in ^dthe land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

“So it shall be when all these things have come on you, ^athe blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you ¹call them to mind ^bin all the nations where the LORD your God has driven you, 2 and you ^ahave returned to the LORD your God and have listened to and obeyed His voice ^bwith all your heart and with all your soul, in accordance with everything that I am commanding you today, you and your children, 3 then the LORD your God will ^arestore your fortunes in your return from exile, and have compassion on you, and ^bwill gather you together again from all the peoples (nations) where He has ^cscattered you. 4 Even if any of your dispersed are at the ends of the earth, ^athe LORD your God will gather you together from there, and from there He will bring you back. 5 ^aThe LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you will take possession of it; and He shall make you prosper and ^bmultiply—even more than your fathers.

6 “And ^athe LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the hearts of your descendants that is, He will remove the desire to sin from your heart, ^bso that you will love the LORD your God with all your heart and all your soul, so that you may live as a recipient of His blessing. 7 ^aThe LORD your God will inflict all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who have persecuted you. 8 And you shall again listen to and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all His commandments which I command you today. 9 ^aThen the LORD your God shall make you abundantly prosperous in ¹everything that you do, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your land; for ^bthe LORD will again delight over you for good, just as He delighted over your fathers, 10 if you listen to and obey the voice of the LORD your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which ^aare written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to the LORD your God ^bwith all your heart and with all your soul (your entire being) .

11 “For this commandment which I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it ¹out of reach. 12 It is not a secret hidden in heaven, that you should say, ‘^aWho will go up to heaven for us and bring it to us, so that we may hear it and obey it?’ 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us and bring it to us, so that we may hear it and obey it?’ 14 But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it.

15 “Listen closely, ^aI have set before you today life and prosperity (good) , and death and adversity (evil) ; 16 in that I command you today ^ato love the LORD your God, to walk that is, to live each and every day in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments (precepts) , so that you ^bwill live and multiply, and that the LORD your God will bless you in the land which you are entering to possess. 17 But if your heart turns away and you will not hear and obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, 18 I declare to you today that ^ayou will certainly perish. You will not live long in the land which you cross the Jordan to enter and possess. 19 ^aI call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today, that I have set before you life and death, ^bthe blessing and the curse; therefore, you shall choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, 20 by ^aloving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and ^bby holding closely to Him; ^cfor He is your life your good life, your abundant life, your fulfillment and the length of your days, that you may live in ^dthe land which the LORD promised (swore) to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
