Si habéis, pues, resucitado con Cristo^a, buscad las cosas de arriba, donde está Cristo sentado a la diestra de Dios^b. 2 Poned la mira¹ en las cosas de arriba, no en las de la tierra^a. 3 Porque habéis muerto, y vuestra vida está escondida con Cristo^a en Dios. 4 Cuando Cristo, nuestra¹ vida^a, sea manifestado, entonces vosotros también seréis manifestados con Él en gloria^b.

5 Por tanto, considerad los miembros de vuestro cuerpo terrenal^a como muertos¹ a la fornicación, la impureza, las pasiones, los malos deseos y la avaricia, que es idolatría^b. 6 Pues la ira de Dios vendrá sobre los hijos de desobediencia¹ por causa de estas cosas^a, 7 en las cuales vosotros también anduvisteis^a en otro tiempo cuando vivíais en ellas. 8 Pero ahora desechad también vosotros todas estas cosas^a: ira, enojo, malicia, maledicencia^b, lenguaje soez de vuestra boca^c. 9 No mintáis^1a los unos a los otros, puesto que habéis desechado al viejo hombre^b con sus malos hábitos, 10 y os habéis vestido del nuevo hombre, el cual se va renovando^a hacia un verdadero conocimiento, conforme a la imagen^b de aquel que lo creó^c; 11 una renovación en la cual no hay distinción entre griego y judío^a, circunciso e incircunciso^1b, bárbaro^2c, escita³, esclavo o libre^d, sino que Cristo es todo, y en todos^e.

12 Entonces, como escogidos^a de Dios, santos y amados, revestíos^b de tierna compasión, bondad^c, humildad, mansedumbre y paciencia^1d; 13 soportándoos unos a otros^a y perdonándoos unos a otros, si alguno tiene queja contra otro; como Cristo os perdonó, así también hacedlo vosotros^b. 14 Y sobre todas estas cosas, vestíos de amor, que es el vínculo^1a de la unidad^2b. 15 Y que la paz de Cristo¹ reine² en vuestros corazones^a, a la cual en verdad³ fuisteis llamados en un solo cuerpo^b; y sed agradecidos. 16 Que la palabra de Cristo^1a habite en abundancia en vosotros, con toda sabiduría enseñándoos y amonestándoos unos a otros^b con salmos, himnos y canciones espirituales^c, cantando^d a Dios con acción de gracias² en vuestros corazones. 17 Y todo lo que hacéis, de palabra o de hecho, hacedlo todo en el nombre del Señor Jesús^a, dando gracias por medio de Él a Dios el Padre^b.

18 ^aMujeres, estad sujetas a vuestros maridos^b, como conviene en el Señor. 19 Maridos, amad a vuestras¹ mujeres^a y no seáis ásperos² con ellas. 20 Hijos, sed obedientes a vuestros padres en todo, porque esto es agradable al¹ Señor^a. 21 Padres, no exasperéis¹ a vuestros hijos^a, para que no se desalienten. 22 Siervos¹, obedeced en todo a vuestros² amos en la tierra^3a, no para ser vistos⁴, como los que quieren agradar a los hombres, sino con sinceridad de corazón, temiendo al Señor^b. 23 Y todo lo que hagáis, hacedlo de corazón, como para el Señor y no para los hombres^a, 24 sabiendo que del Señor recibiréis la recompensa^a de la herencia^b. Es a Cristo el Señor a quien servís^c. 25 Porque el que procede con injusticia sufrirá las consecuencias del mal que ha cometido^a, y eso, sin acepción de personas^b.

Therefore, if you have been ^araised with Christ, keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, ^bseated at the right hand of God. 2 ^1aSet your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have ^adied, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, ^awho is our life, is revealed, ^bthen you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

5 ^aTherefore, ¹treat ^bthe parts of your earthly body as dead to ^csexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which ²amounts to idolatry. 6 For it is because of these things that ^athe wrath of God is coming ¹upon the ²sons of disobedience, 7 and ^ain them you also once walked, when you were living ¹in them. 8 But now you also, ^arid yourselves of all of them: ^banger, wrath, malice, slander, and ^cobscene speech from your mouth. 9 ^1aDo not lie to one another, since you ^bstripped off the old ²self with its evil practices, 10 and have ^aput on the new self, which is being ^1brenewed to a true knowledge ^caccording to the image of the One who ^dcreated it— 11 a renewal in which ^athere is no distinction between Greek and Jew, ^bcircumcised and uncircumcised, ^1cbarbarian, ²Scythian, ^dslave, and free, but ^eChrist is all, and in all.

12 So, as those who have been ^achosen of God, holy and beloved, ^bput on a ^cheart of compassion, kindness, ^dhumility, gentleness, and ^1epatience; 13 ^abearing with one another, and ^bforgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; ^cjust as the Lord forgave you, so must you do also. 14 In addition to all these things put on love, which is ^1athe perfect bond of ^bunity. 15 Let ^athe peace of Christ, to which you were ¹indeed called in ^bone body, ²rule in your hearts; and ³be thankful. 16 Let ^athe word of ¹Christ richly dwell within you, ²with all wisdom ^bteaching and admonishing ³one another ^cwith psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, ^dsinging with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 ^aWhatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, ^bgiving thanks through Him to God the Father.

18 ^aWives, ^bbe subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 ^aHusbands, love your wives and do not become bitter against them. 20 ^aChildren, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing ¹to the Lord. 21 ^aFathers, do not ¹antagonize your children, so that they will not become discouraged.

22 ^1aSlaves, obey those who are your ²human masters in everything, ^bnot with ³eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, do your work ¹heartily, ^aas for the Lord and not for people, 24 ^aknowing that it is from the Lord that you will receive the reward ¹of ^bthe inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you ^cserve. 25 For ^athe one who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and ^1bthat without partiality.

Therefore if you have been ^araised with Christ to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead, keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, ^bseated at the right hand of God. Ps 110:1 2 ^aSet your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above the heavenly things, not on things that are on the earth which have only temporal value. 3 For you ^adied to this world, and your new, real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, ^awho is our life, ¹appears, ^bthen you also will appear with Him in glory.

5 ^aSo put to death and deprive of power ^bthe evil longings of your earthly body with its sensual, self-centered instincts ^cimmorality, impurity, sinful passion, evil desire, and greed, which is a kind of idolatry because it replaces your devotion to God. 6 Because of these sinful things ^athe divine wrath of God is coming ¹on the sons of disobedience those who fail to listen and who routinely and obstinately disregard God’s precepts, 7 and ^ain these sinful things you also once walked, when you were habitually living in them without the knowledge of Christ. 8 But now ^arid yourselves completely of all these things: ^banger, rage, malice, slander, and ^cobscene (abusive, filthy, vulgar) language from your mouth. 9 ^aDo not lie to one another, for you ^bhave stripped off the old self with its evil practices, 10 and have ^aput on the new spiritual self who is being continually ^brenewed in true knowledge ^cin the image of Him who ^dcreated the new self— Gen 1:26 11 a renewal in which ^athere is no distinction between Greek and Jew, ^bcircumcised and uncircumcised, nor between nations whether ^1cbarbarian or ²Scythian, nor in status whether ^dslave or free, but ^eChrist is all, and in all so believers are equal in Christ, without distinction.

12 So, as God’s own ^achosen people, who are holy set apart, sanctified for His purpose and well-beloved by God Himself, ^bput on a ^cheart of compassion, kindness, ^dhumility, gentleness, and ^epatience which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper; 13 ^abearing graciously with one another, and willingly ^bforgiving each other if one has a cause for complaint against another; ^cjust as the Lord has forgiven you, so should you forgive. 14 Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in unselfish love, which is ^athe perfect bond of ^bunity for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others. 15 Let ^athe peace of Christ the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him be the controlling factor in your hearts deciding and settling questions that arise. To this peace indeed you were called as members in ^bone body of believers. And be thankful to God always. 16 Let ^athe spoken word of Christ have its home within you dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being as you ^bteach spiritual things and admonish and train one another with all wisdom, ^csinging psalms and hymns and spiritual songs ^dwith thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 ^aWhatever you do no matter what it is in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in dependence on Him, ^bgiving thanks to God the Father through Him.

18 ^aWives, ^bbe ¹subject to your husbands out of respect for their position as protector, and their accountability to God, as is proper and ²fitting in the Lord. 19 ^aHusbands, love your wives with an affectionate, sympathetic, selfless love that always seeks the best for them and do not be embittered or resentful toward them because of the responsibilities of marriage. 20 ^aChildren, obey your parents as God’s representatives in all things, for this attitude of respect and obedience is well-pleasing ¹to the Lord and will bring you God’s promised blessings. 21 ^aFathers, do not provoke or irritate or exasperate your children with demands that are trivial or unreasonable or humiliating or abusive; nor by favoritism or indifference; treat them tenderly with lovingkindness, so they will not lose heart and become discouraged or unmotivated with their spirits broken.

22 ^aServants, in everything obey those who are your masters on earth, ^bnot only with external service, as those who merely please people, but with sincerity of heart because of your fear of the Lord. 23 Whatever you do whatever your task may be, work from the soul that is, put in your very best effort, ^aas something done for the Lord and not for men, 24 ^aknowing with all certainty that it is from the Lord not from men that you will receive ^bthe inheritance which is your greatest reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you actually ^cserve. 25 For ^ahe who does wrong will be punished for his wrongdoing, and with God ^bthere is no partiality no special treatment based on a person’s position in life.
