¡Ay de la ciudad sanguinariaa,toda llena de mentira y de pillaje,que nunca cesa en su rapiña!2 Chasquido de látigos,ruido del crujir de ruedas,galopar de caballos,y saltar de carrosa;3 carga de caballería,flamear de espadas,fulgor de lanzasa;multitud de heridos,montones de muertosb,innumerables1 cadáveres;tropiezan en los2 cadáveresc.4 Todo por las muchas prostituciones de la rameraa,la encantadora, la maestra de hechizosb,que seduce1 a las naciones con sus prostitucionescy a los pueblos2 con sus hechizos.5 Heme aquí contra ti—declara el SEÑOR de los ejércitosa.Levantaré1 tus faldas sobre tu rostrob,y mostraré a las naciones tu desnudezy a los reinos tu vergüenzac.6 Echaré sobre ti inmundicias1a,te haré despreciableb, y haré de ti un espectáculoc.7 Y sucederá que todo el que te veahuirá de ti, y dirá:«¡Asolada está Nínive!¿Quién llorará por ella?».¿Dónde te buscaré consoladoresa?
8 ¿Eres tú mejor que Tebas1a,la asentada junto al Nilo2,rodeada de aguas,cuyo baluarte era el mar3y las aguas4 su murallab?9 Etiopía1 era su fortalezaa,también Egipto, y no tenía límite.Futb y Libiac estaban entre los que la2 ayudaban.10 Sin embargo ella fue desterrada,llevada al cautiverioa;también sus niños fueron estrelladosben todas las bocacallesc;sobre sus nobles echaron suertesd,y todos sus principales fueron atados con cadenas.11 Tú también quedarás embriagadaa,estarás escondidab;tú también buscarás refugio del enemigo.12 Todas tus fortalezas son higuerascargadas de brevas;si se sacudena, caenen la boca de quien las va a comerb.13 He aquí a tu pueblo:solo mujeres en medio de tia.A tus enemigos se abren de par en parlas puertas de tu tierra;el fuego devora tus cerrojosb.14 Abastécete de1 agua para el asedioa,refuerza tus fortalezasb,métete en el lodo y pisa el barro,toma el molde de ladrillos.15 Allí te consumirá el fuego,te destruirá la espadaa,te devorará como el pulgónb.
Multiplícate como el pulgón,multiplícate como la langosta.16 Has multiplicado tus mercaderesamás que las estrellas del cielo;el pulgón despoja1 y vuela.17 Tus oficiales son como la langostaa,tus jefes como nubes de langostasbposados sobre las tapiasen un día de frío;sale el sol, y se van,y no se sabe donde están1.18 Duermen tus pastoresa,oh rey de Asiriab;tus noblesc reposan.Tu pueblo está disperso por los montesdy no hay quien lo reúna.19 No hay remedio para tu quebrantoa,tu herida es incurableb.Todos los que oigan noticias de tibatirán palmas sobre tic,porque ¿sobre quién no pasócontinuamente tu maldad?

aWoe to the bloody city, completely full of lies and pillage;Her prey does not leave.2 The asound of the whip,The sound of the roar of the wheel,Galloping horsesAnd 1bounding chariots!3 Horsemen charging,Swords flashing, aspears gleaming,bMany killed, a mass of corpses,And there is cno end to the dead bodies—They stumble over 1the dead bodies!4 All because of the amany sexual acts of the prostitute,The charming one, the bmistress of sorceries,Who csells nations by her sexual acts,And families by her sorceries.5 “Behold, aI am against you,” declares the LORD of armies;“And I will 1blift up your skirts over your face,And cshow the nations your nakedness,And the kingdoms your shame.6 “I will athrow filth on youAnd bdeclare you worthless,And set you up as a cspectacle.7 “And it will come about that all who see youWill 1shrink from you and say,‘Nineveh is devastated!aWho will have sympathy for her?’Where shall I seek comforters for you?”
8 Are you better than 1aNo-amon,Which was situated by the bcanals of the Nile,With water surrounding her,Whose rampart was 2the sea,Whose wall consisted of 3the sea?9 aEthiopia was her might,Egypt too, without limits.bPut and cLubim were among 1her helpers.10 Yet she abecame an exile,She went into captivity;Also her bsmall children were smashed to piecescAt the head of every street;They dcast lots for her honorable men,And all her great men were bound with shackles.11 You too will become adrunk,You will be bhidden.You too will search for a refuge from the enemy.12 All your fortifications are afig trees with 1bripe fruit—When shaken, they fall into the eater’s mouth.13 Behold, your people are awomen in your midst!The gates of your land are bopened wide to your enemies;Fire consumes your gate bars.14 aDraw for yourself water for a siege!bStrengthen your fortifications!Go into the clay and tread the mortar!Take hold of the brick mold!15 There afire will consume you,The sword will cut you down;It will bconsume you as the creeping locust consumes a crop.
Multiply yourself like the creeping locust,Multiply yourself like the migratory locust.16 You have made your atraders more numerous than the stars of heaven—The creeping locust sheds its skin and flies away.17 Your acourtiers are like the migratory locust.Your bofficials are like a swarm of locustsSettling in the stone shelters on a cold day.The sun rises and they flee,And the place where they are is not known.18 Your shepherds are asleeping, O bking of Assyria;Your cofficers are lying down.Your people are dscattered on the mountainsAnd there is no one to gather them.19 There is ano relief for your collapse,Your bwound is incurable.All who hear 1about youWill cclap their hands over you,For upon whom has your evil not come continually?

Ezek 24:6, 9, 10; Hab 2:122 The anoise of the cracking of the whip,The noise of the rattling of the wheel,Galloping horsesAnd rumbling and bounding chariots in the assault of Nineveh!3 Horsemen charging,Swords flashing, aspears gleaming,Many bslain, a mass of corpses,cNo end of corpses—The horsemen stumble over the corpses!4 All because of the amany acts of prostitution of Nineveh the prostitute,The charming and well-favored one, the bmistress of sorceries,Who cbetrays nations by her acts of prostitution (idolatry)And families by her sorceries.5 “Behold, aI am against you,” declares the LORD of hosts,“And I will blift up your skirts over your face,And I will let the nations clook at your nakedness O NinevehAnd the kingdoms at your disgrace.6 “I will athrow filth on youAnd make you bvile and treat you with contempt,And set you up as a cspectacle.7 “And it will come about that all who see youWill shrink back and run from you and say,‘Nineveh is completely ruined!aWho will grieve for her?’Where will I seek comforters for you?”
8 Are you better than 1aThebes,Which was situated by the bwaters of the Nile,With water surrounding her,Whose defense was the sea (the Nile) ,Whose wall consisted of the sea?9 aEthiopia was her strength,And Egypt too, without limits.1bPut and cLubim were among her helpers.10 Yet she abecame an exile;She went into captivity.Her byoung children were dashed to piecescAt the head of every street;They dcast lots for her honorable men,And all her great men were bound with chains.11 You too Nineveh will become adrunk with the cup of God’s wrath;You will be bhidden.You too Nineveh will search in vain for a refuge from the enemy.12 All your fortresses are nothing but afig trees with bripe figs—When shaken they fall into the mouth of the eater.13 Behold, your people are as weak and helpless as awomen in your midst!The gates of your land are bopened wide to your enemies;Fire consumes the bars across your gates.14 aDraw water for a long, continued siege!bStrengthen your fortresses!Go down to the clay pits, trample the mortar!Prepare the brick kiln to burn bricks for the rampart!15 But there in the very midst of these preparations the afire will devour you;The sword will cut you down;It will bdevour you as the locust does.
Multiply yourself like the creeping locusts;Multiply yourself like the swarming locusts.16 You have increased your atraders more than the visible stars of heaven—The creeping locust strips and destroys and then flies away.17 Your aguardsmen are like the swarming locusts.Your bmarshals are like the hordes of grasshoppersSettling in the stone walls on a cold day.When the sun rises, they fly away,And no one knows the place where they are.18 Your shepherds are aasleep, O bking of Assyria;Your cnobles are lying down in death.Your people are dscattered on the mountainsAnd there is no one to gather them.19 There is ano relief and healing for your hurt;Your bwound is incurable.All who hear the news about youcClap their hands over what has happened to you.For on whom has your unceasing evil not come continually?
