Fue Moisés y habló estas palabras a todo Israel, 2 y les dijo: Hoy tengo ciento veinte años^a; ya no puedo ir ni venir^b, y el SEÑOR me ha dicho: «No pasarás este Jordán^c». 3 El SEÑOR tu Dios pasará delante de ti; Él destruirá estas naciones delante de ti y las desalojarás. Josué es el que pasará delante de ti, tal como el SEÑOR ha dicho^a. 4 Y el SEÑOR hará con ellos como hizo con Sehón y con Og, reyes de los amorreos, y con su tierra cuando Él los destruyó. 5 Y los entregará el SEÑOR delante de vosotros^a y haréis con ellos conforme a los mandamientos que os he ordenado. 6 Sed firmes y valientes^a, no temáis ni os aterroricéis ante ellos^b, porque el SEÑOR tu Dios es el que va contigo^c; no te dejará ni te desamparará^d. 7 Entonces llamó Moisés a Josué y le dijo en presencia de todo Israel: Sé firme y valiente, porque tú entrarás con este pueblo en la tierra que el SEÑOR ha jurado a sus padres que les daría, y se la darás en heredad^a. 8 El SEÑOR irá delante de ti; Él estará contigo^a, no te dejará ni te desamparará^b; no temas ni te acobardes.

9 Y escribió Moisés esta ley y la dio a los sacerdotes, hijos de Leví, que llevaban el arca del pacto del SEÑOR^a, y a todos los ancianos de Israel. 10 Entonces Moisés les ordenó, diciendo: Al fin de cada siete años, durante el tiempo del año de la remisión de deudas^a, en la fiesta de los tabernáculos^1b, 11 cuando todo Israel venga a presentarse delante del SEÑOR tu Dios^a en el lugar que Él escoja^b, leerás esta ley delante de todo Israel, a oídos de ellos^c. 12 Congrega al pueblo, hombres, mujeres y niños, y al¹ forastero que está en tu ciudad², para que escuchen, aprendan a temer al SEÑOR tu Dios^a, y cuiden de observar todas las palabras de esta ley. 13 Y sus hijos, que no la conocen, la oirán y aprenderán a temer al SEÑOR vuestro Dios, mientras viváis en la tierra adonde vosotros¹ vais, cruzando al otro lado del Jordán para poseerla.

14 Entonces dijo el SEÑOR a Moisés: He aquí, el tiempo de tu muerte está¹ cerca^a; llama a Josué y presentaos en la tienda de reunión^b para que yo le dé mis órdenes. Fueron, pues, Moisés y Josué y se presentaron en la tienda de reunión. 15 Y se apareció el SEÑOR en la tienda en una columna de nube, y la columna de nube se puso a la entrada de la tienda^a. 16 Y el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: He aquí, tú vas a dormir con tus padres^a; y este pueblo se levantará y fornicará tras los dioses extranjeros de la tierra^b en la cual va a entrar, y me dejará y quebrantará mi pacto que hice con él^c. 17 Y se encenderá mi ira contra él en aquel día^a; los abandonaré^b y esconderé mi rostro de ellos^c. Será consumido, y muchos males y tribulaciones vendrán sobre él, por lo que dirá en aquel día: «¿No será porque mi Dios no está en medio de mí que me han alcanzado estos males^d?». 18 Pero ciertamente esconderé mi rostro en aquel día por todo el mal que habrá hecho, pues se volverá a otros dioses. 19 Ahora pues, escribid este cántico para vosotros, y tú, enséñaselo a los hijos de Israel; ponlo en su boca, para que este cántico me sea por testigo contra los hijos de Israel^a. 20 Porque cuando yo los introduzca en la tierra que mana leche y miel, la cual juré a sus padres, y ellos coman y se sacien^a y prosperen¹, se volverán a otros dioses^b y los servirán, y me despreciarán y quebrantarán mi pacto. 21 Sucederá entonces que cuando muchos males y tribulaciones vengan sobre ellos, este cántico declarará contra¹ ellos como testigo (pues no lo olvidarán los labios de sus descendientes^2a); porque yo conozco el plan que ahora están urdiendo³ antes de que los traiga a la tierra que juré darles^b. 22 Y escribió Moisés este cántico aquel mismo día, y lo enseñó a los hijos de Israel^a.

23 Entonces Él nombró a Josué, hijo de Nun, y le dijo^a: Sé fuerte y valiente, pues tú llevarás a los hijos de Israel a la tierra que les he jurado^b, y yo estaré contigo^c.

24 Y sucedió que cuando Moisés terminó de escribir las palabras de esta ley en un libro, hasta su conclusión, 25 Moisés ordenó a los levitas que llevaban el arca del pacto del SEÑOR^a, diciendo: 26 Tomad este libro de la ley y colocadlo junto al arca del pacto del SEÑOR vuestro Dios, para que permanezca¹ allí como testigo contra vosotros. 27 Porque conozco vuestra rebelión^a y vuestra obstinación^1b; he aquí, estando yo hoy todavía vivo con vosotros, habéis sido rebeldes contra el SEÑOR; ¿cuánto más lo seréis después de mi muerte? 28 Reunid ante mí a todos los ancianos de vuestras tribus y a vuestros oficiales, para que hable estas palabras a sus oídos, y ponga a los cielos y a la tierra como testigos en su contra^a. 29 Porque yo sé que después de mi muerte os corromperéis y os apartaréis del camino que os he mandado^a; y el mal vendrá sobre vosotros en los postreros días, pues haréis lo que es malo a la vista del SEÑOR, provocándole a ira con la obra de vuestras manos.

30 Entonces habló Moisés a oídos de toda la asamblea de Israel las palabras de este cántico hasta terminarlas.

So Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel. 2 And he said to them, “I am ^a120 years old today; ^bI am no longer able to ¹go out and come in, and the LORD has told me, ‘^cYou shall not cross this Jordan.’ 3 ^aIt is the LORD your God who is going to cross ahead of you; He Himself will destroy these nations before you, and you shall dispossess them. ^bJoshua is the one who is going to cross ahead of you, just as the LORD has spoken. 4 And the LORD will do to them just as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, when He destroyed them. 5 ^aThe LORD will turn them over to you, and you will do to them in accordance with all the commandments which I have commanded you. 6 ^aBe strong and courageous, ^bdo not be afraid or in dread of them, for ^cthe LORD your God is the One who is going with you. ^dHe will not desert you or abandon you.”

7 Then Moses called to Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “^aBe strong and courageous, for you will go with this people into the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you will give it to them as an inheritance. 8 And ^athe LORD is the One who is going ahead of you; He will be with you. ^bHe will not desert you or abandon you. Do not fear and do not be dismayed.”

9 So Moses wrote this Law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi ^awho carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel. 10 Then Moses commanded them, saying, “At the end of every seven years, at the time of ^athe year of the release of debts, at the ^bFeast of Booths, 11 when all Israel comes ^ato appear before the LORD your God at ^bthe place which He will choose, ^cyou shall read this Law before all Israel ¹so that they hear it. 12 Assemble the people, the men, the women, the children, and the stranger who is in your ¹town, so that they may hear and ^alearn and fear the LORD your God, and be careful to ²follow all the words of this Law. 13 And their children, who have not known, will hear and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as you live on the land ¹which you are about to cross the Jordan to ²possess.”

14 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, ^1athe time for you to die is near; call Joshua and present yourselves at the tent of meeting, and I will commission him.” ^bSo Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the tent of meeting. 15 ^aAnd the LORD appeared in the tent in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood at the entrance of the tent. 16 The LORD said to Moses, “Behold, ^ayou are about to ¹lie down with your fathers; and ^bthis people will arise and play the prostitute with the foreign gods of the land into the midst of which they are going, and ^cthey will abandon Me and break My covenant which I have made with them. 17 ^aThen My anger will be kindled against them on that day, and ^bI will abandon them and ^chide My face from them, and they will be consumed, and many evils and troubles will find them; so they will say on that day, ‘^dIs it not because our God is not among us that these evils have found us?’ 18 But I will assuredly hide My face on that day because of all the evil that they will have done, for they will have turned away to other gods.

19 “Now then, ^awrite this song for yourselves, and teach it to the sons of Israel; put it ¹on their lips, so that this song may be a witness for Me against the sons of Israel. 20 ^aFor when I bring them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I swore to their fathers, and they eat and are satisfied and ^bbecome ¹prosperous, then they will turn to other gods and serve them, and spurn Me and break My covenant. 21 Then it will come about, ^awhen many evils and troubles find them, that this song will testify before them as a witness (for it shall not be forgotten from the mouth of their ¹descendants); for ^bI know their inclination which they are ²developing today, before I bring them into the land which I swore.” 22 ^aSo Moses wrote down this song on the same day, and taught it to the sons of Israel.

23 ^aThen He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “^bBe strong and courageous, for you will bring the sons of Israel into the land which I swore to them, and ^cI will be with you.”

24 It came about, when Moses finished writing the words of this Law in a book until they were complete, 25 that Moses commanded the Levites ^awho carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying, 26 “Take this Book of the Law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, so that it may ¹remain there as a witness against you. 27 For I know ^ayour rebellion and ^byour ¹stubbornness; behold, as long as I have been alive with you until today, you have been rebellious against the LORD; how much more, then, after my death? 28 Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes and your officers, that I may speak these words in their hearing and ^acall the heavens and the earth as witnesses against them. 29 For I know that after my death you will ^abehave very corruptly and turn from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will confront you in the latter days, because you will do that which is evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger with the work of your hands.”

30 Then Moses spoke in the hearing of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were complete:

So Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel. 2 And he said to them, “I am ^1aa hundred and twenty years old today; ^bI am no longer able to come in and go out as your spiritual and military leader, and the LORD has said to me, ‘^cYou shall not cross this Jordan.’ 3 It is ^athe LORD your God who will cross ahead of you; He will destroy these nations before you, and you shall dispossess them. ^bJoshua is the one who will go across before you to lead you, just as the LORD has said. 4 The LORD will do to them just as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, when He destroyed them. 5 ^aThe LORD will hand them over to you, and you shall do to them in accordance with all the commandments which I have commanded you. 6 ^aBe strong and courageous, ^bdo not be afraid or tremble in dread before them, for it is ^cthe LORD your God who goes with you. ^dHe will not fail you or abandon you.”

7 Then Moses called to Joshua and said to him in the sight of all the people of Israel, “^aBe strong and courageous, for you will go with this people into the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you will give it to them as an inheritance. 8 It is ^athe LORD who goes before you; He will be with you. ^bHe will not fail you or abandon you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

9 So Moses wrote this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi ^awho carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel. 10 Then Moses commanded them, saying, “At the end of every seven years, at the time of ^ayear when debts are forgiven, at the ^bFeast of Booths (Tabernacles) , 11 when all Israel comes ^ato appear before the LORD your God in ^bthe place which He chooses, ^cyou shall read this law before all the people of Israel ¹so that they may hear. 12 Assemble the people, the men and the women and children and the stranger (resident alien, foreigner) within your cities, so that they may hear and ^alearn and fear the LORD your God with awe-filled reverence and profound respect, and be careful to obey all the words of this law. 13 Their children, who have not known the law, will hear and learn to fear and worship the LORD your God, as long as you live in the land which you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”

14 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, ^athe time for you to die is near; call Joshua, and present yourselves at the Tent of Meeting, so that I may commission him.” ^bSo Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the Tent of Meeting. 15 Then ^athe LORD appeared in the tent in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood beside the doorway of the tent. 16 The LORD said to Moses, “Behold, ^ayou are about to lie down in death with your fathers; and ^bthis people will arise and ¹play the prostitute (commit apostasy) with the foreign gods of the people of the land, where they go to be among them. They ^cwill abandon (turn away from) Me and break My covenant which I have made with them. 17 ^aThen My anger will be kindled and burn against them in that day, and ^bI will abandon (turn away from) them and ^chide My face from them. They will be devoured, and many evils and troubles will come on them, so that they will say in that day, ‘^dIs it not because our God is not among us that these evils have come on us?’ 18 But I will certainly hide My face from them in that day because of all the evil which they will do, for they will turn to other gods to worship lifeless idols, to honor handmade relics.

19 “Now then, ^awrite this song for yourselves, and teach it to the sons of Israel; put it in their mouth, so that this song may be a witness for Me against the sons of Israel. 20 ^aFor when I bring them into the land which I have sworn to their fathers, a land of plenty ¹flowing with milk and honey, and they have eaten and are satisfied and ^bbecome prosperous, then they will turn to other gods and serve them, and despise and reject Me and break My covenant. 21 Then it shall come about, ^awhen many evils and troubles have come on them, that this sacred song will confront them as a witness; for it will not be forgotten from the mouth of their descendants. For ^bI know their inclination which is developing even now, before I bring them into the land which I have sworn to give them.” 22 ^aSo Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the children of Israel. Deut 32:1-43

23 ^aThen He commanded and commissioned Joshua, the son of Nun, and said, “^bBe strong and courageous, for you will bring the sons of Israel into the land which I have sworn to give them, and ^cI will be with you.”

24 And when Moses completely finished writing the words of this law in a book, 25 he commanded the Levites ^awho carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying, 26 “Take this Book of the Law and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, so that it may remain there as a witness against you. 27 For I know ^ayour rebellion and contention and ^byour stubbornness; behold, while I am still alive with you today, you have been rebellious against the LORD; how much more, then, after my death? 28 Assemble before me all the elders of your tribes and your officers, so that I may speak these words in their hearing and ^acall heaven and earth as witnesses against them. 29 For I know that after my death you will behave ^acorruptly and turn from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will come upon you in the latter days, because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger with the work of your hands.”

30 Then Moses spoke in the hearing of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended:

So Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel. 2 And he said to them, “I am ^aa hundred and twenty years old today; ^bI am no longer able to come and go, and the LORD has said to me, ‘^cYou shall not cross this Jordan.’ 3 ^aIt is the LORD your God who will cross ahead of you; He will destroy these nations before you, and you shall dispossess them. ^bJoshua is the one who will cross ahead of you, just as the LORD has spoken. 4 The LORD will do to them just as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, when He destroyed them. 5 ^aThe LORD will deliver them up before you, and you shall do to them according to all the commandments which I have commanded you. 6 ^aBe strong and courageous, ^bdo not be afraid or tremble at them, for ^cthe LORD your God is the one who goes with you. ^dHe will not fail you or forsake you.”

7 Then Moses called to Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “^aBe strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall give it to them as an inheritance. 8 ^aThe LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. ^bHe will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

14 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, ^1athe time for you to die is near; call Joshua, and present yourselves at the tent of meeting, that I may commission him.” ^bSo Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the tent of meeting. 15 ^aThe LORD appeared in the tent in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood at the doorway of the tent. 16 The LORD said to Moses, “Behold, ^ayou are about to lie down with your fathers; and ^bthis people will arise and play the harlot with the strange gods of the land, into the midst of which they are going, and ^cwill forsake Me and break My covenant which I have made with them. 17 ^aThen My anger will be kindled against them in that day, and ^bI will forsake them and ^chide My face from them, and they will be consumed, and many evils and troubles will come upon them; so that they will say in that day, ‘^dIs it not because our God is not among us that these evils have come upon us?’ 18 But I will surely hide My face in that day because of all the evil which they will do, for they will turn to other gods.

19 “Now therefore, ^awrite this song for yourselves, and teach it to the sons of Israel; put it ¹on their lips, so that this song may be a witness for Me against the sons of Israel. 20 ^aFor when I bring them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I swore to their fathers, and they have eaten and are satisfied and ^bbecome ¹prosperous, then they will turn to other gods and serve them, and spurn Me and break My covenant. 21 Then it shall come about, ^awhen many evils and troubles have come upon them, that this song will testify before them as a witness (for it shall not be forgotten from the ¹lips of their descendants); for ^bI know their intent which they are ²developing today, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.” 22 ^aSo Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the sons of Israel.

23 ^aThen He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “^bBe strong and courageous, for you shall bring the sons of Israel into the land which I swore to them, and ^cI will be with you.”

24 It came about, when Moses finished writing the words of this law in a book until they were complete, 25 that Moses commanded the Levites ^awho carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying, 26 “Take this book of the law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may ¹remain there as a witness against you. 27 For I know ^ayour rebellion and ^byour ¹stubbornness; behold, while I am still alive with you today, you have been rebellious against the LORD; how much more, then, after my death? 28 Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes and your officers, that I may speak these words in their hearing and ^acall the heavens and the earth to witness against them. 29 For I know that after my death you will ^aact corruptly and turn from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days, for you will do that which is evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger with the work of your hands.”

30 Then Moses spoke in the hearing of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were complete:
