A la iglesia de los tesalonicenses^d en Dios nuestro Padre y en el Señor Jesucristo: 2 Gracia a vosotros^a y paz de parte de Dios el Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

3 Siempre tenemos que dar gracias a Dios por vosotros^a, hermanos^b, como es justo, porque vuestra fe aumenta grandemente, y el amor de cada uno de¹ vosotros hacia los demás^c abunda más y más; 4 de manera que nosotros mismos hablamos con orgullo^a de vosotros entre las iglesias de Dios, por vuestra perseverancia¹ y fe^b en medio de todas las² persecuciones y aflicciones que soportáis^c. 5 Esta es una señal evidente^a del justo juicio de Dios, para que seáis considerados dignos del reino de Dios^b, por el cual en verdad estáis sufriendo.

6 Porque después de todo¹, es justo delante^a de² Dios retribuir con aflicción a los que os afligen, 7 y daros alivio a vosotros que sois afligidos, y también a nosotros¹, cuando el Señor Jesús sea revelado^2a desde el cielo^b con sus poderosos ángeles^3c en llama de fuego^d, 8 dando retribución a los que no conocen a Dios^a, y a los que no obedecen al evangelio de nuestro Señor Jesús^b. 9 Estos¹ sufrirán el castigo de eterna destrucción^a, excluidos de la presencia del Señor^b y de la gloria de su poder, 10 cuando Él venga para ser glorificado^a en¹ sus santos en aquel día^b y para ser admirado entre todos los que han creído; porque nuestro testimonio ha sido creído por vosotros^c.

11 Con este fin también nosotros oramos siempre por vosotros^a, para que nuestro Dios os considere¹ dignos^b de vuestro llamamiento^c y cumpla todo deseo de bondad^d y la obra de fe^e, con poder, 12 a fin de que el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesús^a sea glorificado en vosotros, y vosotros en Él, conforme a la gracia de nuestro Dios y del Señor Jesucristo.

3 We ought always ^ato give thanks to God for you, ^bbrothers and sisters, as is only fitting, because your faith is increasing abundantly, and the ^clove of each and every one of you toward one another grows ever greater. 4 As a result, we ourselves ^aspeak proudly of you among ^bthe churches of God for your ¹perseverance and faith ^2cin the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure. 5 This is ¹a ^aplain indication of God’s righteous judgment so that you will be ^bconsidered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you indeed are suffering. 6 ¹For after all ^ait is only right ²for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted, along with us, ^1awhen the Lord Jesus will be revealed ^bfrom heaven ^cwith ²His mighty angels 8 ^ain flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who ^bdo not know God, and to those who ^cdo not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 These people will pay the penalty of ^aeternal destruction, ^baway from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes to be ^aglorified among His ¹saints on that ^bday, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—because our ^ctestimony to you was believed. 11 To this end also we ^apray for you always, that our God will ^bconsider you worthy of your ^ccalling, and fulfill every desire for ^dgoodness and the ^ework of faith with power, 12 so that the ^aname of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, in accordance with the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 We ought always and indeed are morally obligated as those in debt ^ato give thanks to God for you, ^1bbrothers and sisters, as is fitting, because your faith is growing ever greater, and the unselfish ^2clove of each one of you toward one another is continually increasing. 4 Therefore, we ^aspeak of you with pride among ^bthe churches of God for your steadfastness your unflinching endurance, and patience and your firm faith ^cin the midst of all the persecution and crushing distress which you endure. 5 This is a ^apositive proof of the righteous judgment of God a sign of His fair verdict, so that you will be ^bconsidered worthy of His kingdom, for which indeed you are suffering. 6 For after all ^ait is only just for God to repay with distress those who distress you, 7 and to give relief to you who are so distressed and to us as well ^awhen the Lord Jesus is revealed ^bfrom heaven ^cwith His mighty angels ^din a flame of fire, 8 dealing out full and complete vengeance to those who ^ado not seek to know God and to those who ^bignore and refuse to obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus by choosing not to respond to Him. 9 These people will pay the penalty and endure the punishment of ^1aeverlasting destruction, ^bbanished from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes to be ^aglorified in His saints on that ^bday that is, glorified through the changed lives of those who have accepted Him as Savior and have been set apart for His purpose, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our ^ctestimony to you was believed and trusted and confirmed in your lives. 11 With this in view, we constantly ^apray for you, that our God will ^bcount you worthy of your ^ccalling to faith and with His power fulfill every desire for ^dgoodness, and complete your every ^ework of faith, 12 so that the ^aname of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you by what you do, and you in Him, according to the precious grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
