Pero se levantaron falsos profetas^a entre el pueblo, así como habrá también falsos maestros^b entre vosotros^c, los cuales encubiertamente introducirán^d herejías destructoras^e, negando incluso al Señor^f que los compró^1g, trayendo sobre sí una destrucción repentina. 2 Muchos seguirán su sensualidad^a, y por causa de ellos, el camino de la verdad^b será blasfemado^c; 3 y en su avaricia^a os explotarán^b con palabras falsas^c. El juicio de ellos, desde hace mucho tiempo no está ocioso^d, ni su perdición dormida. 4 Porque si Dios no perdonó a los ángeles cuando pecaron, sino que los arrojó al infierno^a y los entregó a fosos de tinieblas^b, reservados para juicio; 5 si¹ no perdonó al mundo antiguo^a, sino que guardó a Noé, un predicador² de justicia, con otros siete^3b, cuando trajo el diluvio sobre el mundo^c de los impíos; 6 si condenó a la destrucción las ciudades de Sodoma y Gomorra, reduciéndolas a cenizas^a, poniéndolas de ejemplo^b para los que habrían de vivir impíamente después^c; 7 si rescató al justo Lot^a, abrumado por la conducta sensual^b de hombres libertinos^1c 8 (porque ese justo^a, por lo que veía y oía mientras vivía entre ellos, diariamente sentía su alma justa atormentada por sus hechos inicuos), 9 el Señor, entonces, sabe rescatar de tentación¹ a los piadosos^a, y reservar a los injustos bajo castigo para el día del juicio^b, 10 especialmente a los que andan tras la carne en sus deseos corrompidos^a y desprecian la autoridad. Atrevidos y obstinados^b, no tiemblan cuando blasfeman de las majestades angélicas^1c, 11 cuando los ángeles, que son mayores en fuerza y en potencia, no pronuncian juicio injurioso contra ellos^a delante del Señor. 12 Peroestos, como animales irracionales^a, nacidos como criaturas de instinto para ser capturados y destruidos^1b, blasfemando de lo que ignoran, serán también destruidos con la destrucción de esas criaturas², 13 sufriendo el mal como pago de su iniquidad^a. Cuentan por deleite andar en placeres disolutos durante el día^b; son manchas e inmundicias, deleitándose^c en sus engaños¹ mientras banquetean con vosotros^d. 14 Tienen los ojos llenos de adulterio y nunca cesan de pecar; seducen^a a las almas inestables^b; tienen un corazón ejercitado en la avaricia^c; son hijos de maldición^d. 15 Abandonando el camino recto, se han extraviado^a, siguiendo el camino de Balaam, el hijo de Beor^b, quien amó el pago de la iniquidad^c, 16 pero fue reprendido por su transgresión, pues una muda bestia de carga, hablando con voz humana, reprimió la locura del profeta^a. 17 Estos son manantiales sin agua^a, bruma impulsada por una tormenta, para quienes está reservada la oscuridad de las tinieblas^b. 18 Pues hablando con arrogancia^a y vanidad^b, seducen^c mediante deseos carnales, por sensualidad^d, a los que hace poco escaparon^e de los que viven en el error. 19 Les prometen libertad, mientras que ellos mismos son esclavos de la corrupción, pues uno es esclavo de aquello que le ha vencido^a. 20 Porque si después de haber escapado^a de las contaminaciones del mundo por el conocimiento^b de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo^c, de nuevo son enredados en ellas^d y vencidos, su condición postrera viene a ser peor que la primera^e. 21 Pues hubiera sido mejor para ellos no haber conocido el camino de la justicia, que habiéndolo conocido, apartarse^a del santo mandamiento^b que les fue dado^c. 22 Les ha sucedido a ellos según el proverbio verdadero: EL PERRO VUELVE A SU PROPIO VÓMITO^a, y: La puerca lavada, vuelve a revolcarse en el cieno.

4 For ^aif God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into ¹hell and ^bcommitted them to ²pits of darkness, held for judgment; 5 and did not spare ^athe ancient world, but protected ^bNoah, a ¹preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a ^cflood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 and if He ^acondemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an ^bexample ¹of what is coming for the ^cungodly; 7 and if He ^arescued righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the ^bperverted conduct of ^1cunscrupulous people 8 (for by what he saw and heard that ^arighteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), 9 ^athen the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from ¹a trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the ^bday of judgment, 10 and especially those who ^1aindulge the flesh in its corrupt passion, and ^bdespise ²authority.

³Reckless, ^cself-centered, they ^dspeak abusively of angelic ⁴majesties without trembling, 11 ^awhereas angels who are greater in might and power do not bring a demeaning judgment against them before the Lord. 12 But ^athese, like unreasoning animals, ^bborn as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, using abusive speech where they have no knowledge, will in ¹the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed, 13 suffering wrong as ^athe wages of doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to ^brevel in the ^cdaytime. They are stains and blemishes, ^dreveling in their ¹deceptions as they ^efeast with you, 14 having eyes full of adultery ¹that never cease from sin, ^aenticing ^bunstable souls, having hearts trained in ^cgreed, ^daccursed children; 15 abandoning ^athe right way, they have gone astray, having followed ^bthe way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved ^cthe ¹reward of unrighteousness; 16 but he received a rebuke for his own offense, ^afor a mute donkey, speaking with a human voice, restrained the insanity of the prophet.

17 These are ^asprings without water and mists driven by a storm, ^bfor whom the ¹black darkness has been reserved. 18 For, while speaking out ^aarrogant words of no ^bvalue they ^centice by fleshly desires, by ^dindecent behavior, those who barely ^eescape from the ones who live in error, 19 promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for ^aby what anyone is overcome, by this he is enslaved. 20 For if, after they have ^aescaped the defilements of the world by ^bthe knowledge of the ^cLord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again ^dentangled in them and are overcome, ^ethe last state has become worse for them than the first. 21 ^aFor it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from ^bthe holy commandment ^chanded on to them. 22 ¹It has happened to them according to the true proverb, “^aA DOG RETURNS TO ITS OWN VOMIT,” and, “A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire.”

4 ¹For if ^aGod did not even spare angels that sinned, but threw them into ²hell and ^bsent them to pits of gloom to be kept there for judgment; 5 and if He did not spare ^athe ancient world, but protected ^bNoah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought the judgment of a ^cflood upon the world of the ungodly; Gen 6-8; 1+@Pet 3:20 6 and if He ^acondemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an ^bexample to those who would ^clive ungodly lives thereafter; Gen 19:24 7 and if He ^arescued righteous ¹Lot, who was tormented by the ^bimmoral conduct of ^cunprincipled and ungodly men Gen 19:16, 29 8 (for that ^ajust man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by what he saw and heard of their lawless acts), 9 then in light of the fact that all this is true, be sure that ^athe Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and how to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the ^bday of judgment, 10 and especially ¹those who ^aindulge in the corrupt passions of the sin nature, and ^bdespise authority.

Presumptuous and reckless, ^cself-willed and arrogant creatures, despising the majesty of the Lord, they do not tremble when they ^drevile angelic majesties, 11 ^awhereas even angels who are superior in might and power do not bring a reviling (defaming) accusation against them before the Lord. Jude 8 12 But ^athese false teachers, like unreasoning animals, mere creatures of instinct, ^bborn to be captured and destroyed, reviling things they do not understand, will also perish in their own corruption in their destroying they will be destroyed, 13 suffering wrong destined for punishment as the ^awages of doing wrong. They count it a delight to ^brevel in the ^cdaytime living luxuriously. They are stains and blemishes on mankind, ^dreveling in their ¹deceptions even as they ^efeast with you. 14 They have eyes full of adultery, constantly looking for sin, ^aenticing and luring away ^bunstable souls. Having hearts trained in ^cgreed, they are ^dchildren of a curse. 15 Abandoning ^athe straight road that is, the right way to live, they have gone astray; they have followed ^bthe way of the false teacher Balaam the son of Beor, who loved ^cthe reward of wickedness; Num 22:5, 7 16 but he was rebuked for his own transgression: ^aa mute donkey spoke with a man’s voice and restrained the prophet’s madness. Num 22:21-31

17 These false teachers are ^asprings without water and mists driven by a tempest, ^bfor whom is reserved the gloom of black darkness. 18 For uttering ^aarrogant words of ^bvanity pompous words disguised to sound scholarly or profound, but meaning nothing and containing no spiritual truth, they ^cbeguile and lure using lustful desires, by ^dsensuality, those who barely ^eescape from the ones who live in error. 19 They promise them liberty, when they themselves are the slaves of depravity—for ^aby whatever anyone is defeated and overcome, to that person, thing, philosophy, or concept he is continually enslaved. 20 For if, after they have ^aescaped the pollutions of the world by personal ^bknowledge of our ^cLord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again ^dentangled in them and are overcome, ^etheir last condition has become worse for them than the first. 21 ^aFor it would have been better for them not to have personally known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to have turned back from ^bthe holy commandment verbally ^chanded on to them. 22 The thing spoken of in the true proverb has happened to them, “^aTHE DOG RETURNS TO HIS OWN VOMIT,” and, “A sow is washed only to wallow again in the mire.” Prov 26:11
