^aOtra vez entró Jesús en una sinagoga^b; y había allí un hombre que tenía una mano seca. 2 Y le observaban^a para ver si lo sanaba en el día de reposo, para poder acusarle^b. 3 Y dijo* al hombre que tenía la mano seca: Levántate y ponte aquí en medio. 4 Entonces les dijo*: ¿Es lícito en el día de reposo hacer bien o hacer mal, salvar una vida o matar? Pero ellos guardaban silencio. 5 Y mirándolos en torno con enojo, entristecido por la dureza de sus corazones, dijo* al hombre: Extiende tu mano. Y él la extendió, y su mano quedó sana^1a. 6 Pero cuando los fariseos salieron, enseguida comenzaron a tramar¹ con los herodianos^a en contra de Jesús², para ver cómo podrían destruirle.

7 ^aJesús se retiró al mar con sus discípulos; y una gran multitud de Galilea le siguió; y también de Judea^b, 8 de Jerusalén, de Idumea^a, del otro lado del Jordán, y de los alrededores de Tiro y Sidón^b; una gran multitud, que al oír todo lo que Jesús hacía, vino a Él. 9 Y dijo a sus discípulos que le tuvieran lista una barca por causa de la multitud^a, para que no le oprimieran; 10 porque había sanado a muchos^a, de manera que todos los que tenían aflicciones^b se le echaban encima para tocarle^c. 11 Y siempre que los espíritus inmundos le veían, caían delante de Él y gritaban, diciendo: Tú eres el Hijo de Dios^a. 12 Y les advertía con insistencia que no revelaran su identidad^1a.

13 Y subió* al monte^a, llamó^b* a los que Él quiso, y ellos vinieron a Él. 14 Y designó a doce¹, para que estuvieran con Él y para enviarlos a predicar, 15 y para que tuvieran autoridad de expulsar demonios. 16 Designó a los doce: ^aSimón (a quien puso por nombre Pedro), 17 Jacobo¹, hijo de Zebedeo, y Juan hermano de Jacobo² (a quienes puso por nombre Boanerges, que significa, hijos del trueno); 18 Andrés, Felipe, Bartolomé, Mateo, Tomás, Jacobo¹, hijo de Alfeo, Tadeo, Simón el cananita²; 19 y Judas Iscariote, el que también le entregó.

20 Jesús llegó* a una casa^a, y la multitud se juntó* de nuevo^b, a tal punto que ellos ni siquiera podían comer^1c. 21 Cuando sus parientes^a oyeron esto, fueron para hacerse cargo de Él, porque decían: Está fuera de sí^b. 22 Y los escribas que habían descendido de Jerusalén^a decían: Tiene a Beelzebú^b; y: Expulsa los demonios por el príncipe de los demonios^c. 23 ^aY llamándolos junto a sí, les hablaba en parábolas^b: ¿Cómo puede Satanás expulsar a Satanás^c? 24 Y si un reino está dividido contra sí mismo, ese reino no puede perdurar. 25 Y si una casa está dividida contra sí misma, esa casa no podrá permanecer. 26 Y si Satanás^a se ha levantado contra sí mismo y está dividido, no puede permanecer, sino que ha llegado su fin¹. 27 Pero nadie puede entrar en la casa de un hombre fuerte y saquear sus bienes si primero no lo ata¹; entonces podrá saquear su casa^a. 28 En verdad os digo que todos los pecados serán perdonados a los hijos de los hombres^a, y las blasfemias con que blasfemen, 29 pero cualquiera que blasfeme contra el Espíritu Santo no tiene jamás perdón^a, sino que es culpable de pecado eterno. 30 Porque decían: Tiene un espíritu inmundo.

31 ^aEntonces llegaron* su madre y sus hermanos, y quedándose afuera, mandaron llamarle. 32 Y había una multitud sentada alrededor de Él, y le dijeron*: He aquí, tu madre y tus hermanos¹ están afuera y te buscan. 33 Respondiéndoles Él, dijo*: ¿Quiénes son mi madre y mis hermanos? 34 Y mirando en torno a los que estaban sentados en círculo, a su alrededor, dijo*: He aquí mi madre y mis hermanos^a. 35 Porque cualquiera que hace la voluntad de Dios^a,ese es mi hermano y hermana y madre.

^aHe ^bentered again into a synagogue; and a man was there whose hand was withered. 2 ^aThey were watching Him to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, ^bso that they might accuse Him. 3 He *said to the man with the withered hand, “¹Get up and come forward!” 4 And He *said to them, “Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?” But they kept silent. 5 After ^alooking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He *said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored. 6 The Pharisees went out and immediately began ¹conspiring with the ^aHerodians against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.

7 ^aJesus withdrew to the sea with His disciples; and ^ba great multitude from Galilee followed; and also from Judea, 8 and from Jerusalem, and from ^aIdumea, and beyond the Jordan, and the vicinity of ^bTyre and Sidon, a great number of people heard of all that He was doing and came to Him. 9 ^aAnd He told His disciples that a boat should stand ready for Him because of the crowd, so that they would not crowd Him; 10 for He had ^ahealed many, with the result that all those who had ^bafflictions pressed around Him in order to ^ctouch Him. 11 Whenever the unclean spirits saw Him, they would fall down before Him and shout, “You are ^athe Son of God!” 12 And He ^aearnestly warned them not to ¹tell who He was.

13 And He *went up on ^athe mountain and *^bsummoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him. 14 And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach, 15 and to have authority to cast out the demons. 16 And He appointed the twelve: ^aSimon (to whom He gave the name Peter), 17 and ¹James, the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of ²James (to them He gave the name Boanerges, which means, “Sons of Thunder”); 18 and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and ¹James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the ²Zealot; 19 and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him.

20 And He *came ^1ahome, and the ^bcrowd *gathered again, ^cto such an extent that they could not even eat ²a meal. 21 When ^aHis own ¹people heard of this, they went out to take custody of Him; for they were saying, “^bHe has lost His senses.” 22 The scribes who came down ^afrom Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by ^1bBeelzebul,” and “^cHe casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.” 23 ^aAnd He called them to Himself and began speaking to them in ^bparables, “How can ^cSatan cast out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26 If ^aSatan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but ¹he is finished! 27 ^aBut no one can enter the strong man’s house and plunder his property unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.

28 “^aTruly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; 29 but ^awhoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— 30 because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”

31 ^aThen His mother and His brothers *arrived, and standing outside they sent word to Him and called Him. 32 A crowd was sitting around Him, and they *said to Him, “Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are outside looking for You.” 33 Answering them, He *said, “Who are My mother and My brothers?” 34 Looking about at those who were sitting around Him, He *said, “^aBehold My mother and My brothers! 35 For whoever ^adoes the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother.”
