Después de esto, el Señor^a designó a otros setenta¹, y los envió de dos en dos^b delante de Él^c, a toda ciudad y lugar adonde Él había de ir. 2 Y les decía: La mies es mucha, pero los obreros pocos; rogad, por tanto, al Señor de la mies que envíe obreros a su mies^a. 3 Id; mirad que os envío como corderos en medio de lobos^a. 4 ^aNo llevéis bolsa, ni alforja¹, ni sandalias; y a nadie saludéis por el camino. 5 En cualquier casa que entréis, decid primero: «Paz a esta casa». 6 Y si hay allí un hijo de paz, vuestra paz reposará sobre él; pero si no, se volverá a vosotros. 7 Permaneced entonces en esa casa¹, comiendo y bebiendo lo que os den²; porque el obrero es digno de su salario^a. No os paséis de casa en casa. 8 En cualquier ciudad donde entréis y os reciban, comed lo que os sirvan^a; 9 sanad a los enfermos que haya en ella, y decidles: «Se ha acercado a vosotros el reino de Dios^a». 10 Pero en cualquier ciudad donde entréis, y no os reciban, salid a sus calles, y decid: 11 «Hasta el polvo de vuestra ciudad que se pega a nuestros pies, nos lo sacudimos en protesta contra vosotros^a; empero sabed esto: que el reino de Dios se ha acercado^b». 12 Os digo que en aquel día será más tolerable el castigo para Sodoma que para aquella ciudad^a. 13 ^a¡Ay de ti Corazín! ¡Ay de ti Betsaida! Porque si los milagros¹ que se hicieron en vosotras hubieran sido hechos en Tiro y Sidón, hace tiempo que se hubieran arrepentido sentados en cilicio y ceniza^b. 14 Por eso, en el juicio será más tolerable el castigo para Tiro y Sidón^a que para vosotras. 15 Y tú, Capernaúm^a, ¿acaso serás elevada hasta los cielos? ¡Hasta el Hades¹ serás hundida^b! 16 El que a vosotros escucha, a mí me escucha^a, y el que a vosotros rechaza, a mí me rechaza; y el que a mí me rechaza, rechaza al que me envió^b.

17 Los setenta¹ regresaron con gozo, diciendo: Señor, hasta los demonios se nos sujetan en tu nombre^a. 18 Y Él les dijo: Yo veía a Satanás^a caer del cielo como un rayo. 19 Mirad, os he dado autoridad para hollar sobre serpientes^a y escorpiones, y sobre todo el poder del enemigo, y nada os hará daño. 20 Sin embargo, no os regocijéis en esto, de que los espíritus se os sometan, sino regocijaos de que vuestros nombres están escritos en los cielos^a.

21 ^aEn aquella misma hora Él se regocijó mucho en el Espíritu Santo, y dijo: Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque ocultaste estas cosas a sabios y a inteligentes, y las revelaste a niños. Sí, Padre, porque así fue de tu agrado. 22 Todas las cosas me han sido entregadas^a por mi Padre, y nadie sabe quién es el Hijo sino el Padre, ni quién es el Padre sino el Hijo^b, y aquel a quien el Hijo se lo quiera revelar. 23 ^aY volviéndose hacia los discípulos, les dijo aparte: Dichosos los ojos que ven lo que vosotros veis; 24 porque os digo que muchos profetas y reyes desearon ver lo que vosotros veis, y no lo vieron, y oír lo que vosotros oís, y no lo oyeron.

25 ^aY he aquí, cierto intérprete de la ley¹ se levantó, y para ponerle² a prueba^b dijo: Maestro, ¿qué haré para heredar la vida eterna? 26 Y Él le dijo: ¿Qué está escrito en la ley? ¿Qué¹ lees en ella? 27 Respondiendo él, dijo: AMARÁS AL SEÑOR TU DIOS CON TODO TU CORAZÓN, Y CON TODA TU ALMA, Y CON TODA TU FUERZA, Y CON TODA TU MENTE; Y A TU PRÓJIMO COMO A TI MISMO^a. 28 Entonces Jesús le dijo: Has respondido correctamente; HAZ ESTO Y VIVIRÁS^a. 29 Pero queriendo él justificarse a sí mismo^a, dijo a Jesús: ¿Y quién es mi prójimo?

30 Respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Cierto hombre bajaba de Jerusalén^a a Jericó, y cayó en manos de salteadores, los cuales después de despojarlo y de darle golpes, se fueron, dejándolo medio muerto. 31 Por casualidad cierto sacerdote bajaba por aquel camino, y cuando lo vio, pasó por el otro lado del camino. 32 Del mismo modo, también un levita, cuando llegó al lugar y lo vio, pasó por el otro lado del camino. 33 Pero cierto samaritano^a, que iba de viaje, llegó adonde él estaba; y cuando lo vio, tuvo compasión, 34 y acercándose, le vendó sus heridas, derramando aceite y vino sobre ellas; y poniéndolo sobre su propia cabalgadura, lo llevó a un mesón y lo cuidó. 35 Al día siguiente, sacando dos denarios¹, se los dio al mesonero, y dijo: «Cuídalo, y todo lo demás que gastes, cuando yo regrese te lo pagaré». 36 ¿Cuál de estos tres piensas tú que demostró ser prójimo del que cayó en manos de los salteadores? 37 Y él dijo: El que tuvo misericordia de él. Y Jesús le dijo: Ve y haz tú lo mismo.

38 Mientras iban ellos de camino, Él entró en cierta aldea; y una mujer llamada Marta^a le recibió en su casa. 39 Y ella tenía una hermana que se llamaba María^a, que¹ sentada a los pies del Señor, escuchaba su palabra^b. 40 Pero Marta^a se preocupaba con todos los preparativos¹; y acercándose a Él, le dijo: Señor, ¿no te importa que mi hermana me deje servir sola? Dile, pues, que me ayude. 41 Respondiendo el Señor, le dijo: Marta, Marta^a, tú estás preocupada y molesta por tantas cosas^b; 42 pero una sola cosa es necesaria^1a, y² María^b ha escogido la parte buena, la cual no le será quitada.

Now after this ^athe Lord appointed ¹seventy ^bothers, and sent them ^cin pairs ahead of Him to every city and place where He Himself was going to come. 2 And He was saying to them, “^aThe harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. 3 Go; ^abehold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. 4 ^aCarry no money belt, no ¹bag, no shoes; and greet no one on the way. 5 Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house.’ 6 If a ¹man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. 7 Stay in ¹that house, eating and drinking ²what they give you; for ^athe laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house. 8 Whatever city you enter and they receive you, ^aeat what is set before you; 9 and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, ‘^aThe kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10 But whatever city you enter and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, 11 ‘^aEven the dust of your city which clings to our feet we wipe off in protest against you; yet ¹be sure of this, that ^bthe kingdom of God has come near.’ 12 I say to you, ^ait will be more tolerable in that day for ^bSodom than for that city.

13 “^aWoe to you, ^bChorazin! Woe to you, ^cBethsaida! For if the ¹miracles had been performed in ^dTyre and Sidon which occurred in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in ^2esackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more tolerable for ^aTyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you. 15 And you, ^aCapernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to Hades!

16 “^aThe one who listens to you listens to Me, and ^bthe one who rejects you rejects Me; and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.”

17 The ¹seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even ^athe demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18 And He said to them, “I was watching ^aSatan fall from heaven like lightning. 19 Behold, I have given you authority to ^atread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that ^ayour names are recorded in heaven.”

21 ^aAt that very ¹time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I ²praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight. 22 ^aAll things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and ^bno one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”

23 ^aTurning to the disciples, He said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see, 24 for I say to you, that many prophets and kings wished to see the things which you see, and did not see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and did not hear them.”

25 ^aAnd a ^1blawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 And He said to him, “What is written in the Law? ¹How does it read to you?” 27 And he answered, “^aYOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.” 28 And He said to him, “You have answered correctly; ^aDO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE.” 29 But wishing ^ato justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

30 Jesus replied and said, “A man was ^agoing down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and ¹beat him, and went away leaving him half dead. 31 And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a ^aSamaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion, 34 and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 On the next day he took out two ¹denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you.’ 36 Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers’ hands?” 37 And he said, “The one who showed mercy toward him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do ¹the same.”

38 Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named ^aMartha welcomed Him into her home. 39 She had a sister called ^aMary, who was ^bseated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. 40 But ^aMartha was distracted with ¹all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered and said to her, “^aMartha, Martha, you are ^bworried and bothered about so many things; 42 ^abut only one thing is necessary, for ^bMary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
