Discurso de Bildad

Entonces respondió Bildad suhita, y dijo:

2 ¿Hasta cuándo hablarás estas cosas,y serán viento impetuoso las palabras de tu boca^a?3 ¿Acaso tuerce Dios la justiciao tuerce el Todopoderoso¹ lo que es justo^a?4 Si tus hijos pecaron contra Él,entonces Él los entregó al poder¹ de su transgresión^a.5 Si tú buscaras a Diose imploraras la misericordia del Todopoderoso¹^a,6 si fueras puro y recto,ciertamente Él se despertaría ahora en tu favor^ay restauraría tu justa condición¹^b.7 Aunque tu principio haya sido insignificante,con todo, tu final aumentará sobremanera^a.

8 Pregunta, te ruego, a las generaciones pasadas,y considera las cosas escudriñadas por sus padres^a.9 Porque nosotros somos de ayer y nada sabemos,pues nuestros días sobre la tierra son como una sombra^a.10 ¿No te instruirán ellos y te hablarán,y de sus corazones sacarán palabras?

11 ¿Puede crecer el papiro sin cenagal?¿Puede el junco crecer sin agua?12 Estando aún verde y sin cortar,con todo, se seca antes que cualquier otra planta¹.13 Así son las sendas de todos los que se olvidan de Dios^a,y la esperanza del impío perecerá^b,14 porque es frágil su confianza,y una tela¹ de araña^a su seguridad.15 Confía¹ en su casa, peroesta no se sostiene;se aferra a ella, peroesta no perdura^a.16 Crece con vigor¹ delante del sol^a,y sus renuevos brotan sobre su jardín^b.17 Sus raíces se entrelazan sobre un montón de rocas;vive en¹ una casa de piedras.18 Si se le arranca¹ de su lugar,este le negará, diciendo: «Nunca te vi^a».19 He aquí, este es el gozo^a de su camino¹;y del polvo brotarán otros.20 He aquí, Dios no rechaza al íntegro¹^a,ni sostiene a² los malhechores^b.21 Aún ha de llenar de risa tu boca,y tus labios de gritos de júbilo^a.22 Los que te odian serán cubiertos de vergüenza^a,y la tienda de los impíos no existirá más^b.

Bildad Says God Rewards the Good

Then Bildad the Shuhite ¹answered,

2 “How long will you say these things,And the ^awords of your mouth be a mighty wind?3 “Does ^aGod pervert justice?Or does ¹the Almighty pervert what is right?4 “^aIf your sons sinned against Him,Then He delivered them into the ¹power of their transgression.5 “If you would ^aseek GodAnd implore the compassion of ¹the Almighty,6 If you are pure and upright,Surely now ^aHe would rouse Himself for youAnd restore your righteous ¹^bestate.7 “Though your beginning was insignificant,Yet your ^aend will increase greatly.

8 “Please ^ainquire of past generations,And consider the things searched out by their fathers.9 “For we are only of yesterday and know nothing,Because ^aour days on earth are as a shadow.10 “Will they not teach you and tell you,And bring forth words from their minds?

11 “Can the papyrus grow up without a marsh?Can the rushes grow without water?12 “While it is still green and not cut down,Yet it withers before any other ¹plant.13 “So are the paths of ^aall who forget God;And the ^bhope of the godless will perish,14 Whose confidence is fragile,And whose trust a ^aspider’s ¹web.15 “He ¹trusts in his ^ahouse, but it does not stand;He holds fast to it, but it does not endure.16 “He ¹^athrives before the sun,And his ^bshoots spread out over his garden.17 “His roots wrap around a rock pile,He ¹grasps a house of stones.18 “If he is ¹removed from ^ahis place,Then it will deny him, saying, ‘^bI never saw you.’19 “Behold, ^athis is the joy of His way;And out of the dust others will spring.20 “Lo, ^aGod will not reject a man of integrity,Nor ^bwill He ¹support the evildoers.21 “He will yet fill ^ayour mouth with laughterAnd your lips with shouting.22 “Those who hate you will be ^aclothed with shame,And the ^btent of the wicked will be no longer.”
