Estaré en mi puesto de guardiaa,y sobre la fortaleza me pondré;velaréb para ver lo que Él me dicec,y qué he de responder cuando sea reprendido1.

2 Entonces el SEÑOR me respondió, y dijo:Escribe la visión y grábala en tablasa,para que corra el que la lea1.3 Porque es aún visión para el tiempo señaladoa;se apresura1 hacia el fin y no defraudará2.Aunque tarde, espéralab;porque ciertamente vendrá, no tardarác.
4 He aquí el orgullosoa:en él, su alma no es recta,mas el justo por su fe1 viviráb.5 Además, el vinoa traiciona al hombre arroganteb,de modo que no se queda en casac.Porque ensancha su garganta1 como el Seol2d,y es como la muerte, que nunca se sacia;reúne para sí todas las naciones,y recoge para sí todos los pueblos.
6 ¿No pronunciarán todosestos contra él una sátiraa,y burlas e intrigas contra él?Y dirán1: «¡Ay del que aumenta lo que no es suyob(¿hasta cuándo?)y se hace rico2 con préstamos!».7 ¿No se levantarán de repente tus acreedores1a,y se despertarán tus cobradores2?Ciertamente serás despojo para ellos.8 Porque tú has despojado a muchas naciones,todos los demás pueblos te despojarán a tia,por la sangre humana y la violencia hecha a la tierra,al pueblo y a todos sus habitantes.
9 ¡Ay del que obtiene ganancias ilícitas para su casaa,para poner en alto su nidob,para librarse de la mano1 de la calamidad!10 Has maquinado cosa vergonzosa para tu casaa,destruyendo a muchos pueblos,pecando contra ti mismob.11 Ciertamente la piedra clamará desde el muroa,y la viga le contestará desde el armazón1.
12 ¡Ay del que edifica una ciudad con sangrey funda un pueblo1 con violencia2a!13 ¿No viene1 del SEÑOR de los ejércitosque los pueblos trabajen para el fuegoay las naciones se fatiguen en vano?14 Pues la tierra se llenarádel conocimiento de la gloria del SEÑORcomo las aguas cubren el mara.
15 ¡Ay del que da de beber a su prójimo!¡Ay de ti que mezclas tu veneno hasta embriagarlo,para contemplar su desnudez1!16 Serás saciado de deshonra más que de gloria.Bebe tú también y muestra tu desnudez1a.Se volverá sobre ti el cáliz de la diestra del SEÑORb,y la ignominiac sobre tu gloria.17 Porque la violencia contra el1 Líbano te cubriráa,y el exterminio de las fieras te2 aterrará,a causa del derramamiento de sangre humana y la violencia hecha a la tierra,a la ciudad y a todos los que habitan en ellab.
18 ¿De qué sirve el ídolo1 que su artífice ha esculpidoa,o la imagen fundida, maestra de mentirasb,para que su hacedor confíe en su obracuando hace ídolos mudosc?19 ¡Ay del que dice al maderoa: «Despiertab»,o a la piedra muda: «Levántate»!¿Será esto tu maestro?1He aquí, está cubierto de oro y plata,y no hay aliento alguno en su interiorc.20 Pero el SEÑOR está en su santo temploa:calle delante de Él toda la tierrab.

God Answers the Prophet
I will astand on my guard postAnd station myself on the rampart;And I will bkeep watch to see cwhat He will speak to me,And how I may reply 1when I am reproved.2 Then the LORD answered me and said,“aRecord the visionAnd inscribe it on tablets,That 1the one who 2reads it may run.3 “For the vision is yet for the aappointed time;It 1hastens toward the goal and it will not 2fail.Though it tarries, bwait for it;For it will certainly come, it cwill not delay.
4 “Behold, as for the aproud one,His soul is not right within him;But the brighteous will live by his 1faith.5 “Furthermore, awine betrays the bhaughty man,So that he does not cstay at home.He denlarges his appetite like Sheol,And he is like death, never satisfied.He also gathers to himself all nationsAnd collects to himself all peoples.
6 “Will not all of these atake up a taunt-song against him,Even mockery and insinuations against himAnd say, ‘bWoe to him who increases what is not his—For how long—And makes himself 1rich with loans?’7 “Will not 1your creditors arise up suddenly,And those who 2collect from you awaken?Indeed, you will become plunder for them.8 “Because you have alooted many nations,All the remainder of the peoples will loot you—Because of human bloodshed and violence 1done to the land,To the town and all its inhabitants.
9 “Woe to him who gets aevil gain for his houseTo bput his nest on high,To be delivered from the hand of calamity!10 “You have devised a ashameful thing for your houseBy cutting off many peoples;So you are bsinning against yourself.11 “Surely the astone will cry out from the wall,And the rafter will answer it from the 1framework.
12 “Woe to him who abuilds a city with bloodshedAnd founds a town with 1violence!13 “Is it not indeed from the LORD of hostsThat peoples atoil for fire,And nations grow weary for nothing?14 “For the earth will be afilledWith the knowledge of the glory of the LORD,As the waters cover the sea.
15 “Woe to you who make 1your neighbors drink,Who mix in your venom even to make them drunkSo as to look on their nakedness!16 “You will be filled with disgrace rather than honor.Now you yourself adrink and 1expose your own nakedness.The bcup in the LORD’S right hand will come around to you,And cutter disgrace will come upon your glory.17 “For the aviolence 1done to Lebanon will 2overwhelm you,And the devastation of its beasts 3by which you terrified them,bBecause of human bloodshed and cviolence 4done to the land,To the town and all its inhabitants.
18 “What aprofit is the 1idol when its maker has carved it,Or 2an image, a bteacher of falsehood?For its maker ctrusts in his own handiworkWhen he fashions speechless idols.19 “Woe to him who asays to a piece of wood, ‘bAwake!’To a mute stone, ‘Arise!’And that is your teacher?Behold, it is overlaid with cgold and silver,And there is dno breath at all inside it.20 “But the aLORD is in His holy temple.1Let all the earth bbe silent before Him.”
