No te alegres, Israel, con1 gran júbiloa como las naciones2,porque te has prostituido, abandonando a3 tu Diosb;has amado el salario de ramera sobre todas las eras de grano.2 Ni la era ni el lagar los alimentarána,y el mosto les1 faltará.3 No permanecerán en la tierra del SEÑORa,sino que Efraín volverá a Egiptob,y en Asiriac comerán cosas inmundasd.4 No harán libaciones de vino al SEÑORa,ni le serán gratos sus sacrificiosb.Su pan les será como pan de duelo1,todos los que lo coman se contaminaránc,porque su pan serásolo para ellos2,no entrará en la casa del SEÑOR.5 ¿Qué haréis el día de la fiesta señaladaay el día de la fiesta del SEÑORb?6 Pues, he aquí, se irán a causa de la destrucción;Egipto los recogerá, Menfis los sepultaráa.La ortiga1 poseerá sus tesoros de plata;cardos crecerán en sus tiendasb.
7 Han llegado los días del castigoa,han llegado los días de la retribuciónb;¡que lo sepa Israel1!Un insensato es el profetac,un loco el hombre inspirado2d,a causa de la magnitud de tu culpae,y por tu mucha hostilidad.8 Vigía con mi Dios era Efraín, un profeta;sin embargo el lazo de cazador1 está en todos sus caminos,y en la casa de su Dios haysolo hostilidad.9 Se han corrompido profundamente1acomo en los días de Guibeáb;Él se acordará de su iniquidadc,castigará sus pecados.
10 Como uvas en el desiertoa hallé a Israel;como las primicias de la higuera en su primera cosecha1b vi a vuestros padres.Pero fueron a Baal-peorc y se consagraron a la vergüenza2d,y se hicieron tan abominables como lo que amabane.11 Como un ave volará de Efraín su gloriaa:no habrá nacimiento, ni embarazo, ni concepción.12 Aunque críen a sus hijos,se los quitaré hasta que no quede hombre alguno1.Sí, ¡ay de ellos también cuando de ellos me apartea!13 Efraín, según he visto,está como Tiroa, plantado en pradera hermosa;pero Efraín sacará a sus hijos al verdugo.14 Dales, oh SEÑOR, ¿qué les darás?Dales matriz que abortea y pechos secos.
15 Toda su maldad está en Gilgala;allí, pues, los aborrecí.Por la maldad de sus hechosblos expulsaré de mi casa,no los amaré más;todos sus príncipes son rebeldesc.16 Efraín está herido, su raíz está secaa;no darán más frutob.Aunque den a luz,yo mataré el fruto1 de su vientrec.17 Mi Dios los desecharáporque no le han escuchadoa,y andarán errantes entre las nacionesb.

aDo not rejoice, O Israel, 1with exultation like the 2nations!For you have bplayed the harlot, 3forsaking your God.You have loved harlots’ earnings on 4every threshing floor.2 Threshing floor and wine press will anot feed them,And the new wine will fail 1them.3 They will not remain in athe LORD’S land,But Ephraim will return to bEgypt,And in cAssyria they will eat dunclean food.4 They will not pour out drink offerings of awine to the LORD,bTheir sacrifices will not please Him.Their bread will 1be like 2mourners’ bread;All who eat of it will be cdefiled,For their bread will be for 3themselves alone;It will not enter the house of the LORD.5 aWhat will you do on the day of the appointed festivalAnd on the day of the bfeast of the LORD?6 For behold, they will go because of destruction;Egypt will gather them up, aMemphis will bury them.Weeds will take over their treasures of silver;bThorns will be in their tents.
7 The days of apunishment have come,The days of bretribution have come;1Let Israel know this!The prophet is a cfool,The 2inspired man is ddemented,Because of the grossness of your einiquity,And because your hostility is so great.8 Ephraim was a watchman with my God, a prophet;Yet the snare of a bird catcher is in all his ways,And there is only hostility in the house of his God.9 They have gone adeep 1in depravityAs in the days of bGibeah;He will cremember their iniquity,He will punish their sins.
10 I found Israel like agrapes in the wilderness;I saw your forefathers as the bearliest fruit on the fig tree in its first season.But they came to cBaal-peor and devoted themselves to 1dshame,And they became as edetestable as that which they loved.11 As for Ephraim, their aglory will fly away like a bird—No birth, no pregnancy and no conception!12 Though they bring up their children,Yet I will bereave them 1until not a man is left.Yes, awoe to them indeed when I depart from them!13 Ephraim, as I have seen,Is planted in a pleasant meadow like aTyre;But Ephraim will bring out his children for slaughter.14 Give them, O LORD—what will You give?Give them a amiscarrying womb and dry breasts.
15 All their evil is at aGilgal;Indeed, I came to hate them there!Because of the bwickedness of their deedsI will drive them out of My house!I will love them no more;All their princes are crebels.16 aEphraim is stricken, their root is dried up,They will bear bno fruit.Even though they bear children,I will slay the cprecious ones of their womb.17 My God will cast them awayBecause they have anot listened to Him;And they will be bwanderers among the nations.

aDo not rejoice, O Israel, with exultation as do the pagan peoples,For you have bplayed the prostitute, turning away from your God.You have loved prostitutes’ earnings on every threshing floor attributing the harvest to the Baals instead of to God.2 The threshing floor and the wine press will ano longer feed them,And the new wine will fail them because they failed to honor the God who provides.3 They will not remain in athe land of the LORD,But Ephraim will return to another bEgypt in bondageAnd they will eat ceremonially cunclean food in dAssyria. 2+@Kin 25:26; Ezek 4:134 They will not pour out drink offerings of awine to the LORD;bTheir sacrifices will not please Him.Their bread will be like mourners’ bread eaten at funerals;All who eat it will be ceremonially cunclean,For their bread will be for themselves;It will not enter the house of the LORD to be consecrated.5 aWhat will you do on the day of the appointed festivalAnd on the day of the bfeast of the LORD when you are in exile?6 For behold, they will go away because of devastation and destruction;Egypt will gather them up, aMemphis will bury them.Weeds will take over their treasures of silver;bThorns will grow in their tents.
7 The days of apunishment have come;The days of bretribution are at hand;Let Israel know this!The prophet is considered a cfool;The man of God who is inspired is treated as if ddemented,Because of the abundance of your ewickedness and guilt,And because your deep antagonism toward God and the prophets is so great. 10 I found Israel like agrapes in the wilderness an unexpected and refreshing delight;I saw your fathers (ancestors) as the bfirst ripe fruit on the fig tree in its first season,But they came to cBaal-peor and consecrated themselves to dshamefulness the worship of Baal,And because of their spiritual and physical adultery they became as edetestable and loathsome as the thing they loved.11 As for Ephraim, their aglory will fly away like a bird;No birth, no pregnancy, and because of their impurity no conception.12 Even though they bring up their children,Yet I will bereave them until not one is left.aIndeed, woe (judgment is coming) to them when I look away and withdraw My blessing from them!13 Ephraim, as I have seen,Is planted in a pleasant and prosperous meadow like aTyre;But Ephraim will bring out his children to the executioner for slaughter.14 Give them the punishment they deserve, O LORD! What will You give?Give them a amiscarrying womb and dry breasts.
15 All their wickedness says the LORD is focused in aGilgal;Indeed, I came to hate them there!Because of the bwickedness of their idolatrous practicesI will drive them out of My house (the land of Israel) !I will love them no longer;All their princes are crebels.
