Hay un tiempo señalado para todo, y hay un tiempo para cada suceso^1a bajo el cielo:

9 ¿Qué saca el trabajador de aquello en que se afana^a? 10 He visto la tarea que Dios ha dado a los hijos de los hombres para que en ella se ocupen^a. 11 Él ha hecho todo^a apropiado a¹ su tiempo. También ha puesto la eternidad en sus corazones; sin embargo², el hombre no descubre la obra que Dios ha hecho^b desde el principio hasta el fin.

12 Sé que no hay nada mejor para ellos que regocijarse y hacer el bien en su vida^a; 13 además, que todo hombre que coma y beba y vea lo bueno en todo su trabajo, eso es don de Dios^a.

16 Aun he visto más bajo el sol:que en el lugar del derecho, está¹ la impiedad,y en el lugar de la justicia, está² la iniquidad^a. 17 Yo dije en mi corazón:al justo como al impío juzgará Dios^a,porque¹ hay un tiempo para cada cosa² y para cada obra^b. 18 Dije además en mi corazón en cuanto a los hijos de los hombres: Ciertamente Dios los ha probado para que vean que sonsolo animales^a. 19 Porque la suerte de los hijos de los hombres y la suerte de los animales es la misma^1a: como muere el uno así muere el otro. Todos tienen un mismo aliento de vida; el hombre no tiene ventaja sobre los animales, porque todo es vanidad.

21 ¿Quién sabe que el aliento de vida del hombre asciende hacia arriba^a y el aliento de vida del animal desciende hacia abajo, a la tierra? 22 Y he visto que no hay nada mejor para el hombre que gozarse en sus obras^a, porque esa es su suerte. Porque ¿quién le hará ver lo que ha de suceder después de él^b?

There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a ^atime for every ¹event under heaven—

9 ^aWhat profit is there to the worker from that in which he toils? 10 I have seen the ^atask which God has given the sons of men with which to occupy themselves.

11 He has ^amade everything ¹appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, ²yet so that man ^bwill not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.

12 I know that there is ^anothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one’s lifetime; 13 moreover, that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor—it is the ^agift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has so worked that men should ^1afear Him. 15 That ^awhich is has been already and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed by.

16 Furthermore, I have seen under the sun that in the place of justice there is ^awickedness and in the place of righteousness there is wickedness. 17 I said ¹to myself, “^aGod will judge both the righteous man and the wicked man,” for a ^btime for every ²matter and for every deed is there. 18 I said ¹to myself concerning the sons of men, “God has surely tested them in order for them to see that they are but ^abeasts.” 19 ^aFor the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts ¹is the same. As one dies so dies the other; indeed, they all have the same breath and there is no advantage for man over beast, for all is ²vanity. 20 All go to the same place. All came from the ^adust and all return to the dust. 21 Who knows that the ^abreath of man ascends upward and the breath of the beast descends downward to the earth? 22 I have seen that ^anothing is better than that man should be happy in his activities, for that is his lot. For who will bring him to see ^bwhat will occur after him?

All came from the ^adust and all return to the dust. 21 Who knows that the ^aspirit of the sons of mankind ascends upward and the spirit of the animal descends downward to the earth? 22 I have seen that ^anothing is better than when a person is happy in his activities, for that is his ¹lot. For who will bring him to see ^bwhat will occur after him?

There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a ^atime for every delight and event or purpose under heaven—

9 ^aWhat profit is there for the worker from that in which he labors? 10 I have seen the ^atask which God has given to the sons of men with which to occupy themselves.

11 He has ^amade everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity a sense of divine purpose in the human heart a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God—yet man ^bcannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.

12 I know that there is ^anothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good as long as they live; 13 and also that every man should eat and drink and see and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the ^agift of God. 14 I know that whatever God does, it endures forever; nothing can be added to it nor can anything be taken from it, for God does it so that men will ^afear and worship Him with awe-filled reverence, knowing that He is God. Ps 19:9; James 1:17 15 That ^awhich is has already been, and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed by so that history repeats itself.

16 Moreover, I have seen under the sun that in the place of justice there is ^awickedness, and in the place of righteousness there is wickedness. 17 I said to myself, “^aGod will judge both the righteous and the wicked,” for there is a ^btime appointed for every matter and for every deed. 18 I said to myself regarding the sons of men, “God is surely testing them in order for them to see that by themselves, without God they are only ^aanimals.” 19 ^aFor the earthly fate of the sons of men and the fate of animals is the same. As one dies, so dies the other; indeed, they all have the same breath and there is no preeminence or advantage for man in and of himself over an animal, for all is vanity. 20 All go to the same place. All came from the ^adust and all return to the dust. 21 Who knows if the ^aspirit of man ascends upward and the spirit of the animal descends downward to the earth? 22 So I have seen that there is ^anothing better than that a man should be happy in his own works and activities, for that is his portion (share) . For who will bring him back to see ^bwhat will happen after he is gone?
