Y cierto día Pedro y Juan^a subían al templo a la hora novena¹, la de la oración^b. 2 Y había un hombre, cojo desde su nacimiento^1a, al que llevaban y ponían diariamente a la puerta^b del templo llamada la Hermosa, para que pidiera limosna^c a los que entraban al templo. 3 Este, viendo a Pedro y a Juan^a que iban a entrar al templo, les pedía limosna. 4 Entonces Pedro, junto con Juan, fijando su vista^a en él, le dijo: ¡Míranos! 5 Y él los miró atentamente¹, esperando recibir algo de ellos. 6 Pero Pedro dijo: No tengo plata ni oro, mas lo que tengo, te doy: en el nombre de Jesucristo el Nazareno^a, ¡anda¹! 7 Y asiéndolo de la mano derecha, lo levantó; al instante sus pies y tobillos cobraron fuerza, 8 y de un salto¹ se puso en pie y andaba^a. Entró al templo con ellos caminando, saltando y alabando a Dios. 9 Todo el pueblo lo vio andar y alabar a Dios^a, 10 y reconocieron que era el mismo que se sentaba a la puerta del templo, la Hermosa, a pedir limosna^a, y se llenaron de asombro y admiración por lo que le había sucedido.

11 Y estando él asido de Pedro y de Juan^a, todo el pueblo, lleno de asombro, corrió al pórtico llamado de Salomón^b, donde ellos estaban. 12 Al ver esto Pedro, dijo al pueblo: Varones israelitas, ¿por qué os maravilláis de esto, o por qué nos miráis así, como si por nuestro propio poder o piedad le hubiéramos hecho andar? 13 El Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob^a, el Dios de nuestros padres^b, ha glorificado a su siervo¹ Jesús^c, al que vosotros entregasteis^d y repudiasteis en presencia de Pilato^e, cuandoeste había resuelto ponerle en libertad^f. 14 Mas vosotros repudiasteis al Santo y Justo^a, y pedisteis que se os concediera un asesino^b, 15 y disteis muerte al Autor^1a de la vida, al que Dios resucitó de entre los muertos^b, de lo cual nosotros somos testigos^c. 16 Y por la fe en su nombre^a, es el nombre de Jesús¹ lo que ha fortalecido a este hombre a quien veis y conocéis; y la fe que viene por medio de Él, le ha dado esta perfecta sanidad en presencia de todos vosotros. 17 Y ahora, hermanos, yo sé que obrasteis por ignorancia^a, lo mismo que vuestros gobernantes^b. 18 Pero Dios ha cumplido así lo que anunció de antemano^a por boca de todos los profetas: que su Cristo¹ debería padecer^b. 19 Por tanto, arrepentíos^a y convertíos, para que vuestros pecados sean borrados, a fin de que tiempos de refrigerio vengan de la presencia del Señor^b, 20 y Él envíe a Jesús, el Cristo¹ designado de antemano para vosotros, 21 a quien el cielo debe recibir^1a hasta el día² de la restauración de todas las cosas^b, acerca de lo cual Dios habló por boca de sus santos profetas desde tiempos antiguos^c. 22 Moisés dijo: EL SEÑOR DIOS OS LEVANTARÁ UN PROFETA COMO YO¹ DE ENTRE VUESTROS HERMANOS; A ÉL PRESTAREIS ATENCIÓN en todo cuanto os diga^a. 23 Y sucederá que todo el que^1a no preste atención a aquel profeta, será totalmente destruido de entre el pueblo. 24 Y asimismo todos los profetas^a que han hablado desde Samuel y sus sucesores en adelante, también anunciaron estos días. 25 Vosotros sois los hijos de los profetas^a y del pacto que Dios hizo¹ con vuestros padres^b, al decir a Abraham: Y EN TU SIMIENTE SERÁN BENDITAS TODAS LAS FAMILIAS DE LA TIERRA^c. 26 Para vosotros en primer lugar^a, Dios, habiendo resucitado^b a su Siervo¹, le ha enviado^c para que os bendiga, a fin de apartar a cada uno de vosotros de vuestras iniquidades.

Now ^aPeter and John were going up to the temple at the ¹ninth hour, ^bthe hour of prayer. 2 And ^aa man who had been lame from his mother’s womb was being carried along, whom they ^bused to set down every day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, ^cin order to beg ¹alms of those who were entering the temple. 3 When he saw ^aPeter and John about to go into the temple, he began asking to receive alms. 4 But Peter, along with John, ^afixed his gaze on him and said, “Look at us!” 5 And he began to give them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 But Peter said, “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: ^aIn the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—walk!” 7 And seizing him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened. 8 ^1aWith a leap he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. 9 And ^aall the people saw him walking and praising God; 10 and they were taking note of him as being the one who used to ^asit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to beg alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

11 While he was clinging to ^aPeter and John, all the people ran together to them at the so-called ^1bportico of Solomon, full of amazement. 12 But when Peter saw this, he replied to the people, “Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why do you gaze at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk? 13 ^aThe God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, ^bthe God of our fathers, has glorified His ^1cservant Jesus, the one whom ^dyou delivered and disowned in the presence of ^ePilate, when he had ^fdecided to release Him. 14 But you disowned ^athe Holy and Righteous One and ^basked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 but put to death the ^1aPrince of life, the one whom ^bGod raised from the dead, a fact to which we are ^cwitnesses. 16 And on the basis of faith ^ain His name, it is ¹the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.

17 “And now, brethren, I know that you acted ^ain ignorance, just as your ^brulers did also. 18 But the things which ^aGod announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, ^bthat His ¹Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. 19 Therefore ^arepent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that ^btimes of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; 20 and that He may send Jesus, the ¹Christ appointed for you, 21 ^awhom heaven must receive until the ¹period of ^brestoration of all things about which ^cGod spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time. 22 Moses said, ‘^aTHE LORD GOD WILL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET ¹LIKE ME FROM YOUR BRETHREN; TO HIM YOU SHALL GIVE HEED to everything He says to you. 23 ^aAnd it will be that every ^bsoul that does not heed that prophet ^cshall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ 24 And likewise, ^aall the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and his successors onward, also announced these days. 25 It is you who are ^athe sons of the prophets and of the ^bcovenant which God ¹made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘^cAND IN YOUR SEED ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.’ 26 For you ^afirst, God ^braised up His ¹Servant and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.”

17 “And now, brothers, I know that you acted ^ain ignorance, just as your ^brulers also did. 18 But the things which ^aGod previously announced by the mouths of all the prophets, ^bthat His ¹Christ would suffer, He has fulfilled in this way. 19 Therefore ^arepent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that ^btimes of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; 20 and that He may send Jesus, the ¹Christ appointed for you, 21 ^awhom heaven must receive until the ¹period of ^brestoration of all things, about which ^cGod spoke by the mouths of His holy prophets from ancient times. 22 Moses said, ‘^aTHE LORD GOD WILL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET LIKE ME FROM YOUR COUNTRYMEN; TO HIM YOU SHALL LISTEN regarding everything He says to you. 23 ^aAnd it shall be that every ^bsoul that does not listen to that prophet ^cshall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ 24 And likewise, ^aall the prophets who have spoken from Samuel and his successors onward, have also announced these days. 25 It is you who are ^athe sons of the prophets and of the ^bcovenant which God ordained with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘^cAND IN YOUR SEED ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.’ 26 God ^araised up His ¹Servant for you ^bfirst, and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.”

Now ^aPeter and John were going up to the temple at ^bthe hour of prayer, the ninth hour (3:00 p.m.) , 2 and ^aa man who had been unable to walk from birth was being carried along, whom ^bthey used to set down every day at that gate of the temple which is called ¹Beautiful, ^cso that he could beg alms from those entering the temple. 3 So when he saw ^aPeter and John about to go into the temple, he began asking them for coins. 4 But Peter, along with John, ^astared at him intently and said, “Look at us!” 5 And the man began to pay attention to them, eagerly expecting to receive something from them. 6 But Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have; but what I do have I give to you: ^aIn the name (authority, power) of Jesus Christ the Nazarene— begin now to walk and go on walking!” 7 Then he seized the man’s right hand with a firm grip and raised him up. And at once his feet and ankles became strong and steady, 8 ^aand with a leap he stood up and began to walk; and he went into the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. 9 All ^athe people saw him walking and praising God; 10 and they recognized him as the very man who usually ^asat begging for coins at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement and were mystified at what had happened to him.

11 Now while he was still holding on to ^aPeter and John, all the people, utterly amazed, ran together and crowded around them at the ^bcovered porch called Solomon’s portico. 12 And Peter, seeing this, said to the people, “You men of Israel, why are you amazed at this? Why are you staring at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? 13 ^aThe God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, ^bthe God of our fathers, has glorified His ^cServant and Son Jesus doing Him this honor, the One whom ^dyou handed over and disowned and rejected before ^ePilate, when he had ^fdecided to release Him. Ex 3:6; Is 52:13 14 But you disowned and denied ^athe Holy and Righteous One and ^basked for the pardon of a murderer to be granted to you. 15 But you killed the ^aPrince (Author, Originator, Source) of life, whom ^bGod raised bodily from the dead. To this fact we are ^cwitnesses for we have seen the risen Christ. 16 And on the basis of faith ^ain His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health and complete wholeness in your presence.

17 “Now, brothers, I know that you acted ^ain ignorance not fully aware of what you were doing, just as your ^brulers did also. 18 And so ^aGod has fulfilled what He foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, ^bthat His Christ (Messiah, Anointed) would suffer. 19 So ^arepent change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins and return to God—seek His purpose for your life, so that your sins may be wiped away blotted out, completely erased, so that ^btimes of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day; 20 and that He may send to you Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed for you, 21 ^awhom heaven must keep until the time for the complete ^brestoration of all things about which ^cGod promised through the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time. 22 Moses said, ‘^aTHE LORD GOD WILL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET ¹LIKE ME FROM YOUR COUNTRYMEN; YOU SHALL LISTEN TO HIM and OBEY everything He tells you. 23 ^aAnd it will be that every ^bperson that does not listen to and heed that Prophet ^cwill be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ Deut 18:15-19 24 Indeed, ^aall the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also announced these days. 25 You are ^athe sons (descendants) of the prophets and heirs of the ^bcovenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘^cAND IN YOUR SEED (descendant) ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.’ Gen 22:18; Gal 3:16 26 It was for you ^afirst of all that God ^braised up His Servant and Son Jesus, and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.” Acts 2:24; 3:22
