Reproches a Jerusalén y a las naciones

¡Ay de la rebelde^a y contaminada^b,la ciudad opresora^c!2 No escuchó la voz^a,ni aceptó la corrección^b.No confió en el SEÑOR^c,ni se acercó a su Dios^d.3 Sus príncipes en medio de ella son leones rugientes^a,sus jueces, lobos al anochecer^b;no dejan nada para la mañana.4 Sus profetas son temerarios, hombres pérfidos^a;sus sacerdotes han profanado el santuario,han violado la ley^b.5 El SEÑOR es justo^a en medio de ella^b;no cometerá injusticia^c.Cada mañana^d saca a luz su juicio,nunca falta;pero el injusto no conoce la vergüenza^e.6 Yo he exterminado naciones;sus torreones están en ruinas,hice desiertas sus calles^a,sin que nadie pase por ellas;sus ciudades están desoladas^b,sin hombre alguno, sin ningún habitante^c.7 Dije: «Ciertamente me temerás¹,aceptarás corrección^a».Entonces no será destruida su morada^ba pesar de todo lo que yo había determinado sobre ella;pero ellos se apresuraron a corromper todas sus acciones^c.

8 Por tanto, esperadme^a—declara el SEÑOR—hasta el día en que me levante como testigo¹,porque mi decisión es reunir a las naciones^b,juntar a los reinos,para derramar sobre ellos mi indignación,todo el ardor de mi ira;porque por el fuego de mi celotoda la tierra será consumida^c.9 En ese tiempo daré¹ a los pueblos labios puros^a,para que todos ellos invoquen el nombre del SEÑOR^b,para que le sirvan de común acuerdo².10 Desde más allá de los ríos de Etiopía¹^amis adoradores², mis³ dispersos,traerán mi ofrenda^b.11 Aquel día no te avergonzarás^ade ninguna de tus accionescon que te rebelaste contra mí;porque entonces yo quitaré de en medio de tia los que se regocijan en tu orgullo^b,y nunca más te envanecerásen mi santo monte^c.12 Y dejaré en medio de tiun pueblo humilde y pobre^a,que se refugiará en el nombre del SEÑOR^b.13 El remanente de Israel^a no hará injusticia^bni dirá mentira^c,ni se hallará en su bocalengua engañosa,porque ellos se alimentarán y reposarán^dsin que nadie los atemorice.

Júbilo por la restauración de Israel

14 Canta jubilosa, hija de Sión.Lanza gritos de alegría, Israel.Alégrate y regocíjate de todo corazón,hija de Jerusalén^a.15 El SEÑOR ha retirado sus juicios contra ti^a,ha expulsado a tus enemigos.El Rey de Israel, el SEÑOR, está en medio de ti^b;ya no temerás mal alguno^c.16 Aquel día^a le dirán a Jerusalén:No temas^b, Sión;no desfallezcan tus manos^c.17 El SEÑOR tu Dios está en medio de ti^a,guerrero victorioso¹^b;se gozará en ti con alegría^c,en su amor guardará silencio²,se regocijará por ti con cantos de júbilo.18 Reuniré a los que se afligen por las fiestas señaladas^a,tuyos son, oh Sión,el oprobio del destierro es una carga para ellos¹.19 He aquí, en aquel tiempo me ocuparéde todos tus opresores^a;salvaré a la cojay recogeré a la desterrada^b,y convertiré su vergüenza^c en alabanza y renombreen toda la tierra^d.20 En aquel tiempo os traeré^a,en aquel tiempo os reuniré;ciertamente, os daré renombre y alabanza^bentre todos los pueblos de la tierra,cuando yo haga volver a vuestros cautivos¹ ante vuestros ojos^c—dice el SEÑOR.

Woe to Jerusalem and the Nations

Woe to her who is ^arebellious and ^bdefiled,The ^ctyrannical city!2 She ^aheeded no voice,She ^baccepted no instruction.She did not ^ctrust in the LORD,She did not ^ddraw near to her God.3 Her ^aprinces within her are roaring lions,Her judges are ^bwolves at evening;They leave nothing for the morning.4 Her prophets are ^areckless, treacherous men;Her ^bpriests have profaned the sanctuary.They have done violence to the law.5 The LORD is ^arighteous ^bwithin her;He will ^cdo no injustice.^dEvery morning He brings His justice to light;He does not fail.But the unjust ^eknows no shame.6 “I have cut off nations;Their corner towers are in ruins.I have made their streets ^adesolate,With no one passing by;Their ^bcities are laid waste,Without a man, ^cwithout an inhabitant.7 “I said, ‘Surely you will revere Me,^aAccept instruction.’So her dwelling will ^bnot be cut offAccording to all that I have appointed concerning her.But they were eager to ^ccorrupt all their deeds.

8 “Therefore ^await for Me,” declares the LORD,“For the day when I rise up as a witness.Indeed, My decision is to ^bgather nations,To assemble kingdoms,To pour out on them My indignation,All My burning anger;For ^call the earth will be devouredBy the fire of My zeal.9 “For then I will ¹give to the peoples ^apurified lips,That all of them may ^bcall on the name of the LORD,To serve Him ²shoulder to shoulder.10 “From beyond the rivers of ^aEthiopiaMy ¹worshipers, ²My dispersed ones,Will ^bbring My offerings.11 “In that day you will ^afeel no shameBecause of all your deedsBy which you have rebelled against Me;For then I will remove from your midstYour ^bproud, exulting ones,And you will never again be haughtyOn My ^choly mountain.

A Remnant of Israel

12 “But I will leave among youA ^ahumble and lowly people,And they will ^btake refuge in the name of the LORD.13 “The ^aremnant of Israel will ^bdo no wrongAnd ^ctell no lies,Nor will a deceitful tongueBe found in their mouths;For they will ^dfeed and lie downWith no one to make them tremble.”

14 Shout for joy, O daughter of Zion!^aShout in triumph, O Israel!Rejoice and exult with all your heart,O daughter of Jerusalem!15 The LORD has taken away ^aHis judgments against you,He has cleared away your enemies.The King of Israel, the LORD, is ^bin your midst;You will ^cfear disaster no more.16 ^aIn that day it will be said to Jerusalem:“^bDo not be afraid, O Zion;^cDo not let your hands fall limp.17 “The LORD your God is ^ain your midst,A ¹^bvictorious warrior.He will ^cexult over you with joy,He will ²be quiet in His love,He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.18 “I will gather those who ^agrieve about the appointed feasts—They ¹came from you, O Zion;The reproach of exile is a burden on ²them.19 “Behold, I am going to deal at that timeWith all your ^aoppressors,I will save the ^blameAnd gather the outcast,And I will turn their ^cshame into ^dpraise and renownIn all the earth.20 “At that time I will ^abring you in,Even at the time when I gather you together;Indeed, I will give you ^brenown and praiseAmong all the peoples of the earth,When I ^crestore your fortunes before your eyes,”Says the LORD.

Woe (judgment is coming) to her who is ^arebellious and ^bdefiled,The ^ctyrannical city Jerusalem!2 She did not ^alisten and heed the voice of God;She ^baccepted no correction.She did not ^ctrust in the LORD but trusted her own power;She did not ^ddraw near to her God but to the pagan gods of Baal or Molech.3 Her ^aofficials within her are roaring lions;Her judges are as hungry as ^bthe wolves at evening,They leave nothing for the morning.4 Her prophets are ^areckless and treacherous men;Her ^bpriests have profaned the sanctuary;They have done violence to the law by pretending their word is God’s word. Jer 23:11; Ezek 22:26; Hos 9:75 The LORD is ^arighteous ^bwithin her;He will ^cdo no injustice.^dEvery morning He brings His justice to light;He does not fail.But the unjust person ^eknows no shame.6 “I the LORD have cut off and destroyed nations as a warning to Judah;Their corner towers (battlements) are in ruins.I have made their streets ^adesolateSo that no one passes by;Their ^bcities are destroyedSo that there is no man, there is ^cno inhabitant.7 “I said, ‘Most certainly you will reverently fear Me;^aAccept correction.’So Jerusalem’s dwelling will ^bnot be cut offIn accordance with all that I have appointed concerning her punishment,But they were eager even rising early to make all their deeds ^ccorrupt. Jer 7:13

8 “Therefore you of the godly remnant of Judah, patiently ^await for Me,” declares the LORD,“Wait for the day when I rise up as a witness against the nations.For it is My decision and My right to ^bgather the nations,To assemble kingdoms,To pour out on them My indignation,All the heat of My burning anger;For in that day ^call the earth shall be consumedBy the fire of My zeal.9 “Then I will give to the peoples clear and pure speech from ^apurified lips which reflect their purified hearts,That all of them may ^bcall on the name of the LORD,To serve Him shoulder to shoulder (united) .10 “From beyond the rivers of ^aEthiopiaMy worshipers, the descendants of My dispersed ones,Will ^bbring My offerings.11 “On that day you Israel will ^afeel no shameBecause of all your actsBy which you have rebelled and sinned against Me;Then I will remove from among youYour rejoicing ones who delight in their ^bpride;And you will never again behave arrogantlyOn My ^choly mountain Mount Zion.

A Remnant of Israel

12 “But I will leave among youA ^ahumble and lowly people,And they will ^btake refuge and trust confidently in the name of the LORD.13 “The ^aremnant of Israel will ^bdo no wrongNor ^cspeak lies,Nor will a deceitful tongueBe found in their mouths;For they will ^deat and lie downWith no one to make them tremble and feel afraid.”

14 Shout for joy, O Daughter of Zion!^aShout in triumph, O Israel!Rejoice, be in high spirits and glory with all your heart,O Daughter of Jerusalem in that day!15 The LORD has taken away ^athe judgments against you;He has cleared away your enemies.The King of Israel, even the LORD Himself, is ^bin your midst;You will no longer ^cfear disaster.16 ^aIn that day it will be said to Jerusalem:“^bDo not be afraid, O Zion;^cDo not let your hands fall limp.17 “The LORD your God is ^ain your midst,A ^bWarrior who saves.He will ^crejoice over you with joy;He will be quiet in His love making no mention of your past sins,He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.18 “I will gather those Israelites in captivity who ^agrieve about the appointed feasts—They came from you, O Zion;On whom the reproach of exile is a burden.19 “Behold, at that time I am going to dealWith all ^ayour oppressors;I will save the ^blameAnd gather the scattered,And I will turn their ^cshame into ^dpraise and renownIn every land where they have suffered. Mic 4:6, 720 “At that time I will ^abring you in,Yes, at the time I gather you together;For I will make you a ^bname and a praiseAmong all the peoples of the earthWhen I ^crestore your fortunes and freedom before your eyes,”Says the LORD.
