Lamento por la corrupción de Israel

¡Ay de mí!, porque soycomo los recogedores de frutos de verano, como los rebuscadores en la vendimia^a.No hay racimo de uvas que comer,ni higo temprano que tanto deseo¹^b.2 Ha desaparecido¹ el bondadoso² de la tierra^a,y no hay ninguno recto entre los hombres.Todos acechan para derramar sangre^b,unos a otros se echan la red^c.3 Para el mal^a las dos manos¹ son diestras.El príncipe pide, y también el juez, una recompensa;el grande habla de lo que desea su alma,y juntos lo traman^b.4 El mejor de ellos es como un zarzal,y el más recto como un seto de espinos^a.El día que pongas tus centinelas,tu castigo llegará^b.¡Entonces será su confusión^c!5 No os fiéis del vecino,ni confiéis en el amigo^a.De la que reposa en tu seno,guarda tus labios¹.6 Porque el hijo trata con desdén al padre,la hija se levanta contra la madre,y la nuera contra su suegra^a;los enemigos del hombre son los¹ de su propia casa^b.

Dios, fuente de luz y salvación

7 Pero yo pondré mis ojos^a en el SEÑOR,esperaré en el Dios de mi salvación^b;mi Dios me oirá^c.8 No te alegres^a de mí, enemiga mía^b.Aunque caiga, me levantaré^c,aunque more en tinieblas, el SEÑOR es mi luz^d.

9 La indignación del SEÑOR soportaré,porque he pecado contra Él,hasta que defienda mi causa^a y establezca mi derecho.Él me sacará a la luz^b,y yo veré su justicia^c.10 Entonces mi enemiga lo verá,y se cubrirá de vergüenza la que me decía:¿Dónde está el SEÑOR tu Dios^a?Mis ojos la contemplarán;entonces¹ será pisoteada²como el lodo de las calles^b.11 Viene el día para la edificación de tus muros^a;aquel día se extenderán tus límites.12 Viene el día cuando ellos vendrán¹ hasta tidesde Asiria y las ciudades de Egipto^a;desde Egipto hasta el Río²,de mar a mar y de monte a monte.13 Y la tierra será desolada a causa de sus habitantes^a,por el fruto de sus obras^b.

14 Pastorea a tu pueblo^a con tu cayado^b,el rebaño de tu heredad¹,que mora solo en el bosque,en medio de un campo fértil².Que se apacienten en Basán y Galaad^ccomo en los días de antaño^d.15 Como en los días de tu salida de la tierra de Egipto,te¹ mostraré milagros^a.16 Verán las naciones y se avergonzarán^ade todo su poderío;se pondrán la mano sobre la boca^b,sus oídos se ensordecerán.17 Lamerán el polvo^a como la serpiente,como los reptiles de la tierra^b.Saldrán temblando de sus fortalezas¹^c,al SEÑOR nuestro Dios vendrán amedrentados,y temerán delante de ti^d.18 ¿Qué Dios hay como tú, que perdona la iniquidad^ay pasa por alto la rebeldía del remanente de su heredad¹^b?No persistirá en² su ira para siempre^c,porque se complace en la misericordia^d.19 Volverá a compadecerse de nosotros,hollará nuestras iniquidades^a.Sí, arrojarás a las profundidades del martodos nuestros¹ pecados^b.20 Otorgarás a Jacob la verdad¹y a Abraham^a la misericordia,las cuales juraste a nuestros padres^bdesde los días de antaño.

The Prophet Acknowledges

Woe is me! For I amLike the fruit pickers, like the ^agrape gatherers.There is not a cluster of grapes to eat,Or a ^bfirst-ripe fig which ¹I crave.2 The ¹godly person has ^aperished from the land,And there is no upright person among men.All of them lie in wait for ^bbloodshed;Each of them hunts the other with a ^cnet.3 Concerning evil, both hands do it ^awell.The prince asks, also the judge, for a ^bbribe,And a great man speaks the desire of his soul;So they weave it together.4 The best of them is like a ^abriar,The most upright like a ^bthorn hedge.The day when you post your watchmen,Your ^cpunishment will come.Then their ^dconfusion will occur.5 Do not ^atrust in a neighbor;Do not have confidence in a friend.From her who lies in your bosomGuard ¹your lips.6 For ^ason treats father contemptuously,Daughter rises up against her mother,Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;^bA man’s enemies are the men of his own household.

God Is the Source of Salvation and Light

7 But as for me, I will ^awatch expectantly for the LORD;I will ^bwait for the God of my salvation.My ^cGod will hear me.8 ^aDo not rejoice over me, O ^bmy enemy.Though I fall I will ^crise;Though I dwell in darkness, the LORD is a ^dlight for me.

9 I will bear the indignation of the LORDBecause I have sinned against Him,Until He ^apleads my case and executes justice for me.He will bring me out to the ^blight,And I will see His ¹^crighteousness.10 Then my enemy will see,And shame will cover her who ^asaid to me,“Where is the LORD your God?”My eyes will look on her;¹At that time she will ²be ^btrampled downLike mire of the streets.11 It will be a day for ^abuilding your walls.On that day will your boundary be extended.12 It will be a day when ¹they will ^acome to youFrom Assyria and the cities of Egypt,From Egypt even to the ²Euphrates,Even from sea to sea and mountain to mountain.13 And the earth will become ^adesolate because of her inhabitants,On account of the ^bfruit of their deeds.

14 ^aShepherd Your people with Your ^bscepter,The flock of Your ¹possessionWhich dwells by itself in the woodland,In the midst of ²a fruitful field.Let them feed in ^cBashan and Gilead^dAs in the days of old.15 “As in the days when you came out from the land of Egypt,I will show ¹^ayou miracles.”16 Nations ^awill see and be ashamedOf all their might.They will ^bput their hand on their mouth,Their ears will be deaf.17 They will ^alick the dust like a serpent,Like ^breptiles of the earth.They will come ^ctrembling out of their ¹fortresses;To the LORD our God they will come in ^ddreadAnd they will be afraid before You.18 Who is a God like You, who ^apardons iniquityAnd passes over the rebellious act of the ^bremnant of His ¹possession?He does not ^cretain His anger forever,Because He ^ddelights in ²unchanging love.19 He will again have compassion on us;^aHe will tread our iniquities under foot.Yes, You will ^bcast all ¹their sinsInto the depths of the sea.20 You will give ¹^atruth to JacobAnd ²unchanging love to Abraham,Which You ^bswore to our forefathersFrom the days of old.

Woe is me (judgment is coming) ! For I amLike one who gathers the summer ^afruits, like one who gleans the vintage grapes.There is not a cluster of grapes to eat,No ^bfirst-ripe fig which my appetite craves.2 The godly person who is faithful and loyal to God has ^aperished from the earth,And there is no upright person one with good character and moral integrity among men.They all lie in wait to shed ^bblood;Each hunts the other with a ^cnet.3 Concerning evil, both of their hands pursue it and do it ^adiligently and thoroughly;The prince asks, also the judge, for a ^bbribe,And a great man speaks the evil desire of his soul.So they twist the course of justice between them.4 The best of them is injurious like a ^abriar;The most upright is prickly like a ^bthorn hedge.The day of your watchmen that is, the time predicted by the prophetsAnd your ^cpunishment comes;Now shall be their ^dconfusion.5 ^aDo not trust in a neighbor because of the moral corruption in the land;Do not have confidence in a friend.Guard the doors of your mouthFrom her who lies in your bosom. 9 I will bear the indignation and wrath of the LORDBecause I have sinned against Him,Until He ^apleads my case and executes judgment for me.He will bring me out to the ^blight,And I will behold His amazing ^crighteousness and His remarkable deliverance. Rom 10:1-4; 11:23-2710 Then my enemy all the pagan nations shall see it,And shame for despising the LORD will cover her who ^asaid to me,“Where is the LORD your God?”My eyes will look on her with satisfaction at her judgment;Now she (unbelievers) will be ^btrampled downLike mud of the streets.11 It shall be a day for ^abuilding your walls,On that day the boundary of Israel shall be greatly extended. Is 33:17; Amos 9:1112 It shall be a day when ¹the Gentiles will ^acome to youFrom Assyria and from the cities of Egypt,And from Egypt even to the river Euphrates,From sea to sea and from mountain to mountain.13 Yet the earth beyond the land of Israel shall become ^adesolate because of those who dwell in it,Because of the ^bfruit of their deeds.

14 ^aShepherd and rule Your people with Your ^bscepter of blessing,The flock of Your inheritance and Your possessionWhich dwells alone separate and secure from attack in the forest,In the midst of a garden land.Let them feed in ^cBashan and Gilead^dAs in the days of old the days of Moses and Elijah.15 “As in the days when you came out from the land of Egypt,I shall show ^ayou marvelous and miraculous things.”16 The pagan nations ^ashall see God’s omnipotence in delivering Israel and be ashamedOf all their might which cannot be compared to His.They shall ^bput their hand on their mouth in silent astonishment;Their ears shall be deaf.17 They shall ^alick the dust like a serpent;Like ^bcrawling things of the earthThey shall come ^ctrembling out of their fortresses and hiding places.They shall turn and come with ^dfear and dread to the LORD our GodAnd they shall be afraid and stand in awe before You O LORD. Jer 33:918 Who is a God like You, who ^aforgives wickednessAnd passes over the rebellious acts of the ^bremnant of His possession?He does not ^cretain His anger forever,Because He constantly ^ddelights in mercy and lovingkindness.19 He shall again have compassion on us;^aHe will subdue and tread underfoot our wickedness destroying sin’s power.Yes, You will ^bcast all our sinsInto the depths of the sea.
