Entonces Débora y Barac, hijo de Abinoam, cantaron en aquel díaa, diciendo:

2 ¡Por haberse puesto al frente los jefes1 en Israela,por haberse ofrecido el pueblo voluntariamenteb,bendecid al SEÑOR!3 ¡Oíd, reyes; prestad oído, príncipes!Yo al SEÑOR, yo cantaré,cantaré alabanzas al SEÑOR, Dios de Israela.4 SEÑOR, cuando saliste de Seira,cuando marchaste del campo de Edom,la tierra tembló, también cayeron gotas del cielo1,y las nubes destilaron aguab.5 Los montes se estremecieron1 ante la presencia del SEÑORa,aquel2 Sinaí, ante la presencia del SEÑOR, Dios de Israelb.
6 En los días de Samgar, hijo de Anata,en los días de Jaelb, quedaron desiertos1 los caminos,y los viajeros andaban por sendas tortuosas.7 Cesaron los campesinos, cesaron en Israel,hasta que yo, Débora, me levanté,hasta que me levanté, como madre en Israel.8 Escogieron nuevos diosesa;entonces la guerra estaba a las puertas.No se veía escudo ni lanzaentre cuarenta mil en Israel.9 Mi corazón está con1 los jefes de Israel,los voluntarios entre el pueblo.¡Bendecid al SEÑORa!10 Los que cabalgáis en asnasa blancas,los que os sentáis en ricos tapices,los que viajáis por el camino, cantad1.11 Al sonido de los que dividen las manadas entre los abrevaderosa,allí repetirán los actos de justicia del SEÑORb,los actos de justicia para con sus campesinos en Israel.Entonces el pueblo del SEÑOR descendió a las puertasc.
12 Despierta, despiertaa, Débora;despierta, despierta, entona un cántico.Levántate, Barac, y lleva a tus cautivosb, hijo de Abinoam.13 Entonces los sobrevivientes descendieron sobre los nobles;el pueblo del SEÑOR vino a mí como guerreros.14 De Efraín descendieron los radicados1 en Amaleca,en pos de ti, Benjamín, con tus pueblos;de Maquir descendieron jefes,y de Zabulón los que manejan vara de mando2.15 Los1 príncipes de Isacar estaban con Débora;como Isacar, así también Baraca;al valle se apresuraron pisándole los talones2;entre las divisiones de Rubénhabía grandes resoluciones de corazón.16 ¿Por qué te sentaste entre los redilesa,escuchando los toques de flauta para los rebaños?Entre las divisiones de Rubénhabía gran escudriñamiento de corazón.17 Galaad se quedó1 al otro lado del Jordána.¿Y por qué se quedó Dan en las naves?Aser se sentó a la orilla del mar,y se quedó2 junto a sus puertos.18 Zabulóna era pueblo que despreció su vida hasta la muerte.Y también Neftalí, en las alturas del campo.
19 Vinieron los reyes y pelearona;pelearon entonces los reyes de Canaánen Taanacb, cerca de las aguas de Meguido;no tomaron despojos de platac.20 Desde los cielos las estrellas pelearona,desde sus órbitas pelearon contra Sísara.21 El torrente Cisón los barrió,el antiguo torrente, el torrente Cisón.Marcha, alma mía con podera.22 Entonces resonaron1 los cascos de los caballospor el galopar, el galopar de sus valientes corceles2a.23 «Maldecid a Meroz», dijo el ángel del SEÑOR,«maldecid, maldecid a sus moradores;porque no vinieron en ayuda del SEÑOR,en ayuda del SEÑOR contra los guerrerosa».
24 Bendita entre las mujeres es Jael,mujer de Heber ceneo;bendita sea entre las mujeres de la tienda.25 El pidió agua, y ella le dio leche;en taza de nobles le trajo cuajada1.26 Extendió ella la mano hacia la estaca de la tienda,y su diestra hacia el martillo de trabajadores.Entonces golpeó a Sísara, desbarató su cabeza;destruyó y perforó sus sienesa.27 A1 sus pies él se encorvó, cayó, quedó tendido;a2 sus pies se encorvó y cayó;donde se encorvó, allí quedó muerto3.
28 Miraba por la ventana y se lamentabala madre de Sísara, por las celosías1:«¿Por qué se tarda en venir su carro?¿Por qué se retrasa el trotar2 de sus carros?».29 Sus sabias princesas le respondían,aun a sí misma ella repite sus palabras:30 «¿Acaso no han hallado el botína y se lo están repartiendo?¿Una doncella, dos doncellas para cada guerrero;para Sísara un botín de tela de colores,un botín de tela de colores bordada,tela de colores de doble bordadura en el cuello del victorioso1?».31 Así perezcan todos tus enemigos, oh SEÑORa;mas sean los que te aman como la salida del sol en su fuerzab.Y el país tuvo descanso por cuarenta años.

2 “aThat 1the leaders led in Israel,That bthe people volunteered,Bless the LORD!3 “Hear, O kings; give ear, O rulers!aI—to the LORD, I will sing,I will sing praise to the LORD, the God of Israel.4 “aLORD, when You went out from Seir,When You marched from the field of Edom,bThe earth quaked, the heavens also dripped,Even the clouds dripped water.5 “aThe mountains 1quaked at the presence of the LORD,bThis Sinai, at the presence of the LORD, the God of Israel.

12 “aAwake, awake, Deborah;Awake, awake, 1sing a song!Arise, Barak, and btake away your captives, O son of Abinoam.13 “Then survivors came down to the nobles;The people of the LORD came down to me as warriors.14 “From Ephraim those whose root is ain Amalek came down,Following you, Benjamin, with your peoples;From Machir commanders came down,And from Zebulun those who wield the staff of 1office.15 “And the 1princes of Issachar were with Deborah;As was Issachar, so was Barak;Into the valley they rushed aat his 2heels;Among the divisions of ReubenThere were great resolves of heart.16 “Why did you sit among athe 1sheepfolds,To hear the piping for the flocks?Among the divisions of ReubenThere were great searchings of heart.17 “aGilead 1remained across the Jordan;And why did Dan stay in ships?Asher sat at the seashore,And 2remained by its landings.18 “aZebulun was a people who despised their lives even to death,And Naphtali also, on the high places of the field.
19 “aThe kings came and fought;Then fought the kings of CanaanbAt Taanach near the waters of Megiddo;cThey took no plunder in silver.20 “aThe stars fought from heaven,From their courses they fought against Sisera.21 “The torrent of Kishon swept them away,The ancient torrent, the torrent Kishon.aO my soul, march on with strength.22 “aThen the horses’ hoofs beatFrom the dashing, the dashing of his 1valiant steeds.23 ‘Curse Meroz,’ said the angel of the LORD,‘Utterly curse its inhabitants;aBecause they did not come to the help of the LORD,To the help of the LORD against the warriors.’

28 “Out of the window she looked and lamented,The mother of Sisera through the 1lattice,‘Why does his chariot delay in coming?Why do the 2hoofbeats of his chariots tarry?’29 “Her wise princesses would answer her,Indeed she repeats her words to herself,30 ‘aAre they not finding, are they not dividing the spoil?A maiden, two maidens for every warrior;To Sisera a spoil of dyed work,A spoil of dyed work embroidered,Dyed work of double embroidery on the 1neck of the spoiler?’31 “aThus let all Your enemies perish, O LORD;bBut let those who love Him be like the rising of the sun in its might.”And the land was undisturbed for forty years.

12 “aAwake, awake, Deborah;Awake, awake, sing a song!Arise, Barak, and blead away your captives, you son of Abinoam.13 “Then down marched the survivors to the nobles;The people of the LORD marched down for Me against the mighty.14 “From Ephraim those whose root is ain Amalek came down,After you, Benjamin, with your relatives;From Machir came down commanders and rulers,And from Zebulun those who 1handle the scepter of the office of scribe.15 “And the heads of Issachar came with Deborah;As Issachar, so was Barak;Into the valley they rushed aat his heels;Among the divisions of ReubenThere were great searchings of heart.16 “Why Reuben did you linger among athe 1sheepfolds,To hear the piping for the flocks?Among the divisions of ReubenThere were great searchings of heart.17 “aGilead remained beyond the Jordan;And why did Dan live as an alien on ships?Asher sat still on the seacoast,And remained by its landings.These did not come to battle for God’s people.18 “But aZebulun was a people who risked their lives to the point of death;Naphtali also, on the heights of the field.
19 “aThe kings came and fought;Then the kings of Canaan foughtbAt Taanach by the waters of Megiddo.cSpoils of silver they did not obtain.20 “aFrom the heavens the stars fought,From their courses they fought against Sisera.21 “The torrent Kishon swept the enemy away,The ancient torrent, the torrent Kishon.aO my soul, march on with strength.22 “aThen the horses’ hoofs beat loudlyBecause of the galloping—the galloping of his valiant and powerful steeds.23 ‘Curse 1Meroz,’ said the messenger of the LORD,‘Utterly curse its inhabitants;aBecause they did not come to the help of the LORD,To the help of the LORD against the mighty.’

28 “Out of the window she looked down and lamented (cried out in a shrill voice) ,The mother of Sisera through the lattice,‘Why is his chariot delayed in coming?Why have the hoofbeats of his chariots delayed?’29 “Her wise ladies answered her,Indeed, she repeated her words to herself,30 ‘aAre they not finding and dividing the spoil?A maiden (concubine) or two for every man;A spoil of dyed garments for Sisera,A spoil of dyed garments embroidered,Two pieces of dyed garments embroidered for the neck of the plunderer?’31 “aSo let all Your enemies perish, O LORD;bBut let those who love Him be like the rising of the sun in its might.”And the land was at rest for forty years.
