3 a causa del sonido de los1 cascos de sus corceles2,del estruendo de sus carros y del estrépito de sus ruedasa.No se vuelven los padres para cuidar a sus hijos,por la debilidad de sus brazos3,4 a causa del día que vienepara destruir a todos los filisteosa,para exterminar de Tiro y de Sidónba todo aliado que quede;porque el SEÑOR destruirá a los filisteos,al remanente de la costa de Caftorc.5 Le ha sobrevenido la calviciea a Gaza,desolada ha sido Ascalónb.Remanente de su valle,¿hasta cuándo te sajarásc?6 ¡Ay, espada del SEÑOR!¿Hasta cuándo estarás inquieta1?Vuélvete a tu vainaa,reposa y cálmate.7 ¿Cómo puede1 estar quieta,cuando el SEÑOR le ha dado órdenesa?Contra Ascalón y contra la costa del mar,allí la ha asignado.

That which came as the word of the LORD to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the aPhilistines, before Pharaoh 1conquered bGaza. 2 Thus says the LORD:“Behold, waters are going to rise from athe northAnd become an overflowing torrent,And boverflow the land and all its fullness,The city and those who live in it;And the men will ccry out,And every inhabitant of the land will wail.

3 “Because of the noise of the 1agalloping hoofs of his 2stallions,The tumult of his chariots, and the rumbling of his wheels,The fathers have not turned back for their children,Because of the limpness of their hands,4 On account of the day that is comingTo adestroy all the Philistines,To cut off from bTyre and SidonEvery ally that is left;For the LORD is going to destroy the Philistines,The remnant of the coastland of cCaphtor.5 “aBaldness has come upon Gaza;bAshkelon has been ruined.O remnant of their valley,How long will you cgash yourself?6 “Ah, asword of the LORD,How long will you not be quiet?Withdraw into your sheath;Be at rest and stay still.7 “How can 1it be quiet,When the LORD has agiven it an order?Against Ashkelon and against the seacoast—There He has bassigned it.”

Amos 9:75 “aBaldness as a sign of mourning will come on Gaza;bAshkelon will be cut off and ruined.O remnant of their valley,How long will you cgash yourselves as a sign of mourning?6 “O you asword of the LORD,How long will it be before you are quiet?Put yourself into your sheath;Rest and be still.7 “How can His sword be quietWhen the LORD has agiven it an order?Against Ashkelon and against the whole Philistine seashoreThere He has bassigned it.”
