En efecto, se oye que entre vosotros hay inmoralidad, y una inmoralidad tal como no existe ni siquiera entre los gentiles, al extremo de que alguno tiene la mujer de su padre^a. 2 Y os habéis vuelto¹ arrogantes^2a en lugar de haberos entristecido^3b, para que el que de entre vosotros ha cometido esta acción fuera expulsado de en medio de vosotros^c. 3 Pues yo, por mi parte, aunque ausente en cuerpo pero presente en espíritu^a, como si estuviera presente, ya he juzgado al que cometió tal acción. 4 En el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesús^a, cuando vosotros estéis reunidos, y yo con vosotros en espíritu, con el poder¹ de nuestro Señor Jesús^b, 5 entregad a ese tal a Satanás^a para la destrucción de su carne, a fin de que su espíritu sea salvo^b en el día del Señor Jesús^1c. 6 Vuestra jactancia no es buena^a. ¿No sabéis^b que un poco de levadura fermenta toda la masa^c? 7 Limpiad la levadura vieja para que seáis masa nueva, así como lo sois, sin levadura. Porque aun Cristo, nuestra Pascua, ha sido sacrificado^a. 8 Por tanto, celebremos la fiesta no con la levadura vieja, ni con la levadura de malicia y maldad, sino con panes sin levadura^a de sinceridad y de verdad.

9 En mi carta os escribí que no anduvierais en compañía de personas inmorales^a; 10 no me refería a la gente inmoral de este mundo, o a los avaros y estafadores, o a los idólatras^a, porque entonces tendríais que salir del mundo. 11 Sino que en efecto os escribí que no anduvierais¹ en compañía de ninguno que, llamándose hermano, es una persona inmoral^a, o avaro, o idólatra^b, o difamador, o borracho, o estafador; conese, ni siquiera comáis. 12 Pues ¿por qué he de juzgar yo a los de afuera^a? ¿No juzgáis vosotros a los que están dentro de la iglesia^b? 13 Pero Dios juzga¹ a los que están fuera. It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, that someone has ^ahis father’s wife. 2 ¹You ^ahave become ²arrogant and ³have not ^bmourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be ^cremoved from your midst.

3 For I, on my part, though ^aabsent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present. 4 ^aIn the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and ¹I with you in spirit, ^bwith the power of our Lord Jesus, 5 I have decided to ^adeliver such a one to ^bSatan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in ^cthe day of the Lord ¹Jesus.

6 ^aYour boasting is not good. ^bDo you not know that ^ca little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough? 7 Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our ^aPassover also has been sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us celebrate the feast, ^anot with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

9 I wrote you in my letter ^anot to associate with immoral people; 10 I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with ^aidolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. 11 But ¹actually, I wrote to you not to associate ²with any so-called ^abrother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or ^ban idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging ^aoutsiders? ^bDo you not judge those who are within the church? 13 But those who are outside, God ¹judges. ^aREMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES.

It is actually reported everywhere that there is sexual immorality among you, a kind of immorality that is condemned even among the unbelieving Gentiles: that someone ¹has an intimate relationship with ^ahis father’s wife. Deut 22:30; 27:20 2 And you ^aare proud and arrogant! You should have ^bmourned in shame so that the man who has done this disgraceful thing would be ^cremoved from your fellowship!

3 For I, though ^aabsent from you in body but present in spirit, have already passed judgment on him who has committed this act, as if I were present. 4 ^aIn the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I am with you in spirit, ^bwith the power of our Lord Jesus, 5 you are to ^1ahand over this man to ^bSatan for the destruction of his body, so that his spirit may be saved in ^cthe day of the Lord Jesus.

6 ^aYour boasting over the supposed spirituality of your church is not good indeed, it is vulgar and inappropriate. ^1bDo you not know that just ^ca little leaven ferments the whole batch of dough, just as a little sin corrupts a person or an entire church? 7 ¹Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new batch, just as you are, still unleavened. For Christ our ^aPassover Lamb has been sacrificed. 8 Therefore, let us celebrate the feast, ^anot with old leaven, nor with leaven of vice and malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and untainted truth. 9 I wrote you in my previous letter ^anot to associate with sexually immoral people— 10 not meaning the immoral people of this world, or the greedy ones and swindlers, or ^aidolaters, for then you would have to get out of the world and human society altogether! 11 But actually, I have written to you not to associate with any so-called Christian ^abrother if he is sexually immoral or greedy, or is ^ban idolater devoted to anything that takes the place of God, or is a reviler who insults or slanders or otherwise verbally abuses others, or is a drunkard or a swindler—you must not so much as ¹eat with such a person. 2+@Thess 3:6 12 For what business is it of mine to judge ^aoutsiders (non-believers) ? ^bDo you not judge those who are within the church to protect the church as the situation requires? 13 God alone sits in judgment on those who are outside the faith. ^aREMOVE THE WICKED ONE FROM AMONG YOU expel him from your church.
