Ahora os hago saber, hermanos, el evangelio que os prediqué^1a, el cual también recibisteis, en el cual también estáis firmes^b, 2 por el cual también sois salvos, si retenéis^a la palabra¹ que os prediqué², a no ser que hayáis creído en vano^b. 3 Porque yo os entregué en primer lugar lo mismo que recibí^a: que Cristo murió por nuestros pecados^b, conforme a las Escrituras^c; 4 que fue sepultado y que resucitó al tercer día^a, conforme a las Escrituras^b; 5 que se apareció a Cefas^a y después a los doce^b; 6 luego se apareció a más de quinientos hermanos a la vez, la mayoría de los cuales viven aún, pero algunos ya duermen^a; 7 después se apareció a Jacobo^1a, luego a todos los apóstoles^b, 8 y al último de todos, como a uno nacido fuera de tiempo¹, se me apareció también a mí^a. 9 Porque yo soy el más insignificante de los apóstoles^a, que no soy digno de ser llamado apóstol, pues perseguí a la iglesia de Dios^b. 10 Pero por la gracia de Dios^a soy lo que soy, y su gracia para conmigo no resultó vana; antes bien he trabajado mucho más que todos ellos^b, aunque no yo, sino la gracia de Dios en mí^c. 11 Sin embargo, haya sido yo o ellos, así predicamos y así creísteis.

12 Ahora bien, si se predica que Cristo ha resucitado de entre los muertos, ¿cómo dicen algunos entre vosotros que no hay resurrección de muertos^a? 13 Y si no hay resurrección de muertos, entonces ni siquiera Cristo ha resucitado; 14 y si Cristo no ha resucitado, vana es entonces nuestra predicación, y vana también vuestra fe^a. 15 Aún más, somos hallados testigos falsos de Dios, porque hemos testificado contra¹ Dios que Él resucitó a Cristo^2a, a quien no resucitó, si en verdad los muertos no resucitan. 16 Pues si los muertos no resucitan, entonces ni siquiera Cristo ha resucitado; 17 y si Cristo no ha resucitado, vuestra fe es falsa¹; todavía estáis en vuestros pecados^a. 18 Entonces también los que han dormido en Cristo han perecido^a. 19 Si hemos esperado en Cristo para¹ esta vida solamente, somos, de todos los hombres, los más dignos de lástima^a.

20 Mas ahora Cristo ha resucitado de entre los muertos^a, primicias^b de los que durmieron^c. 21 Porque ya que la muerte entró por un hombre^a, también por un hombre vino la resurrección de los muertos. 22 Porque así como en Adán todos mueren, también en Cristo¹ todos serán vivificados^a. 23 Pero cada uno en su debido orden¹: Cristo, las primicias^a; luego los que son de Cristo^b en su venida^c; 24 entonces vendrá el fin, cuando Él entregue el reino^a al Dios y Padre^b, después que haya abolido¹ todo dominio y toda autoridad y poder^c. 25 Pues Cristo¹ debe reinar hasta que haya puesto a todos sus enemigos debajo de sus pies^a. 26 Y el último enemigo que será abolido¹ es la muerte^a. 27 Porque DIOS¹ HA PUESTO TODO EN SUJECIÓN BAJO SUS PIES^a. Pero cuando dice que todas las cosas le están sujetas^b, es evidente que se exceptúa a aquel que ha sometido a Él todas las cosas. 28 Y cuando todo haya sido sometido a Él^a, entonces también el Hijo mismo se sujetará a aquel que sujetó a Él todas las cosas, para que Dios sea todo en todos^b.

29 De no ser así, ¿qué harán los que se bautizan por los muertos? Si de ninguna manera los muertos resucitan, ¿por qué, entonces, se bautizan por ellos? 30 Y también, ¿por qué estamos en peligro a toda hora^a? 31 Os aseguro, hermanos, por la satisfacción¹ que siento por vosotros en Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor, que cada día estoy en peligro de muerte^2a. 32 Si por motivos humanos¹ luché contra fieras^a en Efeso^b, ¿de qué me aprovecha? Si los muertos no resucitan, COMAMOS Y BEBAMOS, QUE MAÑANA MORIREMOS^c. 33 No os dejéis engañar^a: «Las malas compañías corrompen las buenas costumbres». 34 Sed sobrios^a, como conviene¹, y dejad de pecar; porque algunos no tienen conocimiento de Dios^b. Para vergüenza vuestra lo digo^c.

35 Pero alguno dirá^a: ¿Cómo resucitan los muertos^b? ¿Y con qué clase de cuerpo vienen? 36 ¡Necio^a! Lo que tú siembras no llega a tener vida si antes no muere^b; 37 y lo que siembras, no siembras el cuerpo que nacerá¹, sino el grano desnudo, quizás de trigo o de alguna otra especie². 38 Pero Dios le da un cuerpo como Él quiso, y a cada semilla su propio cuerpo^a. 39 No toda carne es la misma carne, sino que una es la de los hombres, otra la¹ de las bestias, otra la² de las aves y otra la de los peces. 40 Hay, asimismo, cuerpos celestiales y cuerpos terrestres, pero la gloria del celestial es una, y la del terrestre es otra. 41 Hay una gloria del sol, y otra gloria de la luna, y otra gloria de las estrellas; pues una estrella es distinta de otra estrella en gloria. 42 Así es también la resurrección de los muertos. Se siembra un cuerpo corruptible^1a, se resucita un cuerpo incorruptible^2b; 43 se siembra en deshonra, se resucita en gloria^a; se siembra en debilidad, se resucita en poder; 44 se siembra un cuerpo natural^a, se resucita un cuerpo espiritual^b. Si hay un cuerpo natural, hay también un cuerpo espiritual. 45 Así también está escrito: El primer HOMBRE, Adán, FUE HECHO ALMA VIVIENTE^a. El último Adán^b, espíritu que da vida^c. 46 Sin embargo, el espiritual no es primero, sino el natural; luego el espiritual. 47 El primer hombre es de la tierra^a, terrenal^1b; el segundo hombre es del cielo. 48 Como es el terrenal, así son también los que son terrenales; y como es el celestial, así son también los que son celestiales^a. 49 Y tal como hemos traído la imagen del terrenal^a, traeremos¹ también la imagen del celestial^b.

50 Y esto digo, hermanos: que la carne y la sangre^a no pueden heredar el reino de Dios^b; ni lo que se corrompe¹ hereda lo incorruptible^2c. 51 He aquí, os digo un misterio^a: no todos dormiremos¹, pero todos seremos transformados^b 52 en un momento, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, a la trompeta final; pues la trompeta sonará^a y los muertos resucitarán^b incorruptibles, y nosotros seremos transformados^c. 53 Porque es necesario que esto corruptible se vista de incorrupción, y esto mortal se vista de inmortalidad^a. 54 Pero cuando esto corruptible se haya vestido de incorrupción, y esto mortal se haya vestido de inmortalidad, entonces se cumplirá la palabra que está escrita: DEVORADA HA SIDO LA MUERTE en victoria^a. 55 ¿DÓNDE ESTÁ, OH MUERTE, TU VICTORIA? ¿DÓNDE, OH SEPULCRO¹, TU AGUIJÓN^a? 56 El aguijón de la muerte es el pecado^a, y el poder del pecado es la ley^b; 57 pero a Dios gracias^a, que nos da la victoria por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo^b. 58 Por tanto, mis amados hermanos^a, estad firmes, constantes¹, abundando siempre en la obra del Señor^b, sabiendo que vuestro trabajo en el Señor no es en vano.

Now ^aI make known to you, brethren, the ^bgospel which I preached to you, which also you received, ^cin which also you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, ^aif you hold fast ¹the word which I preached to you, ^bunless you believed in vain.

3 For ^aI delivered to you ¹as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died ^bfor our sins ^caccording to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was ^araised on the third day ^baccording to the Scriptures, 5 and that ^aHe appeared to ^bCephas, then ^cto the twelve. 6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some ^ahave fallen asleep; 7 then He appeared to ^1aJames, then to ^ball the apostles; 8 and last of all, as ¹to one untimely born, ^aHe appeared to me also. 9 For I am ^athe least of the apostles, ¹and not fit to be called an apostle, because I ^bpersecuted the church of God. 10 But by ^athe grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I ^blabored even more than all of them, yet ^cnot I, but the grace of God with me. 11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

12 Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there ^ais no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; 14 and ^aif Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. 15 Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified ¹against God that He ^araised ²Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; ^ayou are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who ^ahave fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are ^aof all men most to be pitied.

20 But now Christ ^ahas been raised from the dead, the ^bfirst fruits of those who ^care asleep. 21 For since ^aby a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For ^aas in Adam all die, so also in ¹Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ ^athe first fruits, after that ^bthose who are Christ’s at ^cHis coming, 24 then comes the end, when He hands over ^athe kingdom to the ^bGod and Father, when He has abolished ^call rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign ^auntil He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be ^aabolished is death. 27 For ^aHE HAS PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET. But when He says, “^bAll things are put in subjection,” it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him. 28 When ^aall things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that ^bGod may be all in all.

29 Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them? 30 Why are we also ^ain danger every hour? 31 I affirm, brethren, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, ^aI die daily. 32 If ¹from human motives I ^afought with wild beasts at ^bEphesus, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, ^cLET US EAT AND DRINK, FOR TOMORROW WE DIE. 33 ^aDo not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” 34 ^aBecome sober-minded ¹as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have ^bno knowledge of God. ^cI speak this to your shame.

35 But ^asomeone will say, “How are ^bthe dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?” 36 ^aYou fool! That which you ^bsow does not come to life unless it dies; 37 and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of ¹something else. 38 But God gives it a body just as He wished, and ^ato each of the seeds a body of its own. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish. 40 There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.

42 ^aSo also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown ^1ba perishable body, it is raised ^2can imperishable body; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in ^aglory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a ^anatural body, it is raised a ^bspiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 So also it is written, “The first ^aMAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” The ^blast Adam became a ^clife-giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. 47 The first man is ^afrom the earth, ^1bearthy; the second man is from heaven. 48 As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, ^aso also are those who are heavenly. 49 Just as we have ^aborne the image of the earthy, ¹we ^bwill also bear the image of the heavenly.

50 Now I say this, brethren, that ^aflesh and blood cannot ^binherit the kingdom of God; nor does ¹the perishable inherit ^2cthe imperishable. 51 Behold, I tell you a ^amystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be ^bchanged, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for ^athe trumpet will sound, and ^bthe dead will be raised ¹imperishable, and ^cwe will be changed. 53 For this ¹perishable must put on ^2athe imperishable, and this ^bmortal must put on immortality. 54 But when this ¹perishable will have put on ²the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “^aDEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory. 55 ^aO DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?” 56 The sting of ^adeath is sin, and ^bthe power of sin is the law; 57 but ^athanks be to God, who gives us the ^bvictory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 ^aTherefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in ^bthe work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

Now brothers and sisters, ^alet me remind you once again of the ^bgood news of salvation which I preached to you, which you welcomed and accepted and ^con which you stand by faith. 2 By this faith you are saved reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose, ^aif you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, ^bunless you believed in vain just superficially and without complete commitment.

3 For ^aI passed on to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died ^bfor our sins ^caccording to that which the Scriptures foretold, Is 53:5-12 4 and that He was buried, and that He was bodily ^araised on the third day ^baccording to that which the Scriptures foretold, Ps 16:9, 10 5 and that ^aHe appeared to ^bCephas (Peter) , then ^cto the ¹Twelve. 6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brothers and sisters at one time, the majority of whom are still alive, but some ^ahave fallen asleep in death. 7 Then He was seen by ^aJames, then by ^ball the apostles, 8 and last of all, as to one ¹untimely (prematurely, traumatically) born, ^aHe appeared to me also. Acts 9:1-9 9 For I am ^athe least worthy of the apostles, and not fit to be called an apostle, because I at one time ^bfiercely oppressed and violently persecuted the church of God. 10 But by ^athe remarkable grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not without effect. In fact, I ^bworked harder than all of the apostles, though it was ^cnot I, but the grace of God His unmerited favor and blessing which was with me. 11 So whether it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed and trusted in and relied on with confidence.

12 Now if Christ is preached as raised from the dead, how is it that ¹some among you say that there ^ais no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised; 14 and ^aif Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain useless, amounting to nothing, and your faith is also vain imaginary, unfounded, devoid of value and benefit—not based on truth. 15 We are even discovered to be false witnesses misrepresenting God, because we testified concerning Him that He ^araised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised, either; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless and powerless mere delusion; ^ayou are still in your sins and under the control and penalty of sin. 18 Then those also who ^ahave fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19 If we who are abiding in Christ have hoped only in this life and this is all there is, then we are ^aof all people most miserable and to be pitied.

20 But now as things really are Christ ^ahas in fact been raised from the dead, and He became the ^bfirst fruits that is, the first to be resurrected with an incorruptible, immortal body, foreshadowing the resurrection of those who ^chave fallen asleep in death. Col 1:18 21 For since it was ^aby a man that death came into the world, it is also by a Man that the resurrection of the dead has come. 22 For ^ajust as ¹in Adam all die, so also ²in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ ^athe first fruits, then ^bthose who are Christ’s own will be resurrected with incorruptible, immortal bodies at ^cHis coming. 24 After that comes the end (completion) , when He hands over ^athe kingdom to ^bGod the Father, after He has made inoperative and abolished ^cevery ruler and every authority and power. 25 For Christ must reign as King ^auntil He has put all His enemies under His feet. Ps 110:1 26 The last enemy to be ^aabolished and put to an end is death. 27 For ^aHE (the Father) HAS PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS (Christ’s) FEET. But when He says, “^bAll things have been put in subjection under Christ,” it is clear that He (the Father) who put all things in subjection to Him (Christ) is excepted since the Father is not in subjection to His own Son. Ps 8:6 28 However, when ^aall things are subjected to Him (Christ) , then the Son Himself will also be subjected to the One (the Father) who put all things under Him, so that ^bGod may be all in all manifesting His glory without any opposition, the supreme indwelling and controlling factor of life.

29 Otherwise, what will those do who are being ¹baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people even baptized for them? 30 For that matter why are we running such risks and putting ourselves ^1ain danger nearly every hour if there is no resurrection? 31 I assure you, believers, by the pride which I have in you in your union with Christ Jesus our Lord, ^aI die daily I face death and die to self. 32 What good has it done me if, merely from a human point of view, I ^1afought with wild animals at ^bEphesus? If the dead are not raised at all, ^cLET US EAT AND DRINK enjoying ourselves now, FOR TOMORROW WE DIE. Is 22:13; 2+@Cor 1:8, 9 33 ^aDo not be deceived:¹ “Bad company corrupts good morals.” 34 ^aBe sober-minded be sensible, wake up from your spiritual stupor as you ought, and stop sinning; for some of you have ^bno knowledge of God you are disgracefully ignorant of Him, and ignore His truths. ^cI say this to your shame.

35 But ^asomeone will say, “How are ^bthe dead raised? And with what kind of body will they come?” 36 ^aYou fool! Every time you plant seed you ^bsow something that does not come to life germinating, springing up and growing unless it first dies. 37 The seed you sow is not the body (the plant) which it is going to become, but it is a bare seed, perhaps of wheat or some other grain. 38 But God gives it a body just as He planned, and ^ato each kind of seed a body of its own is given. Gen 1:11 39 All flesh is not the same. There is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish. 40 There are also heavenly bodies sun, moon and stars and earthly bodies humans, animals, and plants, but the glory and beauty of the heavenly is one kind, and the glory of the earthly is another. 41 There is a glory and beauty of the sun, another glory of the moon, and yet another distinctive glory of the stars; and one star differs from another in glory and brilliance.

42 ^aSo it is with the resurrection of the dead. The human body that is sown is ^bperishable and mortal, it is raised ^cimperishable and immortal. Dan 12:3 43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in ^aglory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in strength; 44 it is sown a ^anatural body mortal, suited to earth, it is raised a ^bspiritual body immortal, suited to heaven. As surely as there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 So it is written in Scripture, “The first ^aMAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL (an individual) ;” the ^blast Adam (Christ) became a ^clife-giving spirit restoring the dead to life. Gen 2:7 46 However, the spiritual the immortal life is not first, but the physical the mortal life; then the spiritual. 47 The first man Adam is ^afrom the earth, ^bearthy made of dust; the second Man Christ, the Lord is from heaven. Gen 2:7 48 As is the earthly man the man of dust, so are those who are of earth; and as is the heavenly Man, ^aso are those who are of heaven. 49 Just as we have ^aborne the image of the earthly the man of dust, ¹we ^bwill also bear the image of the heavenly the Man of heaven.

50 Now I say this, believers, that ^aflesh and blood cannot ^binherit nor be part of the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable (mortal) inherit ^cthe imperishable (immortal) . 51 Listen very carefully, I tell you a ^amystery a secret truth decreed by God and previously hidden, but now revealed; we will not all sleep in death, but we will all be completely ^bchanged wondrously transformed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the last trumpet call. For ^aa trumpet will sound, and ^bthe dead who believed in Christ will be raised imperishable, and ^cwe will be completely changed wondrously transformed. 53 For this perishable part of us must put on ^athe imperishable nature, and this ^bmortal part of us that is capable of dying must put on immortality which is freedom from death. 54 And when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the Scripture will be fulfilled that says, “^aDEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory (vanquished forever) . Is 25:8 55 ^aO DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?” Hos 13:14 56 The sting of ^adeath is sin, and ^bthe power of sin by which it brings death is the law; 57 but ^athanks be to God, who gives us the ^bvictory as conquerors through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 ^aTherefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in ^bthe work of the Lord always doing your best and doing more than is needed, being continually aware that your labor even to the point of exhaustion in the Lord is not futile nor wasted it is never without purpose.
