Vi cuando el Cordero^a abrió uno de los siete sellos^b, y oí a uno de los cuatro seres vivientes^c que decía, como con voz de trueno^d: Ven¹. 2 Miré, y he aquí, un caballo blanco^a; y el que estaba montado en él tenía un arco; se le dio una corona^b, y salió conquistando y para conquistar^c.

3 Cuando abrió el segundo sello, oí al segundo ser viviente^a que decía: Ven. 4 Entonces salió otro caballo, rojo^a; y al que estaba montado en él se le concedió quitar la paz de la tierra^b y que los hombres se mataran unos a otros; y se le dio una gran espada.

5 Cuando abrió el tercer sello, oí al tercer ser viviente^a que decía: Ven. Y miré, y he aquí, un caballo negro^b; y el que estaba montado en él tenía una balanza en la mano^c. 6 Y oí como una voz en medio de los cuatro seres vivientes^a que decía: Un litro¹ de trigo por un denario², y tres litros³ de cebada por un denario⁴, y no dañes el aceite y el vino^b.

7 Cuando abrió el cuarto sello, oí la voz del cuarto ser viviente^a que decía: Ven. 8 Y miré, y he aquí, un caballo amarillento^1a; y el que estaba montado en él se llamaba Muerte^b; y el Hades^2c lo seguía. Y se les dio autoridad sobre la cuarta parte de la tierra^d, para matar con espada, con hambre, con pestilencia³ y con las fieras de la tierra.

9 Cuando el Cordero abrió el quinto sello, vi debajo^a del altar^b las almas^c de los que habían sido muertos a causa de la palabra de Dios^d y del testimonio que habían mantenido^e; 10 y clamaban a gran voz, diciendo^a: ¿Hasta cuándo, oh Señor^1b santo^c y verdadero, esperarás para juzgar^d y vengar² nuestra sangre de los que moran en la tierra^e? 11 Y se les dio a cada uno una vestidura blanca^a; y se les dijo que descansaran un poco más de tiempo^b, hasta que se completara^c también el número^d de sus consiervos y de sus hermanos que habrían de ser muertos como ellos lo habían sido.

12 Vi cuando el Cordero abrió el sexto sello, y hubo un gran terremoto^a, y el sol se puso negro^b como cilicio^c hecho de cerda, y toda la luna se volvió como sangre, 13 y las estrellas del cielo cayeron a la tierra^a, como la higuera^b deja caer sus higos verdes al ser sacudida por un fuerte viento. 14 Y el cielo desapareció¹ como un pergamino² que se enrolla^a, y todo monte e isla fueron removidos de su lugar^b. 15 Y los reyes de la tierra^a, y los grandes, los comandantes¹, los ricos, los poderosos, y todo siervo y todo libre, se escondieron en las cuevas y entre las peñas de los montes; 16 y decían* a los montes y a las peñas^a: Caed sobre nosotros y escondednos de la presencia¹ del que está sentado en el trono^b y de la ira del Cordero^c, 17 porque ha llegado el gran día de la ira de ellos^a, ¿y quién podrá¹ sostenerse^2b?

Then I saw when the ^aLamb broke one of the ^bseven seals, and I heard one of the ^cfour living creatures saying as with a ^dvoice of thunder, “Come¹.” 2 I looked, and behold, a ^awhite horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and ^ba crown was given to him, and he went out ^cconquering and to conquer.

3 When He broke the second seal, I heard the ^asecond living creature saying, “Come¹.” 4 And another, ^aa red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to ^btake peace from the earth, and that men would slay one another; and a great sword was given to him.

5 When He broke the third seal, I heard the ^athird living creature saying, “Come¹.” I looked, and behold, a ^bblack horse; and he who sat on it had a ^cpair of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard something like a voice in the center of the ^afour living creatures saying, “A ¹quart of wheat for a ²denarius, and three ³quarts of barley for a ⁴denarius; and ^bdo not damage the oil and the wine.”

7 When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the ^afourth living creature saying, “Come¹.” 8 I looked, and behold, an ^1aashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name ^bDeath; and ^cHades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, ^dto kill with sword and with famine and with ²pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.

9 When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw ^aunderneath the ^baltar the ^csouls of those who had been slain ^dbecause of the word of God, and because of the ^etestimony which they had maintained; 10 and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “^aHow long, O ^1bLord, ^choly and true, ²will You refrain from ^djudging and avenging our blood on ^ethose who dwell on the earth?” 11 And ^athere was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should ^brest for a little while longer, ^cuntil the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, would be ^dcompleted also.

12 I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great ^aearthquake; and the ^bsun became black as ^csackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; 13 and ^athe stars of the sky fell to the earth, ^bas a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. 14 ^aThe sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and ^bevery mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 Then ^athe kings of the earth and the great men and the ¹commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; 16 and they *^asaid to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the ¹presence of Him ^bwho sits on the throne, and from the ^cwrath of the Lamb; 17 for ^athe great day of their wrath has come, and ^bwho is able to stand?”

Then I saw as the ^aLamb (Christ) broke one of the ^bseven ¹seals of the scroll initiating the judgments, and I heard one of the ^cfour living creatures call out as with a ^dvoice of thunder, “²Come.” 2 I looked, and behold, a ^1awhite horse of victory whose rider carried a ²bow; and ^ba crown of victory was given to him, and he rode forth ^cconquering and to conquer. Ps 45:4, 5; Zech 1:8; 6:1-8

3 When He (the Lamb) broke the second seal, I heard the ^asecond living creature call out, “Come.” 4 And another, ^aa ¹fiery red horse of bloodshed, came out; and its rider was empowered to ^btake peace from the earth, so that men would slaughter one another; and a great sword of war and violent death was given to him. 5 When He (the Lamb) broke open the third seal, I heard the ^athird living creature call out, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a ^bblack horse of famine; and the rider had in his hand a ^cpair of scales (a balance) . Zech 6:1-8 6 And I heard something like a voice in the midst of the ^afour living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius (a day’s wages) , and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and ^bdo not ¹damage the oil and the wine.” 2+@Kin 6:25

7 When He (the Lamb) broke open the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the ^afourth living creature call out, “Come.” 8 So I looked, and behold, an ^aashen (pale greenish gray) horse like a corpse, representing death and pestilence; and its rider’s name was ^bDeath; and ^cHades (the realm of the dead) was following with him. They were given authority and power over a fourth part of the earth, ^dto kill with the sword and with famine and with ¹plague (pestilence, disease) and by the wild beasts of the earth. Ezek 14:21; Hos 13:14

9 When He (the Lamb) broke open the fifth seal, I saw ^aunderneath the ^baltar the ^csouls of those who had been slaughtered ^dbecause of the word of God, and because of the ^etestimony which they had maintained out of loyalty to Christ. 10 They cried in a loud voice, saying, “O ^aLord, ^bholy and true, ^chow long now before You will ^dsit in judgment and avenge our blood on ^ethose unregenerate ones who dwell on the earth?” Gen 4:10; Ps 79:10; 94:3; Zech 1:12 11 Then they were each ^agiven a white robe; and they were told to ^brest and wait quietly for a little while longer, ^cuntil the number of their fellow servants and their brothers and sisters who were to be killed even as they had been, would be ^dcompleted.

12 I looked when He (the Lamb) broke open the sixth seal, and there was a great ^aearthquake; and the ^bsun became black as ^1csackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; Joel 2:10, 31 13 and ^athe stars of the sky fell to the earth, ^blike a fig tree shedding its late summer figs when shaken by a strong wind. Is 34:4 14 ^aThe sky was split separated from the land and rolled up like a scroll, and ^bevery mountain and island were dislodged and moved out of their places. 15 Then ^athe kings of the earth and the great men and the ¹military commanders and the wealthy and the strong and everyone, whether slave or free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; 16 and they ^acalled to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him ^bwho sits on the throne, and from the righteous ^cwrath and indignation of the Lamb; Is 2:19-21; Hos 10:8 17 for ^athe great day of their wrath and vengeance and retribution has come, and ^bwho is able to face God and stand before the wrath of the Lamb?” Joel 2:11; Mal 3:2; Jude 14; Rev 19:11-16
