^aPasado el día de reposo, al amanecer del primer día de la semana, María Magdalena y la otra María^b vinieron a ver el sepulcro. 2 Y he aquí, se produjo un gran terremoto, porque un ángel del Señor^a descendiendo del cielo, y acercándose, removió la piedra^b y se sentó sobre ella. 3 Su aspecto era como un relámpago, y su vestidura blanca como la nieve^a; 4 y de miedo a él los guardias temblaron y se quedaron como muertos. 5 Y hablando¹ el ángel, dijo a las mujeres: Vosotras, no temáis^a; porque yo sé que buscáis a Jesús, el que fue crucificado². 6 No está aquí, porque ha resucitado, tal como dijo^a. Venid, ved el lugar donde yacía. 7 E id pronto, y decid a sus discípulos que Él ha resucitado de entre los muertos; y he aquí, Él va delante de vosotros a Galilea^a; allí le veréis. He aquí, os lo he dicho. 8 Y ellas, alejándose a toda prisa del sepulcro con temor y gran gozo, corrieron a dar las noticias a sus discípulos. 9 Y he aquí que Jesús les salió al encuentro, diciendo: ¡Salve! Y ellas, acercándose, abrazaron sus pies y le adoraron. 10 Entonces Jesús les dijo*: No temáis^1a. Id, avisad a mis hermanos^b que vayan a Galilea, y allí me verán^c.

11 Y mientras ellas iban, he aquí, algunos de la guardia^a fueron a la ciudad e informaron a los principales sacerdotes de todo lo que había sucedido. 12 Y después de reunirse con los ancianos y deliberar¹ con ellos, dieron una gran cantidad de dinero a los soldados, 13 diciendo: Decid esto: «Sus discípulos vinieron de noche y robaron el cuerpo¹ mientras nosotros dormíamos». 14 Y si esto llega a oídos del gobernador^a, nosotros lo convenceremos y os evitaremos dificultades¹. 15 Ellos tomaron el dinero e hicieron como se les había instruido. Y este dicho se divulgó extensamente entre los judíos^a hasta hoy^b.

16 Pero los once discípulos se fueron a Galilea^a, al monte que¹ Jesús les había señalado. 17 Cuando le vieron, le adoraron; mas algunos dudaron^a. 18 Y acercándose Jesús, les habló, diciendo: Toda autoridad me ha sido dada en el cielo y en la tierra^a. 19 Id, pues, y haced discípulos^a de¹ todas las naciones^b, bautizándolos^c en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, 20 enseñándoles a guardar todo lo que os he mandado; y he aquí, yo estoy con vosotros^a todos los días, hasta el fin¹ del mundo^2b.

^aNow after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, ^bMary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave. 2 And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for ^aan angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away ^bthe stone and sat upon it. 3 And ^ahis appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men. 5 The angel said to the women, “^1aDo not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. 6 He is not here, for He has risen, ^ajust as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. 7 Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you ^ainto Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you.”

8 And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples. 9 And behold, Jesus met them ¹and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. 10 Then Jesus *said to them, “^1aDo not be afraid; go and take word to ^bMy brethren to leave ^cfor Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

11 Now while they were on their way, some of ^athe guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all that had happened. 12 And when they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, 13 and said, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we were asleep.’ 14 And if this should come to ^athe governor’s ears, we will win him over and ¹keep you out of trouble.” 15 And they took the money and did as they had been instructed; and this story was widely ^aspread among the Jews, and is ^bto this day.

16 But the eleven disciples proceeded ^ato Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but ^asome were doubtful. 18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “^aAll authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 ^1aGo therefore and ^bmake disciples of ^call the nations, ^dbaptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, ^aI am with you ¹always, even to ^bthe end of the age.”

Come! See the place where He was lying. 7 Then go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you ^ainto Galilee as He promised. There you will see Him; behold, I have told you.”

8 So the women left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy, and ran to tell the good news to the disciples. 9 And as they went, suddenly, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” And they went to Him and took hold of His feet in homage and worshiped Him as the Messiah. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “^aDo not be afraid; go and tell ^bMy brothers to leave ^cfor Galilee, and there they will see Me just as I promised.”

11 While they were on their way, some of ^athe Roman guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. 12 And when the chief priests had gathered with the elders and had consulted together to develop a plan of deception, they gave a sufficient sum of money as a bribe to the soldiers, 13 and said, “You say this, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him while we were sleeping.’ 14 And if ^athe governor (Pilate) hears about it, we will calm him down and keep you out of trouble.” 15 So they took the money they were paid for lying and did as they were instructed; and this fabricated story was widely ^aspread among the Jews, and is ^bto the present day.

16 Now the eleven disciples went ^ato Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. 17 And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but ^asome doubted that it was really He. 18 Jesus came up and said to them, “^aAll authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 ^aGo therefore and ^bmake disciples of ^call the nations help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words, ^dbaptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, ^aI am with you always remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion, even to ^bthe end of the age.”
