Ante esto también tiembla mi corazón,y salta de su lugar.2 Escuchad atentamente el estruendo de su voz,y el rugido que sale de su boca^a.3 Bajo todos los cielos lo suelta,y su relámpago¹ hasta los confines de la tierra^a.4 Tras él, ruge una voz;truena Él con su majestuosa voz,y no retiene los relámpagos¹ mientras se oye su voz.5 Maravillosamente truena Dios con su voz,haciendo grandes cosas que no comprendemos^a.6 Porque a la nieve^a dice: «Cae sobre la tierra»,y al aguacero y a la lluvia¹^b: «Sed fuertes».7 Él sella la mano de todo hombre^a,para que todos conozcan su obra^b.8 La fiera entra en su guarida,y permanece en su madriguera¹^a.9 Del sur¹^a viene el torbellino,y del norte² el frío.10 Del soplo de Dios se forma el hielo^a,y se congela la extensión de las aguas.11 También Él carga de humedad la densa nube^a,y esparce la nube^b con su relámpago¹^c;12 aquella gira y da vueltas por su sabia dirección,para hacer todo lo que Él le¹ ordena^asobre la faz de toda la tierra²^b.13 Ya sea por corrección¹^a, o por el mundo suyo^b,o por misericordia^c, Él hace que suceda².

14 Escucha esto, Job,detente y considera las maravillas de Dios.15 ¿Sabes tú cómo Dios las establece,y hace resplandecer el relámpago¹ de su nube?16 ¿Sabes tú la posición de las densas nubes,maravillas^a del perfecto en conocimiento^b,17 tú, cuyos vestidos están calientescuando la tierra está en calma a causa del viento del sur?18 ¿Puedes con Él extender el firmamento^a,fuerte como espejo de metal fundido?19 Enséñanos qué le hemos de decir a Dios;no podemos ordenar nuestro argumento^a a causa de las tinieblas.20 ¿Habrá que contarle que yo quiero hablar?¿O debe un hombre decir que quiere ser tragado¹?

21 Ahora los hombres no ven la luz que brilla en el firmamento;pero pasa el viento y lo despeja.22 Del norte viene dorado esplendor:majestad impresionante alrededor de Dios.23 Es el Todopoderoso¹; no le podemos alcanzar^a;Él es grande en poder^b,y no pervertirá^c el juicio ni la abundante justicia^d.24 Por eso le temen los hombres^a;Él no estima a ninguno que se cree sabio de corazón^b.

Elihu Says God Is Back of the Storm

“At this also my heart trembles,And leaps from its place.2 “Listen closely to the ^athunder of His voice,And the rumbling that goes out from His mouth.3 “Under the whole heaven He lets it loose,And His ¹lightning to the ^aends of the earth.4 “After it, a voice roars;He thunders with His majestic voice,And He does not restrain ¹the lightnings when His voice is heard.5 “God ^athunders with His voice wondrously,Doing ^bgreat things which we cannot comprehend.6 “For to ^athe snow He says, ‘Fall on the earth,’And to the ¹^bdownpour and the rain, ‘Be strong.’7 “He ^aseals the hand of every man,That ^ball men may know His work.8 “Then the beast goes into its ^alairAnd remains in its ¹den.9 “Out of the ¹^asouth comes the storm,And out of the ²north the cold.10 “From the breath of God ^aice is made,And the expanse of the waters is frozen.11 “Also with moisture He ^aloads the thick cloud;He ^bdisperses ^cthe cloud of His ¹lightning.12 “It changes direction, turning around by His guidance,That ¹it may do whatever He ^acommands ²itOn the ^bface of the inhabited earth.13 “Whether for ¹^acorrection, or for ^bHis world,Or for ^clovingkindness, He causes it to ²happen.

14 “Listen to this, O Job,Stand and consider the wonders of God.15 “Do you know how God establishes them,And makes the ¹lightning of His cloud to shine?16 “Do you know about the layers of the thick clouds,The ^awonders of one ^bperfect in knowledge,17 You whose garments are hot,When the land is still because of the south wind?18 “Can you, with Him, ^aspread out the skies,Strong as a molten mirror?19 “Teach us what we shall say to Him;We ^acannot arrange our case because of darkness.20 “Shall it be told Him that I would speak?¹Or should a man say that he would be swallowed up?

21 “Now ¹men do not see the light which is bright in the skies;But the wind has passed and cleared them.22 “Out of the north comes golden splendor;Around God is awesome majesty.23 “The Almighty—^awe cannot find Him;He is ^bexalted in powerAnd ^cHe will not do violence ^dto justice and abundant righteousness.24 “Therefore men ^afear Him;He does not ^bregard any who are wise of heart.”

Elihu Says God has Authority over the Storm

“Indeed, at His thundering my heart tremblesAnd leaps out of its place.2 “Listen carefully to the ^athunder of His voice,And the rumbling that goes out of His mouth!3 “He lets it loose under the whole heaven,And His lightning to the ^aends of the earth.4 “After it, His voice roars;He thunders with the voice of His majesty,And He does not restrain His lightning against His adversaries when His voice is heard.5 “God ^athunders marvelously with His voice;He does ^bgreat things which we cannot comprehend.6 “For He says to ^athe snow, ‘Fall on the earth’;And He speaks to the showers and to the ^bdownpour of His mighty rains, ‘Be strong.’7 “God ^aseals (brings to a standstill, stops) by severe weather the hand of every man,That ^ball men whom He has made may know His work that is, His sovereign power and their subjection to it.8 “Then the beast goes into its lairAnd remains in its ^ahiding place.9 “Out of its ^achamber comes the storm,And cold from the north wind.10 “^aIce is made by the breath of God,And the expanse of the waters is frozen. 14 “Listen to this, Job;Stand still and consider the wonders of God.15 “Do you know how God establishes and commands them,And makes the lightning of His storm cloud shine?16 “Do you know about the layers of thick clouds and how they are balanced and poised in the heavens,The ^awonderful works of Him who is ^bperfect in knowledge,17 You whose garments are hot,When He quiets the earth in sultry summer with the oppressive south wind?18 “Can you, with Him, ^aspread out the sky,Strong as a molten mirror?19 “Tell us Job what words of man shall we say to such a Being;We ^acannot state our case because of darkness that is, our ignorance in the presence of the unsearchable God.20 “So shall it be told Him that I wish to speak?Or should a man say that he would be swallowed up and destroyed by God?

21 “Now people cannot look at the light when it is bright in the skies without being blinded,When the wind has passed and cleared them.22 “Out of the north comes golden splendor and people can hardly look on it;Around God is awesome splendor and majesty far too glorious for man’s eyes.23 “The Almighty—^awe cannot find Him;He is ^bexalted in powerAnd He ^cwill not do violence to nor disregard ^djustice and abundant righteousness. 1+@Tim 6:1624 “Men therefore ^afear Him;He ^bdoes not regard nor respect any who are wise in heart in their own understanding and conceit.” Matt 10:28
