Futuro glorioso de Sión

Así dice el SEÑOR:El cielo es mi trono y la tierra el estrado de mis pies^a.¿Dónde, pues, está la casa que podríais edificarme?¿Dónde está el lugar de mi reposo^b?2 Todo esto lo hizo mi mano^a,y así todas estas cosas llegaron a ser—declara el SEÑOR.Pero aeste miraré:al que es humilde y contrito de espíritu^b, y que tiembla ante mi palabra^c.

3 El que mata un buey es como el que mata a un hombre,el que sacrifica un cordero como el que desnuca un perro,el que presenta ofrenda de cereal como el que ofrece sangre de cerdo^a,el que quema¹ incienso como el que bendice a un ídolo^b.Como ellos han escogido sus propios caminos^c,y su alma se deleita en sus abominaciones^d,4 también yo escogeré sus castigos¹^a,y traeré sobre ellos lo que temen^b.Porque llamé, mas nadie respondió,hablé, mas no escucharon^c;sino que hicieron lo malo ante mis ojos,y escogieron aquello que no me complacía^d.5 Oíd la palabra del SEÑOR, vosotros que tembláis ante su palabra^a:Vuestros hermanos que os aborrecen, que os excluyen por causa de mi nombre^b,han dicho: «Sea el SEÑOR glorificado, para que veamos vuestra alegría^c».Pero ellos serán avergonzados^d.6 Voz de estruendo viene de la ciudad, una voz sale del templo:la voz del SEÑOR que da el pago¹ a sus enemigos^a.

7 Antes que estuviera de parto, ella dio a luz^a;antes que le vinieran los dolores, dio a luz un niño^b.8 ¿Quién ha oído cosa semejante? ¿Quién ha visto tales cosas^a?¿Es dado a luz un país en un solo día?¿Nace una nación toda de una vez?Pues Sión apenas estuvo de parto, dio a luz a sus hijos.9 Yo que hago que se abra la matriz, ¿no haré nacer^a?—dice el SEÑOR.Yo que hago nacer, ¿cerraré la matriz?—dice tu Dios.10 Alegraos con Jerusalén y regocijaos^a por ella, todos los que la amáis^b;rebosad de júbilo con ella^c, todos los que por ella hacéis duelo,11 para que maméis y os saciéis del pecho de sus consolaciones,para que chupéis y os deleitéis de su seno abundante¹^a.12 Porque así dice el SEÑOR: He aquí, yo extiendo hacia ella paz como un río^a,y la gloria de las naciones como torrente desbordado^b;y mamaréis, seréis llevados sobre la cadera¹ y acariciados sobre las rodillas^c.13 Como uno a quien consuela su madre, así os consolaré yo;en Jerusalén seréis consolados^a.14 Cuando lo veáis^a, se llenará de gozo vuestro corazón^b,y vuestros huesos florecerán como hierba tierna^c;la mano del SEÑOR se dará a conocer a sus siervos,y su indignación a sus enemigos^d.15 Porque he aquí, el SEÑOR vendrá en fuegoy sus carros como torbellino^a,para descargar con furor su iray su reprensión con llamas de fuego^b.16 Porque el SEÑOR juzgará con fuego^ay con su espada a toda carne^b,y serán muchos los muertos del SEÑOR.17 Los que se santifican y se purifican para ir a los huertos^a,tras uno que está en el centro,que comen carne de cerdo, cosas detestables y ratones^b,a una perecerán^c—declara el SEÑOR.

18 Mas yo conozco¹ sus obras y sus pensamientos^a. Llegará el tiempo de juntar a todas las naciones y lenguas, y vendrán y verán mi gloria^b. 19 Y pondré señal entre ellos y enviaré a sus sobrevivientes a las naciones^a: a Tarsis^b, a Fut¹, a Lud^c, a Mesec, a Ros², a Tubal y a Javán³^d, a las costas remotas^e que no han oído de mi fama ni han visto mi gloria. Y ellos anunciarán mi gloria entre las naciones^f. 20 Entonces traerán a todos vuestros hermanos de todas las naciones como ofrenda al SEÑOR, en caballos, en carros, en literas^a, en mulos y en camellos, a mi santo monte, Jerusalén^b—dice el SEÑOR—tal como los hijos de Israel traen su ofrenda de grano en vasijas limpias a la casa del SEÑOR^c. 21 Y también tomaré algunos de ellos para sacerdotes^a y para levitas—dice el SEÑOR.

22 Porque como los cielos nuevos y la tierra nueva^aque yo hago permanecerán delante de mí—declara el SEÑOR—,así permanecerá vuestra descendencia¹^b y vuestro nombre^c.23 Y sucederá que de luna nueva en luna nuevay de día de reposo en día de reposo^a,todo mortal¹ vendrá a postrarse delante de mí—dice el SEÑOR^b.24 Y cuando salgan, veránlos cadáveres de los hombres^aque se rebelaron¹ contra mí^b;porque su gusano no morirá^c,ni su fuego se apagará^d,y serán el horror² de toda la humanidad³^e.

Thus says the LORD,“^aHeaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool.Where then is a ^bhouse you could build for Me?And where is a place that ¹I may rest?

2 “For ^aMy hand made all these things,Thus all these things came into being,” declares the LORD.“But to this one I will look,To him who is humble and ^bcontrite of spirit, and who ^ctrembles at My word.

Hypocrisy Rebuked

3 “But he who kills an ox is like one who slays a man;He who sacrifices a lamb is like the one who breaks a dog’s neck;He who offers a grain offering is like one who offers ^aswine’s blood;He who ¹^bburns incense is like the one who blesses an idol.As they have chosen their ^cown ways,And their soul delights in their ^dabominations,4 So I will ^achoose their ¹punishmentsAnd will ^bbring on them what they dread.Because I called, but ^cno one answered;I spoke, but they did not listen.And they did ^devil in My sightAnd chose that in which I did not delight.”5 Hear the word of the LORD, you who ^atremble at His word:“Your brothers who ^bhate you, who ^cexclude you for My name’s sake,Have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy.’But ^dthey will be put to shame.6 “A voice of uproar from the city, a voice from the temple,The voice of the LORD who is ^arendering recompense to His enemies.

7 “Before she travailed, ^ashe brought forth;Before her pain came, ^bshe gave birth to a boy.8 “^aWho has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things?Can a land be ¹born in one day?Can a nation be brought forth all at once?As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons.9 “Shall I bring to the point of birth and ^anot give delivery?” says the LORD.“Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?” says your God.

Joy in Jerusalem’s Future

10 “Be ^ajoyful with Jerusalem and rejoice for her, all you who ^blove her;Be exceedingly ^cglad with her, all you who mourn over her,11 That you may nurse and ^abe satisfied with her comforting breasts,That you may suck and be delighted with her ^bbountiful bosom.”12 For thus says the LORD, “Behold, I extend ^apeace to her like a river,And the ^bglory of the nations like an overflowing stream;And you will ¹be nursed, you will be ^ccarried on the ²hip and fondled on the knees.13 “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will ^acomfort you;And you will be comforted in Jerusalem.”14 Then you will ^asee this, and your ^bheart will be glad,And your ^cbones will flourish like the new grass;And the ^dhand of the LORD will be made known to His servants,But He will be ^eindignant toward His enemies.15 For behold, the LORD will come in ^afireAnd His ^bchariots like the whirlwind,To render His anger with fury,And His rebuke with flames of fire.16 For the LORD will execute judgment by ^afireAnd by His ^bsword on all flesh,And those slain by the LORD will be many.17 “Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go to the ^agardens,¹Following one in the center,Who eat ^bswine’s flesh, detestable things and mice,Will ^ccome to an end altogether,” declares the LORD.

18 “For I ¹know their works and their ^athoughts; ²the time is coming to ^bgather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory. 19 I will set a ^asign among them and will send survivors from them to the nations: ^bTarshish, ¹Put, ^cLud, ²Meshech, ^dTubal and ³Javan, to the distant ^ecoastlands that have neither heard My fame nor seen My glory. And they will ^fdeclare My glory among the nations. 20 Then they shall ^abring all your brethren from all the nations as a grain offering to the LORD, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules and on camels, to My ^bholy mountain Jerusalem,” says the LORD, “just as the sons of Israel bring their grain offering in a ^cclean vessel to the house of the LORD. 21 I will also take some of them for ^apriests and for Levites,” says the LORD.

22 “For just as the ^anew heavens and the new earthWhich I make will endure before Me,” declares the LORD,“So your ^boffspring and your ^cname will endure.23 “And it shall be from ^anew moon to new moonAnd from sabbath to sabbath,All ¹mankind will come to ^bbow down before Me,” says the LORD.24 “Then they will go forth and lookOn the ^acorpses of the menWho have ¹^btransgressed against Me.For their ^cworm will not die^dAnd their fire will not be quenched;And they will be an ^eabhorrence to all ²mankind.”

This is what the LORD says,“^aHeaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool.Where, then, is a ^bhouse that you could build for Me?And where will My resting place be? Acts 17:24

2 “For all these things ^aMy hand has made,So all these things came into being by and for Me,” declares the LORD.“But to this one I will look graciously,To him who is humble and ^bcontrite in spirit, and who reverently ^ctrembles at My word and honors My commands. John 4:24

Hypocrisy Rebuked

3 “He who kills an ox for pagan sacrifice is as guilty as one who kills a man;He who sacrifices a lamb, as one who breaks a dog’s neck;He who offers a grain offering, as one who offers ^aswine’s blood;He who ^boffers incense, as one who blesses an idol.Such people have chosen their ^cown ways,And their soul delights in their ^drepulsive acts;4 So I will ^achoose their punishments,And will ^bbring the things they dread upon themBecause I called, but ^cno one answered;I spoke, but they did not listen or obey.But they did ^devil in My sightAnd chose that in which I did not delight.”5 Hear the word of the LORD, you who ^atremble with awe-filled reverence at His word:“Your brothers who ^bhate you, who ^cexclude you for My Name’s sake,Have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy.’But ^dthey will be put to shame.6 “The sound of an uproar from the city! A voice from the temple!The voice of the LORD, ^aproviding retribution to His enemies.

7 “Before she (Zion) was in labor, ^ashe gave birth;Before her labor pain came, ^bshe gave birth to a boy.8 “^aWho has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things?Can a land ¹be born in one day?Or can a nation be brought forth in a moment?As soon as Zion was in labor, she also brought forth her sons.9 “Shall I bring to the moment of birth and ^anot give delivery?” says the LORD.“Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?” says your God.

Joy in Jerusalem’s Future

10 “^aRejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who ^blove her;^cRejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her,11 That you may nurse and ^abe satisfied with her comforting breasts,That you may drink deeply and be delighted with her ^bbountiful bosom.”12 For the LORD says this, “Behold, I extend ^apeace to her (Jerusalem) like a river,And the ^bglory of the nations like an overflowing stream;And you will be nursed, you will be ^ccarried on her hip and playfully rocked on her knees.13 “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will ^acomfort you;And you will be comforted in Jerusalem.”14 When you ^asee this, your ^bheart will rejoice;Your ^cbones will flourish like new grass.And the powerful ^dhand of the LORD will be revealed to His servants,But His ^eindignation will be toward His enemies.15 For indeed, the LORD will come in ^afireAnd His ^bchariots will be like the stormy wind,To render His anger with rage,And His rebuke with flames of fire.16 For the LORD will execute judgment by ^afireAnd by His ^bsword on all mankind,And those slain by the LORD will be many.17 “Those who vainly attempt to sanctify and cleanse themselves to go to the ^agardens to sacrifice to idols,Following after ¹one in the center,Who eat ^bswine’s flesh, ²detestable things and mice,Will ^ccome to an end together,” says the LORD.

18 “For I know their works and their ^athoughts. The time is coming to ^bgather all nations and languages, and they will come and see My glory. 19 I will set up a miraculous ^asign among them, and from them I will send survivors to the nations: ^bTarshish, Pul (Put) , ^cLud, Meshech, ^dTubal and Javan, to the distant ^eislands and coastlands that have not heard of My fame nor seen My glory. And they will ^fdeclare and proclaim My glory among the nations. 20 Then they shall ^abring all your countrymen (children of Israel) from all the nations as a grain offering to the LORD—on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules and on camels—to My ^bholy mountain Jerusalem,” says the LORD, “just as the sons of Israel bring their grain offering in a ^cclean vessel to the house of the LORD. 21 I will also take some of them as ^apriests and Levites,” says the LORD.
