Palabras de Amós, que fue uno de los pastores^a de Tecoa^b, de lo que vio en visión acerca de Israel en días de Uzías, rey de Judá^c, y en días de Jeroboam, hijo de Joás, rey de Israel^d, dos años antes del terremoto^e.

2 Y dijo:El SEÑOR ruge desde Sión,y desde Jerusalén da su voz^a;los pastizales de los pastores están de duelo^b,y se seca la cumbre¹ del Carmelo^c.

3 Así dice el SEÑOR:Por tres transgresiones^a de Damasco^b, y por cuatro,no revocaré¹ su castigo,porque trillaron a Galaad con trillos de hierro.4 Por eso enviaré fuego sobre la casa de Hazael,y consumirá los palacios¹ de Ben-adad^a.5 También romperé el cerrojo^a de Damasco,extirparé al morador del valle de Avén¹y al que empuña el cetro de Bet-edén,y el pueblo de Aram será desterrado a Kir^b—dice el SEÑOR.

6 Así dice el SEÑOR:Por tres transgresiones de Gaza^a, y por cuatro,no revocaré su castigo,por haber deportado a todo un pueblopara entregarlo^b a Edom.7 Enviaré, pues, fuego sobre la muralla de Gaza,y consumirá sus palacios.8 También extirparé al morador de Asdod^a,y al que empuña el cetro de Ascalón^b;desataré mi poder¹ sobre Ecrón,y el remanente de los filisteos perecerá^c—dice el Señor DIOS².

9 Así dice el SEÑOR:por tres transgresiones de Tiro^a, y por cuatro,no revocaré su castigo,por haber entregado todo un pueblo cautivo a Edomsin acordarse del pacto de hermanos^b.10 Enviaré, pues, fuego sobre la muralla de Tiro,y consumirá sus palacios^a.

11 Así dice el SEÑOR:Por tres transgresiones de Edom^a, y por cuatro,no revocaré su castigo,porque con espada persiguió a su hermano,y suprimió¹ su compasión^b;su ira continuó despedazandoy mantuvo su furor para siempre^c.12 Enviaré, pues, fuego sobre Temán^a,y consumirá los palacios de Bosra.

13 Así dice el SEÑOR:Por tres transgresiones de los hijos de Amón^a, y por cuatro,no revocaré su castigo,porque abrieron los vientres de las mujeres encinta^b de Galaadpara ensanchar sus fronteras^c.14 Encenderé, pues, fuego en la muralla de Rabá^a,y consumirá sus palaciosen medio de gritos de guerra en el día de la batalla^b,en medio de una tempestad en el día de la tormenta^c;15 y su rey irá al destierro,él y sus príncipes con él^a—dice el SEÑOR.

Judgment on Neighbor Nations

The words of Amos, who was among the ^asheepherders from ^bTekoa, which he ¹envisioned in visions concerning Israel in the days of ^cUzziah king of Judah, and in the days of ^dJeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the ^eearthquake.

2 He said,“The ^aLORD roars from ZionAnd from Jerusalem He utters His voice;And the shepherds’ ^bpasture grounds mourn,And the ¹^csummit of Carmel dries up.”

3 Thus says the LORD,“For ^athree transgressions of ^bDamascus and for fourI will not ¹revoke its punishment,Because they threshed Gilead with implements of sharp iron.4 “So I will send fire upon the house of HazaelAnd it will consume the citadels of ^aBen-hadad.5 “I will also ^abreak the gate bar of Damascus,And cut off the inhabitant from the ¹valley of Aven,And him who holds the scepter, from Beth-eden;So the people of Aram will go exiled to ^bKir,”Says the LORD.

6 Thus says the LORD,“For three transgressions of ^aGaza and for fourI will not revoke its punishment,Because they deported an entire populationTo ^bdeliver it up to Edom.7 “So I will send fire upon the wall of GazaAnd it will consume her citadels.8 “I will also cut off the inhabitant from ^aAshdod,And him who holds the scepter, from ^bAshkelon;I will even ¹unleash My ²power upon Ekron,And the remnant of the ^cPhilistines will perish,”Says the Lord ³GOD.

9 Thus says the LORD,“For three transgressions of ^aTyre and for fourI will not revoke its punishment,Because they delivered up an entire population to EdomAnd did not remember the covenant of ¹^bbrotherhood.10 “So I will ^asend fire upon the wall of TyreAnd it will consume her citadels.”

11 Thus says the LORD,“For three transgressions of ^aEdom and for fourI will not revoke its punishment,Because he ^bpursued his brother with the sword,While he ¹stifled his compassion;His anger also ^ctore continually,And he maintained his fury forever.12 “So I will send fire upon ^aTemanAnd it will consume the citadels of Bozrah.”

13 Thus says the LORD,“For three transgressions of the sons of ^aAmmon and for fourI will not revoke its punishment,Because they ^bripped open the pregnant women of GileadIn order to ^cenlarge their borders.14 “So I will kindle a fire on the wall of ^aRabbahAnd it will consume her citadelsAmid ¹^bwar cries on the day of battle,And a ^cstorm on the day of tempest.15 “Their ^aking will go into exile,He and his princes together,” says the LORD.

6 Thus says the LORD,“For three transgressions of ^aGaza in Philistia and for four (multiplied delinquencies)I will not reverse its punishment or revoke My word concerning it,Because as slave traders they took captive the entire Jewish population of defenseless Judean border villages, of which none was sparedAnd ^bdeported them to Edom for the slave trade. Joel 3:67 “So I will send a fire of war, conquest, and destruction on the wall of GazaAnd it shall consume her citadels.8 “And I will cut off and destroy the inhabitants from ^aAshdod,And the ruler who holds the scepter, from ^bAshkelon;And I will unleash My power and turn My hand in judgment against Ekron,And the rest of the ^cPhilistines in Gath and the towns dependent on these four Philistine cities shall die,”Says the Lord GOD. 13 Thus says the LORD,“For three transgressions of the children of ¹^aAmmon and for four (multiplied delinquencies)I will not reverse its punishment or revoke My word concerning it,Because the Ammonites have ^bripped open the pregnant women of Gilead,That they might ^cenlarge their border.14 “So I will kindle a fire of war, conquest, and destruction on the wall of ^aRabbah in AmmonAnd it shall devour its strongholdsAmid ^bwar cries and shouts of alarm on the day of battle,And a ^ctempest on the day of the whirlwind when the enemy captures the city.15 “Their ^aking shall go into exile,He and his princes together,” says the LORD.
