Esta es la tercera vez que voy a vosotros^a. POR EL TESTIMONIO¹ DE DOS O TRES TESTIGOS SE JUZGARÁN² TODOS LOS ASUNTOS^3b. 2 Dije previamente, cuando estuve presente la segunda vez, y aunque ahora estoy ausente, lo digo de antemano a los que pecaron anteriormente^a y también a todos los demás, que si voy otra vez, no seré indulgente^b, 3 puesto que buscáis una prueba del Cristo que habla en mí^a, el cual no es débil para con vosotros, sino poderoso en vosotros^b. 4 Porque ciertamente Él fue crucificado^a por debilidad, pero vive por el poder de Dios^b. Así¹ también nosotros somos débiles en² Él^c, sin embargo, viviremos con Él^d por el poder de Dios para con vosotros. 5 Poneos a prueba^a para ver si estáis en la fe; examinaos a vosotros mismos^b. ¿O no os reconocéis a vosotros mismos de que Jesucristo está en vosotros, a menos de que en verdad no paséis la prueba^1c? 6 Mas espero que reconoceréis que nosotros no estamos reprobados. 7 Y rogamos a Dios que no hagáis nada malo; no para que nosotros aparezcamos aprobados, sino para que vosotros hagáis lo bueno, aunque nosotros aparezcamos¹ reprobados. 8 Porque nada podemos hacer contra la verdad, sinosolo a favor de la verdad. 9 Pues nos regocijamos cuando nosotros somos débiles^a, pero vosotros sois fuertes; también oramos por esto: que vosotros seáis hechos perfectos^1b. 10 Por esta razón os escribo estas cosas estando ausente, a fin de que cuando esté presente no tenga que usar¹ de severidad^a según la autoridad que el Señor me dio para edificación y no para destrucción^b.

11 Por lo demás, hermanos^a, regocijaos¹, sed perfectos^2b, confortaos, sed de un mismo sentir^c, vivid en paz^d; y el Dios de amor y paz será con vosotros^e. 12 Saludaos los unos a los otros con beso santo^a. 13 Todos los santos os saludan^a.

14 La gracia del Señor Jesucristo^a, el amor de Dios^b y la comunión del Espíritu Santo^c sean con todos vosotros.

^aThis is the third time I am coming to you. ^bEVERY ¹FACT ²IS TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE ³TESTIMONY OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES. 2 I have previously said when present the second time, and though now absent I say in advance to those who have ^asinned in the past and to all the rest as well, that ^bif I come again I will not ^cspare anyone, 3 since you are ^aseeking for proof of the ^bChrist who speaks in me, and who is not weak toward you, but ^cmighty in you. 4 For indeed He was ^acrucified because of weakness, yet He lives ^bbecause of the power of God. For we also are ^cweak ¹in Him, yet ^dwe will live with Him because of the power of God directed toward you.

5 ^aTest yourselves to see if you are in the faith; ^bexamine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you ^1cfail the test? 6 But I trust that you will realize that we ourselves ¹do not fail the test. 7 Now we pray to God that you do no wrong; not that we ourselves may appear approved, but that you may do what is right, even though we may ¹appear unapproved. 8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but only for the truth. 9 For we rejoice when we ourselves are ^aweak but you are strong; this we also pray for, ¹that you be ^bmade complete. 10 For this reason I am writing these things while absent, so that when present ^aI need not use ^bseverity, in accordance with the ^cauthority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.

11 ^aFinally, brethren, ¹rejoice, ^2bbe made complete, be comforted, ^cbe like-minded, ^dlive in peace; and ^ethe God of love and peace will be with you. 12 ^aGreet one another with a holy kiss. 13 ^aAll the ¹saints greet you.

14 ^aThe grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the ^blove of God, and the ^cfellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

^aThis is the third time that I am visiting you. ^bEVERY FACT SHALL BE SUSTAINED and CONFIRMED BY THE TESTIMONY OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES. Deut 19:15 2 I have already warned those who have ^asinned in the past and all the rest as well, and I warn them now even though I am absent from you as I did when I was with you the second time, that ^bif I come back I will not ^cspare anyone, 3 since you ^aseek forensic proof that ^bChrist is speaking in and through me. He is not weak or ineffective in dealing with you, but ^cpowerful within you. 4 For even though He was ^acrucified in weakness yielding Himself, yet He lives resurrected ^bby the power of God His Father. For we too are ^cweak in Him as He was humanly weak, yet we are ^dalive and well in fellowship with Him because of the power of God directed toward you.

5 ^aTest and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as committed believers. ^bExamine yourselves not me! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves by an ongoing experience that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you ^cfail the test and are rejected as counterfeit? 6 But I hope you will acknowledge that we do not fail the test nor are we to be rejected. 7 But I pray to God that you may do nothing wrong. Not so that we and our teaching may appear to be approved, but that you may continue doing what is right, even though we by comparison may seem to have failed. 8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but only for the truth and the gospel—the good news of salvation. 9 We are glad when we are ^aweak since God’s power comes freely through us, but you by comparison are strong. We also pray for this, that you be ^bmade complete fully restored, growing and maturing in godly character and spirit—pleasing your heavenly Father by the life you live. 10 For this reason I am writing these things while absent from you, so that when I come, ^aI will not need to deal ^bseverely with you, in my use of the ^cauthority which the Lord has given me to be used for building you up and not for tearing you down.

11 ^aFinally, believers, rejoice! ^bBe made complete be what you should be, be comforted, ^cbe like-minded, ^dlive in peace enjoy the spiritual well-being experienced by believers who walk closely with God; and ^ethe God of love and peace the source of lovingkindness will be with you. 12 ^aGreet one another with a ¹holy kiss. 13 ^aAll ¹God’s people greet you.

14 ^aThe grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the ^blove of God, and the ^cfellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
