Así fue terminada toda la obra que Salomón hizo para la casa del SEÑOR. Y Salomón trajo las cosas consagradas por¹ su padre David, es decir, la plata, el oro y todos los utensilios, y los puso en los tesoros de la casa de Dios^a.

2 ^aEntonces Salomón reunió en Jerusalén a los ancianos de Israel, a todos los jefes de las tribus y a los principales de las casas paternas¹ de los hijos de Israel, para subir el arca del pacto del SEÑOR de la ciudad de David^b, la cual es Sión. 3 Y se reunieron ante el rey todos los hombres de Israel en la fiesta del¹ mes séptimo^a. 4 Cuando llegaron todos los ancianos de Israel, los levitas alzaron el arca^a; 5 y llevaron¹ el arca y la tienda de reunión y todos los utensilios sagrados que estaban en la tienda; los sacerdotes levitas los llevaron². 6 Y el rey Salomón y toda la congregación de Israel, que estaba reunida con él delante del arca, sacrificaban tantas ovejas y bueyes que no se podían contar ni numerar¹. 7 Los sacerdotes trajeron el arca del pacto del SEÑOR a su lugar, al santuario interior de la casa, al lugar santísimo, bajo las alas de los querubines. 8 Porque los querubines extendían las alas sobre el lugar del arca, y los querubines cubrían el arca y sus barras por encima. 9 Pero las barras eran tan largas que los extremos de las barras del arca se podían ver delante del santuario interior, mas no se podían ver desde afuera; y allí están¹ hasta hoy^a. 10 En el arca no había más que las dos tablas que Moisés puso allí^a en Horeb, donde el SEÑOR hizo pacto con los hijos de Israel cuando salieron de Egipto.

11 Y sucedió que cuando los sacerdotes salieron del lugar santo (porque todos los sacerdotes que estaban presentes se habían santificado sin tener en cuenta las clases^a), 12 todos los levitas cantores, Asaf, Hemán, Jedutún y sus hijos y sus parientes^1a, vestidos de lino fino, con címbalos, arpas y liras, estaban de pie al oriente del altar, y con ellos ciento veinte sacerdotes que tocaban trompetas^b. 13 Cuando los trompeteros y los cantores, al unísono, se hacían oír a una voz alabando y glorificando al SEÑOR, cuando levantaban sus voces acompañados por trompetas y címbalos e instrumentos de música^a, cuando alababan al SEÑOR diciendo: Ciertamente Él es bueno porque su misericordia es para siempre^b, entonces la casa, la casa del SEÑOR, se llenó de una nube, 14 y los sacerdotes no pudieron quedarse a ministrar a causa de la nube, porque la gloria del SEÑOR llenaba la casa de Dios^a.

^aThus all the work that Solomon performed for the house of the LORD was finished. And Solomon brought in the ^1bthings that David his father had dedicated, even the silver and the gold and all the utensils, and put them in the treasuries of the house of God.

2 ^aThen Solomon assembled to Jerusalem the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers’ households of the sons of Israel, ^bto bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion. 3 ^aAll the men of Israel assembled themselves to the king at ^bthe feast, that is in the seventh month. 4 Then all the elders of Israel came, and ^athe Levites took up the ark. 5 They brought up the ark and the tent of meeting and all the holy utensils which were in the tent; the Levitical priests brought them up. 6 And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him before the ark, were sacrificing ¹so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered. 7 Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the holy of holies, under the wings of the cherubim. 8 For the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark, so that the cherubim made a covering over the ark and its ¹poles. 9 The poles were so long that ^athe ends of the poles of the ark could be seen in front of the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen outside; and ¹they are there to this day. 10 ^aThere was nothing in the ark except the two tablets which Moses put there at Horeb, where the LORD made a covenant with the sons of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

11 When the priests came forth from the holy place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without regard ^ato divisions), 12 and all the Levitical singers, ^aAsaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and kinsmen, clothed in fine linen, ^bwith cymbals, harps and lyres, standing east of the altar, and with them one hundred and twenty priests ^cblowing trumpets 13 in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice ^aaccompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised the LORD saying, “^bHe indeed is good for His lovingkindness is everlasting,” then the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for ^athe glory of the LORD filled the house of God.

They are there to this day. 10 ^aThere was nothing in the ark except ¹the two tablets of the Ten Commandments which Moses put there at Mount Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the Israelites, when they came out of Egypt. Ex 31:18

11 When the priests came out of the Holy Place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves separating themselves from everything unclean, without regard ^ato their ¹assigned divisions), 12 and all of the Levitical singers, ^aAsaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, with their sons and relatives, clothed in fine linen, with ^bcymbals, harps, and lyres were standing at the east end of the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests ^cblowing trumpets 13 in unison when the trumpeters and singers were to make themselves heard with one voice praising and thanking the LORD, and when they raised their voices accompanied by ^athe trumpets and cymbals and other instruments of music, and when they praised the LORD, saying, “For ^bHe is good, for His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever,” then the house of the LORD was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not remain standing to minister because of the cloud; for ^athe glory and brilliance of the LORD filled the house of God.
