8 Aunque Nínive era como estanque de aguas desde la antigüedad1;ahora ellos huyen.¡Deteneos! ¡Deteneos!Pero nadie se vuelvea.9 ¡Saquead la plata!¡Saquead el oroa!No hay límite a los tesoros,a las riquezas de toda clase de objetos codiciables.10 ¡Vacía está! Sí, desolada y desierta1a.Los corazones se derriten y las rodillas tiemblanb;hay también angustia en todo el cuerpo2,y los rostros de todos han palidecidoc.11 ¿Dónde está la guarida de los leonesy el lugar1 donde comen los leoncillosa,donde andaban el león, la leona y su cachorro,sin que nada los asustara?12 El león desgarraba lo suficiente para sus cachorros,mataba1 para sus leonas,llenaba de presa sus guaridasy de carne desgarrada sus cubiles.

8 Though Nineveh was like a pool of water throughout her days,Now her inhabitants are fleeing;“Stop! Stop!” a few cry,But ano one turns back.9 Plunder the silver!Plunder the agold!For there is no end to the treasure—Wealth from every precious object.10 aShe is emptied! She is desolate and waste!bHearts melting in fear and knees knocking!Anguish is in the whole body,And the cfaces of all grow pale! 13 “Behold, aI am against you Nineveh,” declares the LORD of hosts, “and I will bburn your chariots in the smoke, and the sword will devour your young lions. I will ccut off your prey from the land, and the voice of your messengers will no longer be heard.”
