Entonces respondió Bildad suhita, y dijo:

2 ¿Hasta cuándo hablarás estas cosas,y serán viento impetuoso las palabras de tu bocaa?3 ¿Acaso tuerce Dios la justiciao tuerce el Todopoderoso1 lo que es justoa?4 Si tus hijos pecaron contra Él,entonces Él los entregó al poder1 de su transgresióna.5 Si tú buscaras a Diose imploraras la misericordia del Todopoderoso1a,6 si fueras puro y recto,ciertamente Él se despertaría ahora en tu favoray restauraría tu justa condición1b.7 Aunque tu principio haya sido insignificante,con todo, tu final aumentará sobremaneraa.
8 Pregunta, te ruego, a las generaciones pasadas,y considera las cosas escudriñadas por sus padresa.9 Porque nosotros somos de ayer y nada sabemos,pues nuestros días sobre la tierra son como una sombraa.10 ¿No te instruirán ellos y te hablarán,y de sus corazones sacarán palabras?
11 ¿Puede crecer el papiro sin cenagal?¿Puede el junco crecer sin agua?12 Estando aún verde y sin cortar,con todo, se seca antes que cualquier otra planta1.13 Así son las sendas de todos los que se olvidan de Diosa,y la esperanza del impío pereceráb,14 porque es frágil su confianza,y una tela1 de arañaa su seguridad.15 Confía1 en su casa, peroesta no se sostiene;se aferra a ella, peroesta no perduraa.16 Crece con vigor1 delante del sola,y sus renuevos brotan sobre su jardínb.17 Sus raíces se entrelazan sobre un montón de rocas;vive en1 una casa de piedras.18 Si se le arranca1 de su lugar,este le negará, diciendo: «Nunca te via».19 He aquí, este es el gozoa de su camino1;y del polvo brotarán otros.20 He aquí, Dios no rechaza al íntegro1a,ni sostiene a2 los malhechoresb.21 Aún ha de llenar de risa tu boca,y tus labios de gritos de júbiloa.22 Los que te odian serán cubiertos de vergüenzaa,y la tienda de los impíos no existirá másb.

Bildad Says God Rewards the Good

Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,

2 “How long will you say these things?And will the awords of your mouth be a mighty wind?3 “Does aGod pervert justice?Or does 1the Almighty pervert righteousness?4 “aIf your children have sinned against Him,Then He has handed them over to the power of their transgression and punished them.5 “If you would diligently aseek GodAnd implore the compassion and favor of the Almighty,6 Then, if you are pure and upright,Surely now aHe will awaken for youAnd restore your righteous bplace.7 “Though your beginning was insignificant,Yet your aend will greatly increase.
8 “aInquire, please, of past generations,And consider and apply yourself to the things searched out by their fathers.9 “For we are only of yesterday and know nothing,Because aour days on earth are like a shadow just a breath or a vapor.10 “Will they (the fathers) not teach you and tell you,And utter words from their hearts the deepest part of their nature?
11 “Can the papyrus grow up without a marsh?Can the rushes or reed grass grow without water?12 “While it is still green (in flower) and not cut down,Yet it withers before any other plant when without water.13 “So are the paths of aall who forget God;And the bhope of the godless will perish,14 For his confidence is fragile and breaks,And his trust is like a aspider’s web.15 “He trusts in his ahouse, but it does not stand;He holds tightly to it, but it does not endure.16 “He athrives and prospers like a green plant before the sun,And his bbranches spread out over his garden.17 “His godless roots are wrapped around a pile of rocks,And he gazes at a house of stones.18 “If he is snatched from ahis place in the garden,Then his place will forget him, saying, ‘bI have never seen you.’19 “Behold, athis is the joy of His way;And from out of the dust others will spring up and grow to take his place.20 “Behold, aGod will not reject a man of integrity,Nor bwill He strengthen or support evildoers.21 “He will yet fill ayour mouth with laughterAnd your lips with joyful shouting if you are found blameless.22 “Those who hate you will be aclothed with shame,And the btents of the wicked will be no longer.”
