En los¹ días de Joacim subió Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y Joacim fue su siervo por tres años; después se levantó² y se rebeló contra él^a. 2 Y el SEÑOR envió contra Joacim¹ bandas de caldeos^a, bandas de arameos^b, bandas de moabitas^c y bandas de amonitas. Y las envió contra Judá para destruirla, conforme a la palabra que el SEÑOR^d había hablado por medio² de sus siervos los profetas. 3 Ciertamente por mandato¹ del SEÑOR sucedió esto contra Judá^a para quitarlos de su presencia, por los pecados de Manasés, por todo lo que había hecho^b, 4 y también por la sangre inocente que derramó, pues llenó a Jerusalén de sangre inocente^a, y el SEÑOR no quiso perdonar. 5 Los demás hechos de Joacim y todo lo que hizo ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá? 6 Y durmió Joacim con sus padres; y su hijo Joaquín reinó en su lugar^a. 7 Y el rey de Egipto no salió más de su tierra^a, porque el rey de Babilonia había tomado todo lo que pertenecía al rey de Egipto desde el torrente de Egipto hasta el río Eufrates^b.

8 ^aJoaquín tenía dieciocho años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó tres meses en Jerusalén^b. El nombre de su madre era Nehusta, hija de Elnatán, de Jerusalén. 9 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, conforme a todo lo que había hecho su padre^a.

10 En aquel tiempo los siervos de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, subieron a Jerusalén, y la ciudad fue sitiada. 11 Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, llegó a la ciudad mientras sus siervos la tenían sitiada. 12 Y Joaquín, rey de Judá, se rindió¹ al rey de Babilonia^a, él y su madre, sus capitanes, sus jefes y sus oficiales. El rey de Babilonia lo apresó en el año octavo de su reinado^b. 13 Sacó de allí todos los tesoros de la casa del SEÑOR, los tesoros de la casa del rey^a, y destrozó todos los utensilios de oro^b que Salomón, rey de Israel, había hecho en el templo del SEÑOR, tal como el SEÑOR había dicho^c. 14 Y se llevó en cautiverio a todo Jerusalén: a todos los capitanes, a todos los hombres valientes, diez mil cautivos^a, y a todos los artesanos y herreros^b. Nadie quedó, excepto la gente más pobre del país^c. 15 También se llevó a Joaquín en cautiverio a Babilonia; asimismo a la madre del rey y a las mujeres del rey, a sus oficiales y a los poderosos del país, se los llevó en cautiverio de Jerusalén a Babilonia^a. 16 Todos los hombres valientes, siete mil, y los artesanos y herreros, mil, todos fuertes y aptos para la guerra^a, también aestos el rey de Babilonia llevó en cautiverio a Babilonia. 17 ^aEntonces el rey de Babilonia puso por rey en lugar de Joaquín¹, a su tío Matanías y cambió su nombre por el de Sedequías.

18 Sedequías tenía veintiún años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Hamutal, hija de Jeremías, de Libna^a. 19 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, conforme a todo lo que había hecho Joacim^a. 20 Por causa de la ira del SEÑOR^a sucedió esto en Jerusalén y en Judea, hasta que los echó de su presencia. Y Sedequías se rebeló contra el rey de Babilonia^b.

^aIn his days, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant for three years; then he turned and rebelled against him. 2 The LORD sent marauding ^abands of Chaldeans, ^bArameans (Syrians) , ^cMoabites, and Ammonites against Jehoiakim. And He sent them against Judah to destroy it, ^din accordance with the word of the LORD which He spoke through His servants the prophets. 3 ^aSurely this came on Judah at the command of the LORD, to remove them from His sight ^bbecause of the sins of King Manasseh, in accordance with everything that he had done, 4 and ^aalso for the innocent blood that he shed, for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; and the LORD would not pardon it. 5 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and everything that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

6 So ^aJehoiakim slept with his fathers in death, and his son Jehoiachin became king in his place. 7 ^aThe king of Egypt did not come out of his land again, ^bbecause the ¹king of Babylon had taken everything that belonged to the king of Egypt, from ^cthe river of Egypt to the river Euphrates.

8 ^aJehoiachin was ^beighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned only three months in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Nehushta daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem. 9 He did evil in the sight of the LORD, ^ain accordance with everything that his father had done.

10 At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon went up to Jerusalem, and the city came under siege. 11 Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city while his servants were besieging it. 12 ^aJehoiachin king of Judah surrendered to the king of Babylon, he and his mother and his servants and his captains and his palace officials. ^bSo the king of Babylon took him prisoner in the eighth year of his own reign. 13 ^aHe carried out of there (Jerusalem) all the treasures of the house (temple) of the LORD, and the treasures of the house (palace) of the king, and ^bcut in pieces all the articles of gold in the temple of the LORD, ^cwhich Solomon king of Israel had made, just as the LORD had said. 14 He ^aled away into exile all Jerusalem and all the captains and all the brave men, ^bten thousand captives, and ^call the craftsmen and the smiths. None remained ^dexcept the poorest people of the land.

15 ^aNebuchadnezzar led Jehoiachin away into exile to Babylon; also he took the king’s mother and the king’s wives and his officials and the leading men of the land including Ezekiel as exiles from Jerusalem to Babylon. Ezek 1:1 16 And the king of Babylon brought as exiles to Babylon all the brave men, ^aseven thousand of them, and the craftsmen and the smiths, a thousand of them, all strong and fit for war.

17 ^aThen the king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s uncle, king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

18 ^aZedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned for eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was ^bHamutal daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah. 2+@Kin 23:31 19 He did evil in the sight of the LORD, ^ain accordance with everything that Jehoiakim had done. 20 ^aBecause of the anger of the LORD these things happened in Jerusalem and Judah, and it finally came to the point that He cast them from His presence. And ^bZedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
