¹Porque he aquí, viene el día, ardiente como un horno, y todos los soberbios y todos los que hacen el mal serán como paja^a; y el día que va a venir les prenderá fuego^b—dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos^c—que no les dejará ni raíz ni rama. 2 Mas para vosotros que teméis¹ mi nombre, se levantará el sol^a de justicia con la salud^b en sus alas; y saldréis y saltaréis como terneros^c del establo. 3 Y hollaréis a los impíos^a, pues ellos serán ceniza bajo las plantas de vuestros pies^b el día en que yo actúe—dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos^c.

4 Acordaos de la ley de mi siervo Moisés, de los estatutos y las ordenanzas que yo le ordené en Horeb para todo Israel^a. 5 He aquí, yo os envío al profeta Elías antes que venga el día del SEÑOR, día grande y terrible^a. 6 Él hará volver el corazón de los padres hacia los hijos^a, y el corazón de los hijos hacia los padres, no sea que venga yo y hiera la tierra con maldición^1b.

“For behold, the day is coming, ^aburning like a furnace, and all the arrogant (proud, self-righteous, haughty) , and every evildoer shall be ^bstubble; and the day that is coming shall ^cset them on fire,” says the LORD of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. And you will go forward and ^cleap joyfully like calves released from the stall. 3 You will ^atrample the wicked, for they will be ^bashes under the soles of your feet ^con the day that I do this,” says the LORD of hosts.

4 “^aRemember with thoughtful concern the Law of Moses My servant, the statutes and the ordinances which I commanded him on Mount Horeb to give to all Israel.

5 “Behold, I am going to send you ^aElijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. Matt 11:14; 17:10-13 6 He will ^aturn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers a reconciliation produced by repentance, so that I will not come and ^bstrike the land with a curse of complete destruction.” Luke 1:17
