Infidelidad e idolatría de Israel

Pon la trompeta a tu boca¹^a.Como un águila viene el enemigo contra la casa del SEÑOR^b,porque han transgredido mi pacto^c,y se han rebelado contra mi ley^d.

2 Claman a mí^a:¡Dios mío, los de Israel te conocemos^b!3 Israel rechazó el bien,el enemigo lo perseguirá.4 Ellos han puesto reyes, pero no escogidos por mí;han nombrado príncipes, pero sin saberlo yo^a.Con su plata y su oro se han hecho ídolos^b,para su propia destrucción.5 Él ha rechazado tu becerro^a, oh Samaria, diciendo:Mi ira¹ se enciende contra ellos.¿Hasta cuándo serán incapaces de lograr la purificación²^b?6 Porque de Israel eseste también;un artífice lo hizo, y él no es Dios^a;ciertamente será hecho pedazos¹ el becerro de Samaria.7 Porque siembran viento^a,y recogerán tempestades¹^b.El trigo no tiene espigas²,no da grano³^c,y si lo diera, se lo tragarían los extraños.

8 Israel ha sido devorado^a;ahora están entre las nacionescomo vasija en que nadie se deleita^b;9 porque ellos han subido a Asiria^acomo asno montés solitario^b.Efraín alquiló amantes¹^c;10 aunque alquilen aliados entre las naciones,ahora los juntaré^a,y comenzarán a debilitarse¹^ba causa de la carga del rey de príncipes^c.

11 Por cuanto Efraín ha multiplicado altares para pecar^a,en altares para pecar se le han convertido.12 Aunque le escribí diez mil preceptos de mi ley^a,son considerados como cosa extraña^b.13 En cuanto a mis ofrendas de sacrificio^a,sacrifican la carne y se la comen^b,pero el SEÑOR no se ha complacido en ellas.Ahora se acordará de su iniquidad^c,y los castigará por sus pecados^d:ellos volverán a Egipto^e.14 Pues Israel se ha olvidado de su Hacedor^a y ha edificado palacios^b,y Judá ha multiplicado ciudades fortificadas;pero yo enviaré fuego a sus ciudades que consumirá sus fortalezas^c.

Israel Reaps the Whirlwind

^aSet the trumpet to your lips announcing impending judgment!^bLike a great vulture the enemy comes ^cagainst the house of the LORD,Because they have ^dbroken My covenantAnd transgressed and rebelled against My ^elaw.2 Then ^athey will cry out to Me,“My God, ^bwe of Israel know You!”3 Israel has rejected the good;The enemy shall pursue him.4 ^aThey set up kings, but not from Me therefore without My blessing;They have appointed princes, but I did not know it.With their ^bsilver and their gold they made idols for themselves,That they might be cut off.5 He has rejected your pagan ^acalf, O Samaria, saying,“My wrath burns against them.”How long will they be incapable of ^binnocence?6 For even this loathsome calf is from Israel.A ^acraftsman made it, so it is not God;Surely the calf of Samaria will be broken to pieces and go up in flames.7 For ^athey sow the wind in evilAnd they reap the ^bwhirlwind in disaster.The standing grain has ^cno growth;It yields no grain.If it were to yield, strangers would swallow it up.

8 Israel is as if ^aswallowed up by enemies;They are now among the nationsLike a ^bvessel of cheap, coarse pottery that is useless.9 For they have gone up to ^aAssyria,^bLike a wild donkey wandering alone and taking her own way;Ephraim has ^chired lovers (pagan allies) .10 Yes, even though with presents they hire allies among the nations,Now I will ^agather them up;And in a little while they will begin ¹^bto grow weak and diminishBecause of the burden imposed by the ^cking of princes the king of Assyria.

11 For Ephraim has ^aconstructed many altars for sin;They are altars intended for sinning which multiply his guilt.12 ^aI wrote for him the ten thousand precepts of My ^blaw,But they are regarded as a strange thing which does not concern him.13 As for My ^asacrificial offerings,They ^bsacrifice the meat as a mere formality and eat it,But the LORD is not pleased with them and does not accept them.Now He will ^cremember and take into account their wickedness and guilt,And ^dpunish them for their sins.They will return in captivity to another ^eEgypt that is, Assyria. Deut 28:6814 For Israel has ^aforgotten his Maker and ^bbuilt palaces and pagan temples,And Judah has built many fortified cities;But I will send a ^cfire upon their cities so that it may consume their palaces and fortresses. 8 Israel has been ^aswallowed up;They are now among the nationsLike a ^bvessel in which no one delights.9 For they have gone up to ^aAssyria,Like ^ba wild donkey all alone;Ephraim has ^cpaid fees for ¹lovers.10 Even though they ¹pay for allies among the nations,I will ^agather them up now;And they will begin ^bto diminishBecause of the burden of the ^cking of officials.

11 Since Ephraim has ^amultiplied altars for sin,They have become altars of sinning for him.12 Though ^aI wrote for him ten thousand precepts of My ^bLaw,They are regarded as a strange thing.13 As for My ^asacrificial gifts,They ^bsacrifice the flesh and eat it,But the LORD has taken no delight in them.Now He will ^cremember their guilt,And ^dpunish them for their sins;They will return to ^eEgypt.14 For Israel has ^aforgotten his Maker and ^bbuilt palaces;And Judah has multiplied fortified cities,But I will send a ^cfire on its cities, and it will consume its palatial buildings.
