En el principio^a creó Dios^b los cielos y la tierra^c. 2 Y la tierra estaba sin orden y vacía^1a, y las tinieblas^b cubrían la superficie² del abismo, y el Espíritu de Dios^c se movía^d sobre la superficie³ de las aguas. 3 Entonces dijo Dios: Sea la luz^a. Y hubo luz. 4 Y vio Dios que la luz era buena^a; y separó Dios la luz de las tinieblas^b. 5 Y llamó Dios a la luz día, y a las tinieblas llamó noche^a. Y fue la tarde y fue la mañana^b: un día.

6 Entonces dijo Dios: Haya expansión^1a en medio de las aguas, y separe las aguas de las aguas. 7 E hizo Dios la expansión, y separó las aguas que estaban debajo de la expansión^a de las aguas que estaban sobre la expansión^b. Y fue así. 8 Y llamó Dios a la expansión cielos. Y fue la tarde y fue la mañana: el segundo día.

9 Entonces dijo Dios: Júntense en un lugar las aguas que están debajo de los cielos^a, y que aparezca lo seco^b. Y fue así. 10 Y llamó Dios a lo seco tierra, y al conjunto de las aguas llamó mares^a. Y vio Dios que era bueno. 11 Y dijo Dios: Produzca la tierra vegetación^1a: hierbas² que den semilla, y árboles frutales que den fruto sobre la tierra según su género³, con su semilla en él. Y fue así. 12 Y produjo la tierra vegetación¹: hierbas² que dan semilla según su género, y árboles que dan fruto con su semilla en él, según su género. Y vio Dios que era bueno. 13 Y fue la tarde y fue la mañana: el tercer día.

14 Entonces dijo Dios: Haya lumbreras^1a en la expansión^b de los cielos para separar el día de la noche, y sean para señales^c y para estaciones^d y para días y para años; 15 y sean por luminarias en la expansión de los cielos para alumbrar sobre la tierra. Y fue así. 16 E hizo Dios las dos grandes lumbreras¹, la lumbrera² mayor para dominio del día y la lumbrera³ menor para dominio de la noche^a; hizo también las estrellas^b. 17 Y Dios las puso en la expansión de los cielos para alumbrar sobre la tierra^a, 18 y para dominar en el día y en la noche, y para separar la luz de las tinieblas^a. Y vio Dios que era bueno. 19 Y fue la tarde y fue la mañana: el cuarto día.

20 Entonces dijo Dios: Llénense¹ las aguas de multitudes de seres vivientes, y vuelen las aves sobre la tierra en la abierta² expansión de los cielos. 21 Y creó Dios los grandes monstruos marinos y todo ser viviente que se mueve, de los cuales están llenas¹ las aguas según su género^a, y toda ave² según su género. Y vio Dios que era bueno. 22 Y Dios los bendijo, diciendo: Sed fecundos y multiplicaos, y llenad las aguas en los mares, y multiplíquense las aves en la tierra. 23 Y fue la tarde y fue la mañana: el quinto día.

24 Entonces dijo Dios: Produzca la tierra seres vivientes^a según su género: ganados, reptiles y bestias de la tierra según su género. Y fue así. 25 E hizo Dios las bestias de la tierra según su género, y el ganado según su género, y todo lo que se arrastra sobre la tierra según su género^a. Y vio Dios que era bueno.

26 Y dijo Dios: Hagamos^a al hombre a nuestra imagen, conforme a nuestra semejanza^b; y ejerza¹ dominio sobre los peces del mar, sobre las aves del cielo, sobre los ganados, sobre toda la tierra, y sobre todo reptil que se arrastra sobre la tierra^c. 27 Creó, pues, Dios al hombre a imagen suya, a imagen de Dios lo creó^a; varón y hembra los creó^b. 28 Y los bendijo Dios y les dijo¹: Sed fecundos y multiplicaos, y llenad la tierra^a y sojuzgadla; ejerced dominio sobre los peces del mar, sobre las aves del cielo y sobre todo ser viviente que se mueve² sobre la tierra. 29 Y dijo Dios: He aquí, yo os he dado toda planta que da semilla que hay en la superficie¹ de toda la tierra, y todo árbol que tiene fruto² que da semilla; esto os servirá de³ alimento^a. 30 Y a toda bestia de la tierra, a toda ave de los cielos y a todo lo que se mueve¹ sobre la tierra, y que tiene vida², les he dado toda planta verde para alimento^a. Y fue así. 31 Y vio Dios todo lo que había hecho, y he aquí que era bueno en gran manera^a. Y fue la tarde y fue la mañana: el sexto día.

And ^bthere was ¹evening and there was ²morning, one day.

6 And God said, “Let there be an ^1aexpanse of the sky in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters below the expanse from the waters above the expanse.” 7 And God made the expanse of sky and separated the ^awaters which were under the expanse from the waters ^bwhich were above the expanse; and it was so just as He commanded. 8 God called the expanse of sky heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

9 Then God said, “^aLet the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place of standing, pooling together, and let ^bthe dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 God called the dry land earth, and the ^agathering of the waters He called seas; and God saw that this was good (pleasing, useful) and He affirmed and sustained it. 11 So God said, “Let the earth sprout tender ^1avegetation, ²plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit according to (limited to, consistent with) their kind, whose seed is in them upon the earth”; and it was so. 12 The earth sprouted and abundantly produced vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, according to their kind; and God saw that it was good and He affirmed and sustained it. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.

14 Then God said, “Let there be ^alight-bearers (sun, moon, stars) in the ^bexpanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be useful for ^csigns (tokens) of God’s provident care, and for marking ^dseasons, days, and years; Gen 8:22 15 and let them be useful as lights in the expanse of the heavens to provide light on the earth”; and it was so, just as He commanded. 16 God made the two great lights—the ^agreater light (the sun) to rule the day, and the lesser light (the moon) to rule the night; He made ^bthe galaxies of stars also that is, all the amazing wonders in the heavens. 17 ^aGod placed them in the expanse of the heavens to provide light upon the earth, 18 to ^arule over the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good and He affirmed and sustained it. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

20 Then God said, “Let the waters swarm and abundantly produce living creatures, and let birds soar above the earth ¹in the open expanse of the heavens.” 21 God created ^athe great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind; and God saw that it was good and He affirmed and sustained it. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

24 ^aThen God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to (limited to, consistent with) their kind: livestock, crawling things, and wild animals of the earth according to their kinds”; and it was so because He had spoken them into creation. 25 So God made the wild ^aanimals of the earth according to their kind, and the cattle according to their kind, and everything that creeps and crawls on the earth according to its kind; and God saw that it was good (pleasing, useful) and He affirmed and sustained it.

26 Then God said, “Let ^aUs (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make ^bman in Our image, according to Our likeness not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness; and let them have complete ^cauthority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.” Ps 104:30; Heb 1:2; 11:3 27 So God created man ^ain His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; ^bmale and female He created them. Col 3:9, 10; James 3:8, 9 28 And God blessed them granting them certain authority and said to them, “^aBe fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subjugate it putting it under your power; and rule over (dominate) the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.” 29 So God said, “Behold, ^aI have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of the entire earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; 30 and ^ato all the animals on the earth and to every bird of the air and to everything that moves on the ground—to everything in which there is the breath of life—I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so because He commanded it. 31 God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very ^agood and He validated it completely. And there was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.

14 Then God said, “Let there be ^1alights in the ^2bexpanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and they shall ³serve as ^csigns and for ^dseasons, and for days and years; 15 and they ¹shall serve as lights in the ²expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 God made the two great lights, the ^agreater light ¹to govern the day, and the lesser light ²to govern the night; He made ^bthe stars also. 17 ^aGod placed them in the ¹expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and ¹to ^agovern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

20 Then God said, “Let the waters ¹teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth ²in the open ³expanse of the heavens.” 21 And God created ^athe great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind; and God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

24 ^aThen God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures according to ¹their kind: livestock and crawling things and animals of the earth according to ²their kind”; and it was so. 25 God made the ^aanimals of the earth according to ¹their kind, and the livestock according to ²their kind, and everything that crawls on the ground according to its kind; and God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, “¹Let ^aUs make ^bmankind in Our image, according to Our likeness; and ²let them ^crule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the livestock and over all the earth, and over every crawling thing that crawls on the earth.” 27 So God created man ^ain His own image, in the image of God He created him; ^bmale and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “^aBe fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that ¹moves on the earth.” 29 Then God said, “Behold, ^aI have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the ¹surface of all the earth, and every tree ²which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; 30 and ^ato every animal of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to everything that ¹moves on the earth ²which has life, I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so. 31 And God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very ^agood. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
