Y tú, hijo de hombre, toma una tableta de barro^a, ponla delante de ti y graba en ella una ciudad, Jerusalén. 2 Y pon sitio contra ella: edifica un muro de asedio contra ella, echa un terraplén contra ella, pon campamentos delante de ella, y coloca contra ella arietes^a alrededor. 3 Entonces toma una sartén de hierro y colócala como un muro de hierro entre ti y la ciudad, dirige tu rostro hacia ella y quedará bajo sitio: tú la sitiarás^a. Esta es una señal para la casa de Israel^b.

4 Y tú acuéstate sobre el lado izquierdo, y pon sobre él la iniquidad de la casa de Israel; por el número de días que estés acostado sobre él, llevarás su iniquidad^a. 5 Porque yo te he asignado un número de días igual a los años de su iniquidad, trescientos noventa días; tú cargarás, pues, con la iniquidad^a de la casa de Israel. 6 Cuando los hayas cumplido, te acostarás por segunda vez, pero sobre el lado derecho, y llevarás la iniquidad de la casa de Judá; te la he asignado por cuarenta días, un día por cada año^a. 7 Entonces dirigirás tu rostro y tu brazo desnudo hacia el sitio de Jerusalén, y profetizarás contra ella^a. 8 He aquí, te ataré con¹ cuerdas para que no puedas volverte de un lado a otro^a, hasta que hayas cumplido los días de tu sitio.

9 Y tú toma trigo, cebada^a, habas, lentejas, millo y centeno; ponlos en una vasija y hazte con ellos pan; conforme al número de días que estés acostado sobre tu lado, trescientos noventa días, lo comerás. 10 El alimento que comas será de veinte siclos^1a de peso por día; lo comerás de tiempo en tiempo. 11 Y beberás el agua por medida: la sexta parte de un hin¹; la beberás de tiempo en tiempo. 12 Comerás torta de cebada, habiéndola cocido sobre excrementos humanos a la vista de ellos^a. 13 Entonces el SEÑOR dijo: Así comerán los hijos de Israel su pan inmundo^a entre las naciones donde yo los arrojaré. 14 Y yo dije: ¡Ah, Señor DIOS^1a! He aquí, nunca me he contaminado; porque desde mi juventud hasta ahora nunca he comido animal muerto^b o despedazado^c, ni jamás ha entrado en mi boca carne inmunda^d. 15 Entonces Él me dijo: Mira, te concedo que prepares tu pan sobre estiércol de vaca en lugar de sobre excremento humano. 16 Me dijo además: Hijo de hombre, he aquí, voy a romper la provisión¹ de pan en Jerusalén, y comerán el pan por peso^a y con angustia, y beberán el agua por medida y con terror^b, 17 para que al escasear el pan y el agua, se aterren unos a otros y se consuman en su iniquidad^a.

“Now you, son of man, ^atake a brick, place it before you and inscribe on it a diagram of the city of Jerusalem. 2 Then ^alay siege against it, build a siege wall, raise a ramp against it; set up enemy camps and place battering rams all around it. 3 Further, take an iron plate and place it as an iron wall between you and the city, and set your face toward it so that ^ait is under siege, and besiege it. This is a ^bsign to the house of Israel.

4 “Then lie down on your left side (toward the north) to bear symbolically the wickedness and punishment of the ¹house of Israel. You shall ^abear their wickedness and punishment for the number of days that you lie on your side. 5 For I have assigned you the years of their wickedness and punishment, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days representing three hundred and ninety years; in this way ^ayou shall bear symbolically the wickedness and punishment of the house of Israel. 6 When you have completed these days for Israel, lie down again, but on your right side (toward the south) , and you shall bear the wickedness and punishment of the ¹house of Judah forty days. I have assigned you one day for ^aeach year. 7 Then you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem with your arm bared and ^aprophesy against it. 8 Now behold, I will ^aput ropes on you so that you cannot turn from one side to the other until you have completed the days of your siege.

9 “But as for you, take wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and ^aspelt, and put them into one vessel and make them into bread for yourself. You shall eat it according to the number of the days that you lie on your side, three hundred and ninety days. 10 The food you eat each day shall be measured by weight, ^1atwenty shekels, to be eaten daily at a set time. 11 You shall drink water by measure also, ¹the sixth part of a hin; you shall drink daily at a set time. 12 You shall eat your food as barley cakes, having baked it in their sight over human ^adung.” 13 Then the LORD said, “Thus the children of Israel will eat their ^abread unclean and defiled among the nations where I will banish them.” Hos 9:3 14 But I said, “^aAh, Lord GOD! Behold (hear me) , I have ^bnever been defiled; for from my youth until now I have never eaten what ^cdied on its own or was torn by beasts, nor has any ^dunclean meat ever entered my mouth.” Acts 10:14 15 Then He said to me, “See, I will let you use cow’s dung instead of human dung over which you shall prepare your food.” 16 Moreover, He said to me, “Son of man, behold (listen carefully) , I am going to ^abreak the staff of bread that supports life in Jerusalem; and they shall eat bread rationed by ^bweight and eat it with anxiety and fear, and drink water by ^cmeasure and drink it in horror of the impending starvation, Lev 26:26; Ps 105:16; Is 3:1 17 because bread and water will be scarce; and they will look at one another in dismay and ^awaste away in punishment for their wickedness.

“Now you, son of man, ^aget yourself a brick, place it before you, and inscribe a city on it—Jerusalem. 2 Then ^alay siege against it, build a siege wall, pile up an assault ramp, set up camps, and place battering rams against it all around. 3 Then get yourself an iron plate and set it up as an iron wall between yourself and the city, and direct your face toward it so that ^ait is under siege, and besiege it. This will be a ^bsign to the house of Israel.

4 “Then you are to lie down on your left side and put the wrongdoing of the house of Israel on it; you shall ^abear their wrongdoing for the number of days that you lie on it. 5 For I have assigned you a number of days corresponding to the years of their wrongdoing, 390 days; so ^ayou shall bear the wrongdoing of the house of Israel. 6 When you have completed these days, you shall lie down a second time, but on your right side, and bear the wrongdoing of the house of Judah; I have assigned it to you for forty days, a day for ^aeach year. 7 Then you shall direct your face toward the siege of Jerusalem with your arm bared, and ^aprophesy against it. 8 Now behold, I will ^aput ropes ¹around you so that you cannot turn from your one side to your other until you have completed the days of your siege.

9 “But as for you, take wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and ^aspelt, and put them in one vessel and make them into bread for yourself; you shall eat it according to the number of the days that you lie on your side, 390 days. 10 Your food which you eat shall be ^atwenty shekels a day by weight; you shall eat it from time to time. 11 The water you drink shall be a ¹sixth of a hin by measure; you shall drink it from time to time. 12 You shall eat it as a barley cake, having baked it in their sight over human ^adung.” 13 Then the LORD said, “In this way the sons of Israel will eat their bread ^aunclean among the nations where I will scatter them.” 14 But I said, “^aOh, Lord ¹GOD! Behold, ²I have ^bnever been defiled; for from my youth until now I have never eaten what ^cdied of itself or was torn by animals, nor has any ^dunclean meat ever entered my mouth!” 15 Then He said to me, “See, I will give you cow’s dung in place of human dung, so that you may prepare your bread over it.” 16 Moreover, He said to me, “Son of man, behold, I am going to ^abreak the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they will eat bread by ^bweight and with anxiety, and drink water by ^cmeasure and in horror, 17 because bread and water will be scarce; and they will tremble with one another and ^awaste away in their guilt.
