^aManasés tenía doce años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó cincuenta y cinco años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Hepsiba. 2 E hizo lo malo^a ante los ojos del SEÑOR, conforme a las abominaciones de las naciones que el SEÑOR había desposeído delante de los hijos de Israel^b. 3 Porque reedificó los lugares altos que su padre Ezequías había destruido^a; levantó también altares a Baal e hizo una Asera¹, como había hecho Acab, rey de Israel^b, y adoró a todo el ejército de los cielos y los sirvió^c. 4 Edificó además altares en la casa del SEÑOR^a, de la cual el SEÑOR había dicho: En Jerusalén pondré mi nombre^b. 5 Edificó altares a todo el ejército de los cielos^a en los dos atrios de la casa del SEÑOR^b. 6 Hizo pasar por fuego a su hijo, practicó la hechicería, usó la adivinación^a y trató con médium y espiritistas. Hizo mucho mal ante los ojos del SEÑOR, provocándole a ira^b. 7 Colocó la imagen tallada de Asera que él había hecho, en la casa^a de la cual el SEÑOR había dicho a David y a su hijo Salomón: En esta casa y en Jerusalén, que he escogido de entre todas las tribus de Israel, pondré mi nombre para siempre^b. 8 Y haré que nunca más los pies de Israel vaguen fuera de la tierra que di a sus padres, con tal de que cuiden de hacer conforme a todo lo que les he mandado, y conforme a toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés les ordenó^a. 9 Pero ellos no escucharon, y Manasés los hizo extraviar para que hicieran lo malo^a más que las naciones que el SEÑOR había destruido delante de los hijos de Israel.

10 Y habló el SEÑOR por medio¹ de sus siervos los profetas, diciendo: 11 Por cuanto Manasés, rey de Judá, ha hecho estas abominaciones^a, habiendo hecho lo malo más que todo lo que hicieron los amorreos antes de él^b, haciendo pecar también a Judá^c con sus ídolos^d; 12 por tanto, así dice el SEÑOR, Dios de Israel: «He aquí, voy a traer tal calamidad sobre Jerusalén y Judá, que a todo el que oiga de ello le retiñirán ambos oídos^a. 13 Extenderé sobre Jerusalén el cordel de Samaria y la plomada^a de la casa de Acab, y limpiaré a Jerusalén como se limpia un plato, limpiándolo y volviéndolo boca abajo. 14 Abandonaré al remanente de mi heredad y los entregaré en mano de sus enemigos, y serán para presa y despojo para todos sus enemigos; 15 porque han hecho lo malo ante mis ojos, y han estado provocándome a ira desde el día en que sus padres salieron de Egipto, hasta el día de hoy».

16 Además, Manasés derramó muchísima sangre inocente hasta llenar a Jerusalén^a de un extremo a otro, aparte de su pecado con el que hizo pecar a Judá para que hiciera lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR^b. 17 Los demás hechos de Manasés^a, todo lo que hizo y el pecado que cometió¹, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá? 18 Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y fue sepultado en el jardín¹ de su casa, en el jardín² de Uza; y su hijo Amón reinó en su lugar^a.

19 ^aAmón tenía veintidós años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Mesulemet, hija de Haruz, de Jotba. 20 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, como había hecho su padre Manasés^a. 21 Pues anduvo en todo el camino en que su padre había andado, sirvió a los ídolos a los que su padre había servido y los adoró. 22 Y abandonó al SEÑOR, el Dios de sus padres, y no anduvo en el camino del SEÑOR^a. 23 Y conspiraron contra él los siervos de Amón y mataron al rey en su casa^a. 24 Pero el pueblo de la tierra mató¹ a todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey^a Amón, y en su lugar el pueblo de la tierra hizo rey a su hijo Josías. 25 Los demás hechos que Amón hizo, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá? 26 Y fue sepultado en su sepulcro en el jardín¹ de Uza; y su hijo Josías reinó en su lugar^a.

^aManasseh was twelve years old when he ¹became king, and he reigned for fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hephzibah. 2 ^aHe did great evil in the sight of the LORD, ^bin accordance with the idolatrous repulsive acts of the pagan nations whom the LORD dispossessed before the sons (descendants) of Israel. 3 For ^ahe rebuilt the high places for the worship of pagan gods which his father Hezekiah had destroyed; and ^bhe set up altars for Baal and made an image of Asherah, just as Ahab king of Israel had done, and he ^cworshiped all the starry host of heaven and served them. 4 And ^ahe built pagan altars in the house (temple) of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, “^bIn Jerusalem I will put My ¹Name (Presence) .” 5 And he built altars for ^aall the host of heaven in ^bthe two courtyards of the house of the LORD. 6 ^aHe made his son pass through the fire and burned him as an offering to Molech; he ^bpracticed witchcraft and divination, and dealt with mediums and soothsayers. He did great evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger. 7 ^aHe made a carved image of the goddess Asherah and set it up in the house (temple) , of which the LORD said to David and to his son Solomon, “^bIn this house and in Jerusalem in the tribe of Judah, which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel, I will put My Name forever. 8 And I ^awill not make the feet of Israel wander anymore from the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will be careful to act in accordance with everything that I have commanded them, and with all the law that My servant Moses commanded them.” 9 But they did not listen; and Manasseh ^aseduced them to do more evil than the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the sons (descendants) of Israel.

10 Now the LORD spoke through His servants the prophets, saying, 11 “^aBecause Manasseh king of Judah has committed these repulsive acts, ^bhaving done more evil than all the Amorites did who were before him, and ^chas also made Judah sin ^dwith his idols; 12 therefore thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: ‘Behold, I am bringing such catastrophe on Jerusalem and Judah, that everyone who hears of it, ^aboth of his ears will ring from the shock. 13 ^aI will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem clean just as one wipes a dirty bowl clean, wiping it and turning it upside down. 14 I will abandon the remnant (remainder) of My inheritance and hand them over to their enemies; and they will become plunder and spoil to all their enemies, 15 because they have done evil in My sight, and have been provoking Me to anger, since the day their fathers came from Egypt to this day.’”

16 ^aMoreover, Manasseh shed a very great quantity of innocent blood, until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besides his sin ^bwith which he made Judah sin, by doing evil in the sight of the LORD. 2+@Chr 33:1-10 17 ^aNow the rest of the acts of Manasseh, everything that he did, and the sin that he committed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? 18 ^aManasseh slept with his fathers in death and was buried in the garden of his own house, ^bin the garden of Uzza. And his son Amon became king in his place.

19 ^aAmon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah. 20 He also did evil in the sight of the LORD, ^ajust as his father Manasseh had done. 2+@Kin 23:26, 27; 24:3, 4 21 He walked in all the evil ways that his father had walked; and he served the idols that his father had served, and worshiped them; 22 ^ahe abandoned the LORD, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the LORD. 23 ^aBut the servants of Amon conspired against him and killed the king in his own house (palace) . 24 Then ^athe people of the land of Judah killed all those who had conspired against King Amon, and the people of the land made his son Josiah king in his place. 25 Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? 26 He was buried in his tomb ^ain the garden of Uzza, and his son Josiah became king in his place.

16 ^aFurthermore, Manasseh shed very much innocent blood until he had filled Jerusalem ¹from one end to another, besides his sin ^binto which he misled Judah, in doing evil in the sight of the LORD. 17 ^aNow the rest of the acts of Manasseh and all that he did, and his sin which he ¹committed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? 18 ^aAnd Manasseh ¹lay down with his fathers and was buried in the garden of his own house, ^bin the garden of Uzza, and his son Amon became king in his place.
