9 Todas estas obras eran de piedras valiosas, cortadas a la medida, cortadas con sierras por dentro y por fuera, desde el cimiento hasta la cornisa, y por fuera hasta el gran atrio.

13 Y el rey Salomón envió a buscar a Hiram de Tiro^a. 14 Este¹ era hijo de una viuda de la tribu de Neftalí, y su padre era un hombre de Tiro, artífice en bronce^a; estaba lleno de sabiduría, inteligencia y pericia para hacer cualquier obra en bronce^b. Y él vino al rey Salomón e hizo toda su obra^c.

15 Fundió las dos columnas de bronce; la altura de una columna era de dieciocho codos^a, y un cordel de doce codos medía la circunferencia de las dos^1b. 16 Hizo también dos capiteles de bronce fundido para colocarlos en las cabezas de las columnas; la altura de un capitel era de cinco codos y la del otro capitel era de cinco codos. 17 Había redes de obra de malla y trenzas de obra de cadenilla para los capiteles que estaban en la cima de las columnas; siete para un capitel y siete para el otro capitel. 18 Así hizo las columnas y dos hileras alrededor de la malla que cubría los capiteles que estaban sobre las granadas; y así hizo para el otro capitel. 19 Los capiteles que estaban en las cabezas de las columnas del pórtico tenían forma de lirios, y medían cuatro codos. 20 Y había también capiteles sobre las dos columnas, junto a la protuberancia¹ que estaba al lado de la malla; y había doscientas granadas en hileras alrededor de los dos capiteles^2a. 21 Erigió, pues, las columnas en el pórtico de la nave^a; erigió la columna derecha y la llamó Jaquín¹, y erigió la columna izquierda y la llamó Boaz^2b. 22 Y en lo alto de las columnas había lirios tallados. Así fue terminada la obra de las columnas.

23 ^aHizo asimismo el mar de metal fundido de diez codos de borde a borde, en forma circular; su altura era de cinco codos, y tenía treinta codos de circunferencia^1b. 24 Y debajo del borde había calabazas alrededor^a, diez en cada codo, rodeando por completo el mar; las calabazas estaban en dos hileras, fundidas en una sola pieza^1b. 25 El mar descansaba sobre doce bueyes; tres mirando al norte, tres mirando al occidente, tres mirando al sur y tres mirando al oriente; el mar descansaba sobre ellos y todas sus ancas estaban hacia adentro^a. 26 El grueso era de un palmo, y el borde estaba hecho como el borde de un cáliz, como una flor de lirio; y tenía capacidad para dos mil batos¹.

27 Entonces hizo las diez basas de bronce^a; la longitud de cada basa era de cuatro codos, su anchura de cuatro codos y su altura de tres codos. 28 El diseño de las basas eraeste: tenían bordes¹ y los bordes estaban entre las molduras², 29 y en los bordes que estaban entre las molduras¹ había leones, bueyes y querubines; y en las molduras² había un pedestal arriba, y debajo de los leones y bueyes había guirnaldas a bajo relieve. 30 Cada basa tenía cuatro ruedas de bronce, con ejes de bronce, y sus cuatro patas tenían soportes; debajo de la pila había soportes fundidos con guirnaldas a cada lado. 31 La boca de la pila dentro de la corona en la parte superior medía un codo, y su boca era redonda como el diseño de un pedestal, de un codo y medio; también en su boca había entalladuras, y sus bordes eran cuadrados, no redondos. 32 Las cuatro ruedas estaban debajo de los bordes, y los ejes de las ruedas estaban en la basa. Sus ejes, sus aros, sus rayos y sus cubos eran todos de fundición. 34 Y había cuatro soportes en las cuatro esquinas de cada basa; sus soportes eran parte de la basa misma. 35 Y en la parte superior de la basa había una pieza redonda de medio codo de alto, y en la parte superior de la basa sus soportes¹ y sus bordes formaban parte de ella. 36 Y en las planchas de sus soportes¹ y en sus bordes grabó querubines, leones y palmeras, conforme al espacio disponible de cada una, con guirnaldas alrededor. 37 Hizo las diez basas^a de esta manera: todas ellas eran de una misma fundición, de una misma medida y de una misma forma. 38 También hizo diez pilas de bronce^a; en cada pila cabían cuarenta batos, cada pila medía cuatro codos, y sobre cada una de las diez basas había una pila. 39 Entonces colocó las basas, cinco al lado¹ derecho de la casa y cinco al lado² izquierdo de la casa; y colocó el mar de metal fundido al lado³ derecho de la casa hacia el sureste.

40 Hiram hizo también los calderos¹, las palas y los tazones. Así terminó Hiram toda la obra que hizo para el rey Salomón en la casa del SEÑOR: 41 las dos columnas y los tazones de los capiteles que estaban en lo alto de las dos columnas, las dos mallas para cubrir los dos tazones de los capiteles que estaban en lo alto de las columnas^a; 42 las cuatrocientas granadas para las dos mallas, dos hileras de granadas por cada malla para cubrir los dos tazones de los capiteles que estaban en lo alto de las columnas^a; 43 las diez basas con las diez pilas sobre las basas; 44 el¹ mar y los doce bueyes debajo del mar^a; 45 los calderos, las palas y los tazones; todos estos utensilios que Hiram hizo para el rey Salomón en la casa del SEÑOR eran de bronce bruñido^a. 46 El rey los fundió en la llanura del Jordán, en la tierra arcillosa entre Sucot^a y Saretán^b. 47 Salomón dejó todos los utensilios sin pesarlos porque eran demasiados; el peso del bronce no se pudo determinar^a.

^aNow Solomon built his own house (palace) ¹in thirteen years, and he finished all of his house in that time. 2 ^aHe also built the House of the Forest of Lebanon; its length was a hundred ¹cubits (150 ft.) , its width fifty cubits (75 ft.) , and its height thirty cubits (45 ft.) , upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars. 3 And it was covered with cedar as a roof on the supporting beams that were upon the forty-five pillars, fifteen in each row. 4 There were artistic window frames in three rows, and window was opposite window in three tiers. 5 All the doorways and doorposts and windows had squared artistic frames, and window was opposite window in three tiers.

6 He also made ^athe Hall of Pillars; its length was fifty cubits (75 ft.) and its width thirty cubits (45 ft.) . There was a porch in front, and pillars and a ^bthreshold in front of them.

7 He made the hall for the ^athrone where he was to judge, the Hall of Judgment; ^bit was paneled with cedar from one floor to another floor.

8 His house where he was to live, the other courtyard behind the hall, was of similar workmanship. ^aSolomon also made a house like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, ^bwhom he had married.

9 All these were of expensive stones, of stone cut according to measure, sawed with saws, inside and outside; even from the foundation to the coping, and from the outside to the great courtyard.

10 The foundation was of expensive stones, large stones, stones of ten cubits and stones of eight cubits. 11 And above the foundation were expensive stones, stones cut according to measure, and cedar. 12 So ^athe great courtyard all around had three rows of cut stone and a row of cedar beams like the inner courtyard of the house of the LORD, and ^bthe porch of the house.

13 Now ^aKing Solomon sent word and brought ¹Hiram a skilled craftsman from Tyre. 14 ^aHe was the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a craftsman in bronze. ^bHiram was filled with wisdom, understanding, and skill for doing any kind of work in bronze. So he came to King Solomon and ^cdid all his bronze work.

15 He cast ^athe two pillars of bronze; the one pillar was ^beighteen cubits high, and a measuring line of twelve cubits measured the circumference of both. 16 He also made two capitals (crowns) of cast bronze to put on the tops of the pillars; the height of one capital was five cubits, and the height of the other capital was five cubits. 17 There were nets of network (lattice-work) and twisted threads (wreaths) of chainwork for the capitals which were on the tops of the pillars, seven for one capital and seven for the other. 18 So Hiram made the pillars in this manner, and two rows around on the one network to cover the capitals which were on the top of the pomegranates; and he did the same for the other capital. 19 The capitals which were upon the top of the pillars in the porch were of lily work (design) , four cubits. 20 The capitals were on the two pillars and also above and close to the rounded projection which was beside the network. There were two hundred ^apomegranates in rows around both capitals. 21 ^aHiram set up the pillars at the ^bporch of the temple; he set up the right pillar and named it Jachin (may he establish) , and he set up the left pillar and named it Boaz (in it is strength) . 22 On the tops of the pillars was lily work (design) . So the work of the pillars was finished.

23 Now ^ahe made the Sea (basin) of ^bcast metal, ten cubits from brim to brim, circular in form, five cubits high and thirty cubits in circumference. Ex 30:17-21; 2+@Chr 4:6 24 Under its brim were ^agourds ^bencircling it ten to a cubit, completely surrounding the Sea; the gourds were in two rows, cast in one piece with it. 25 ^aIt stood on twelve oxen, three facing north, three west, three south, and three east; the Sea was set on top of them, and all their rear parts pointed inward. 26 It was a hand width thick, and its brim was made like the brim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It held two thousand ¹baths.

27 ^aThen Hiram made ten bronze stands for smaller basins; the length of each stand was four cubits, its width was four cubits and its height was three cubits. 28 This was the design of the stands: they had borders between the frames. 29 On the borders between the frames were lions, oxen, and cherubim; and on the frames there was a pedestal above. Beneath the lions and oxen were borders of hanging work. 30 Now each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles, and its four feet had supports for a basin. Beneath the basin were cast supports with borders at each side. 31 Its opening inside the crown at the top measured a cubit, and its opening was round like the design of a pedestal, a cubit and a half. Also on its opening were carvings, and their borders were square, not round. 32 Underneath the borders were four wheels, and the axles of the wheels were on the stand. And the height of a wheel was a cubit and a half. 33 The wheels were made like a chariot wheel: their axles, their rims, their spokes, and their hubs were all cast. 34 Now there were four supports at the four corners of each stand; the supports were part of the stand itself. 35 On the top of the stand there was a circular piece half a cubit high, and on the top of the stand its supports and borders were part of it. 36 And on the surface of its supports and its borders Hiram engraved cherubim, lions, and palm-shaped decorations, according to the available space for each, with borders all around. 37 ^aHe made the ten stands like this: they all had one casting, one measure, and one form.

38 Then ^ahe made ten basins of bronze; each basin held forty baths and was four cubits, and there was one basin on each of the ten stands. 39 Then he placed the bases, five on the right or south side of the house and five on the left or north side; and he set the Sea of cast metal on the right side of the house toward the southeast.

40 Now Hiram made the basins and the shovels and the bowls. So Hiram finished all the work which he did for King Solomon on the house of the LORD: 41 the two pillars and the two bowls of the capitals which were on the top of the ^atwo pillars, and the two networks to cover the two bowls of the capitals which were on top of the pillars; 42 and the ^afour hundred pomegranates for the two networks, two rows of pomegranates for each network to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the tops of the pillars; 43 the ten stands and the ten basins on the stands; 44 ^aone Sea (basin) , and the twelve oxen under the Sea; 45 ^athe pails, the shovels, and the bowls; all these utensils which Hiram made for King Solomon in the house of the LORD were of polished bronze. 46 ^aIn the plain of the Jordan River the king cast them, in the clay ground between ^bSuccoth and ^cZarethan. 47 Solomon left all the utensils unweighed, because there were so many; ^athe weight of the bronze could not be determined.

48 Solomon made all the other furniture which was in the house of the LORD: the incense ^aaltar of gold; the table of gold on which was the ^bbread of the Presence; 49 the lampstands of pure gold, five on the right side and five on the left, in front of the Holy of Holies (inner sanctuary) ; with ^athe flowers, the lamps, and the tongs of gold; 50 the cups, snuffers, bowls, spoons, ^afirepans—of pure gold; and the hinges of gold both for the doors of the inner house, the Holy of Holies, and for the doors of the house, the main room the Holy Place.

51 ^aSo all the work that King Solomon did on the house of the LORD was completed. ^bSolomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated—the silver, the gold, and the utensils—and he put them in the treasuries of the LORD’S house.

Now ^aSolomon built his own house over the course of thirteen years, and he finished all of his house. 2 ^aHe built the house of the timber from Lebanon; its length was ¹a hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits, on four rows of cedar pillars with cedar beams on the pillars. 3 And it was paneled with cedar above the side chambers which were on the forty-five pillars, fifteen in each row. 4 There were artistic window frames in three rows, and window was opposite window at three ¹intervals. 5 And all the doorways and doorposts had squared artistic frames, and window was opposite window at three ¹intervals.

6 Then he made ^athe hall of pillars; its length was ¹fifty cubits and its width thirty cubits, and a porch was in front of them and pillars and a ^bthreshold in front of them.

7 And he made the hall of the ^athrone where he was to judge, the hall of judgment, and ^bit was paneled with cedar from floor to floor.

9 All of these were made of valuable stones, of stone cut according to measure, sawed with saws, inside and outside; even from the foundation to the ¹coping, and from the outside to the large courtyard.

10 And the foundation was of valuable stones, large stones, stones of ¹ten cubits and stones of eight cubits. 11 And above were valuable stones, cut according to measure, and cedar. 12 So ^athe large courtyard all around had three rows of cut stone and a row of cedar beams as well as the inner courtyard of the house of the LORD, and ^bthe porch of the house.

13 Now ^aKing Solomon sent word and had Hiram brought from Tyre. 14 ^aHe was a widow’s son from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, an artisan in bronze; and ^bhe was filled with wisdom, skill, and knowledge for doing any work in bronze. So he came to King Solomon and ^cperformed all his work.

So the work of the pillars was finished.

23 ^aHe also made the ¹Sea of ^bcast metal ²ten cubits from brim to brim, circular in shape, and its height was five cubits, and ³it was ⁴thirty cubits in circumference. 24 Under its brim ^agourds went around encircling it ten to a cubit, ^bcompletely surrounding the Sea; the gourds were in two rows, cast ¹with the rest. 25 ^aIt was standing on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east; and the Sea was set on top of them, and all their rear parts turned inward. 26 And it was a ¹hand width thick, and its brim was made like the brim of a cup, like a lily blossom; it could hold ²two thousand baths.

27 Then ^ahe made the ten stands of bronze; the length of each stand was ¹four cubits, its width four cubits, and its height was three cubits. 28 This was the design of the stands: they had borders, that is, borders between the crossbars, 29 and on the borders which were between the crossbars were lions, oxen, and cherubim; and on the crossbars there was a pedestal above, and beneath the lions and oxen were wreaths of hanging work. 30 Now each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles, and its four feet had supports; beneath the basin were cast supports with wreaths at each side. 31 And its opening inside the crown at the top was a ¹cubit, and its opening was round like the design of a pedestal, a cubit and a half; and on its opening also there were engravings, and their borders were square, not round. 32 The four wheels were underneath the borders, and the axles of the wheels were on the stand. And the height of a wheel was a cubit and a half. 33 The workmanship of the wheels was like the workmanship of a chariot wheel. Their axles, their rims, their spokes, and their hubs were all cast. 34 Now there were four supports at the four corners of each stand; its supports were part of the stand itself. 35 And on the top of the stand there was a circular form ¹half a cubit high, and on the top of the stand its ²stays and its borders were part of it. 36 And he engraved on the plates of its stays and on its borders cherubim, lions, and palm trees, as there was clear space on each, with wreaths all around. 37 ^aHe made the ten stands like this: all of them had the ¹same casting, ²same measure, and ³same form.

38 ^aAnd he made ten basins of bronze, ¹each holding ²forty baths; each basin was ³four cubits, and on each of the ten stands was one basin. 39 Then he placed the stands, five on the right side of the house and five on the left side of the house; and he set the ¹Sea of cast metal on the right side of the house eastward toward the south.

40 Now Hiram made the basins and the shovels and the bowls. So Hiram finished doing all the work which he performed for King Solomon in the house of the LORD: 41 the two pillars and the two bowls of the capitals which were on the top of the ^atwo pillars, and the two lattices to cover the two bowls of the capitals which were on the top of the pillars; 42 and the ^afour hundred pomegranates for the two lattices, two rows of pomegranates for each lattice to cover the two bowls of the capitals which were on the tops of the pillars; 43 and the ten stands with the ten basins on the stands; 44 and ^athe one ¹Sea and the twelve oxen under the Sea; 45 and ^athe buckets, the shovels, and the bowls; indeed, all these utensils which Hiram made for King Solomon in the house of the LORD were of polished bronze. 46 ^aThe king had them cast in the plain of the Jordan, in the clay ground between ^bSuccoth and ^cZarethan. 47 However, Solomon left all the utensils unweighed, because they were too many; ^athe weight of the bronze could not be determined.

48 Solomon also made all the furniture that was in the house of the LORD: ^athe golden altar and the golden table on which was set the ^bbread of the Presence; 49 and the lampstands of pure gold, five on the right side and five on the left, in front of the inner sanctuary; and ^athe flowers, the lamps, and the tongs, of gold; 50 also the cups, the ¹shears, the bowls, the ladles, and the ^afirepans, of pure gold; and the hinges both for the doors of the inner house, the Most Holy Place, and for the doors of the house, that is, for the main room, of gold.

51 ^aSo all the work that King Solomon performed in the house of the LORD was finished. And ^bSolomon brought in the offerings vowed by his father David, the silver and the gold and the utensils, and he put them in the treasuries of the house of the LORD.

27 Then ^ahe made the ten stands of bronze; the length of each stand was four cubits and its width four cubits and its height three cubits. 28 This was the design of the stands: they had borders, even borders between the ¹frames, 29 and on the borders which were between the ¹frames were lions, oxen and cherubim; and on the ²frames there was a pedestal above, and beneath the lions and oxen were wreaths of hanging work. 30 Now each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles, and its four feet had supports; beneath the basin were cast supports with wreaths at each side. 31 Its opening inside the crown at the top was a cubit, and its opening was round like the design of a pedestal, a cubit and a half; and also on its opening there were engravings, and their borders were square, not round. 32 The four wheels were underneath the borders, and the axles of the wheels were on the stand. And the height of a wheel was a cubit and a half. 33 The workmanship of the wheels was like the workmanship of a chariot wheel. Their axles, their rims, their spokes, and their hubs were all cast. 34 Now there were four supports at the four corners of each stand; its supports were part of the stand itself. 35 On the top of the stand there was a circular form half a ¹cubit high, and on the top of the stand its ²stays and its borders were part of it. 36 He engraved on the plates of its stays and on its borders, cherubim, lions and palm trees, according to the clear space on each, with wreaths all around. 37 ^aHe made the ten stands like this: all of them had one casting, one measure and one form.

38 ^aHe made ten basins of bronze, one basin held forty baths; each basin was four cubits, and on each of the ten stands was one basin. 39 Then he set the stands, five on the right side of the house and five on the left side of the house; and he set the sea of cast metal on the right side of the house eastward toward the south.

40 Now Hiram made the basins and the shovels and the bowls. So Hiram finished doing all the work which he performed for King Solomon in the house of the LORD: 41 the two pillars and the two bowls of the capitals which were on the top of the ^atwo pillars, and the two networks to cover the two bowls of the capitals which were on the top of the pillars; 42 and the ^afour hundred pomegranates for the two networks, two rows of pomegranates for each network to cover the two bowls of the capitals which were on the tops of the pillars; 43 and the ten stands with the ten basins on the stands; 44 and ^athe one sea and the twelve oxen under the sea; 45 and ^athe pails and the shovels and the bowls; even all these utensils which Hiram made for King Solomon in the house of the LORD were of polished bronze. 46 ^aIn the plain of the Jordan the king cast them, in the clay ground between ^bSuccoth and ^cZarethan. 47 Solomon left all the utensils unweighed, because they were too many; ^athe weight of the bronze could not be ascertained.

48 Solomon made all the furniture which was in the house of the LORD: ^athe golden altar and the golden table on which was the ^bbread of the Presence; 49 and the lampstands, five on the right side and five on the left, in front of the inner sanctuary, of pure gold; and ^athe flowers and the lamps and the tongs, of gold; 50 and the cups and the snuffers and the bowls and the spoons and the ^afirepans, of pure gold; and the hinges both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, that is, of the nave, of gold.

51 ^aThus all the work that King Solomon performed in the house of the LORD was finished. And ^bSolomon brought in the things dedicated by his father David, the silver and the gold and the utensils, and he put them in the treasuries of the house of the LORD.
