^aCuando salió Jesús del templo, y se iba, se le¹ acercaron sus discípulos para mostrarle los edificios del templo. 2 Mas respondiendo Él, les dijo: ¿Veis¹ todo esto? En verdad os digo: no quedará aquí piedra sobre piedra que no sea derribada^a.

3 Y estando Él sentado en el monte de los Olivos^a, se le acercaron los discípulos en privado, diciendo: Dinos, ¿cuándo sucederá¹ esto, y cuál será la señal de tu venida^2b y de la consumación³ de este siglo? 4 Respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Mirad que nadie os engañe^a. 5 Porque muchos vendrán en mi nombre^a, diciendo: «Yo soy el Cristo¹», y engañarán a muchos. 6 Y habréis de oír de guerras y rumores de guerras^a. ¡Cuidado! No os alarméis, porque es necesario que todo esto suceda; pero todavía no es el fin. 7 Porque se levantará nación contra nación^a, y reino contra reino, y en diferentes lugares habrá hambre y terremotos^b. 8 Pero todo esto essolo el comienzo de dolores^1a. 9 Entonces os entregarán a tribulación^a, y os matarán, y seréis odiados de todas las naciones por causa de mi nombre^b. 10 Muchos tropezarán¹ entonces y caerán^a, y se traicionarán unos a otros, y unos a otros se odiarán. 11 Y se levantarán muchos falsos profetas^a, y a muchos engañarán. 12 Y debido al aumento de la iniquidad, el amor de muchos se enfriará. 13 Pero el que persevere hasta el fin,ese será salvo^a. 14 Y este evangelio del reino se predicará^a en todo el mundo^1b como testimonio a todas las naciones^c, y entonces vendrá el fin.

15 Por tanto, cuando veáis la ABOMINACIÓN DE LA DESOLACIÓN^a, de que se habló por medio del profeta Daniel, colocada¹ en el lugar santo^b (el que lea, que entienda^c), 16 entonces los que estén en Judea, huyan a los montes; 17 el que esté en la azotea, no baje a sacar las cosas de su casa^a; 18 y el que esté en el campo, no vuelva atrás a tomar su capa. 19 Pero, ¡ay de las que estén encinta y de las que estén criando en aquellos días^a! 20 Orad para que vuestra huida no suceda en invierno, ni en día de reposo, 21 porque habrá entonces una gran tribulación^a, tal como no ha acontecido desde el principio del mundo hasta ahora, ni acontecerá jamás. 22 Y si aquellos días no fueran acortados, nadie¹ se salvaría; pero por causa de los escogidos², aquellos días serán acortados^a. 23 Entonces si alguno os dice: «Mirad, aquí está el Cristo¹», o «Allí² está», no le creáis^a. 24 Porque se levantarán falsos Cristos y falsos profetas^a, y mostrarán grandes señales¹ y prodigios^b, para así engañar, de ser posible, aun a los escogidos^2c. 25 Ved que os lo he dicho de antemano. 26 Por tanto, si os dicen: «Mirad, Él está en el desierto», no vayáis; o «Mirad, Él está en las habitaciones interiores», no les creáis. 27 Porque así como el relámpago sale del oriente^a y resplandece hasta el occidente, así será la venida^1b del Hijo del Hombre^c. 28 Donde esté el cadáver, allí se juntarán los buitres^1a.

29 Pero inmediatamente después de la tribulación^a de esos días, EL SOL SE OSCURECERÁ^b, LA LUNA NO DARÁ SU LUZ, LAS ESTRELLAS CAERÁN^c del cielo y las potencias de los cielos serán sacudidas. 30 Entonces aparecerá en el cielo la señal del Hijo del Hombre^a; y entonces todas las tribus de la tierra harán duelo, y verán al HIJO DEL HOMBRE QUE VIENE SOBRE LAS NUBES DEL CIELO^b con poder y gran gloria. 31 Y Él enviará a sus ángeles^a con UNA GRAN TROMPETA^b y REUNIRÁN a sus escogidos^1c de los cuatro vientos^d, desde un extremo de los cielos hasta el otro^2e.

32 Y de la higuera aprended la parábola: cuando su rama ya se pone tierna y echa las hojas, sabéis que el verano está cerca. 33 Así también vosotros, cuando veáis todas estas cosas, sabed que Él está¹ cerca, a las puertas^a. 34 En verdad os digo que no pasará esta generación^a hasta que todo esto suceda. 35 El cielo y la tierra pasarán^a, mas mis palabras no pasarán. 36 Pero de aquel día y hora nadie sabe^a, ni siquiera los ángeles del cielo, ni el Hijo, sinosolo el Padre. 37 Porque como en los días de Noé^a, así será la venida¹ del Hijo del Hombre^b. 38 Pues así como en aquellos días antes del diluvio estaban comiendo y bebiendo, casándose y dándose en matrimonio^a, hasta el día en que entró Noé en el arca^b, 39 y no comprendieron¹ hasta que vino el diluvio y se los llevó a todos; así será la venida² del Hijo del Hombre^a. 40 Entonces estarán dos en el campo; uno será¹ llevado y el otro será² dejado. 41 Dos mujeres^a estarán moliendo en el molino^b; una será¹ llevada y la otra será² dejada. 42 Por tanto, velad^1a, porque no sabéis en qué día vuestro Señor viene. 43 Pero comprended esto¹: si el dueño de la casa^a hubiera sabido a qué hora de la noche iba a venir el ladrón^b, hubiera estado alerta y no hubiera permitido que entrara en² su casa. 44 Por eso, también vosotros estad preparados^a, porque a la hora que no pensáis vendrá el Hijo del Hombre^b.

45 ^a¿Quién es, pues, el siervo fiel^b y prudente^c a quien su señor puso sobre^d los de su casa para que les diera la comida a su tiempo? 46 Dichoso¹ aquel siervo a quien, cuando su señor venga, lo encuentre haciendo así. 47 De cierto os digo que lo pondrá sobre todos sus bienes^a. 48 Pero si aquel siervo es malo, y dice en su corazón: «Mi señor tardará¹»; 49 y empieza a golpear a sus consiervos, y come y bebe con los que se emborrachan, 50 vendrá el señor de aquel siervo el día que no lo espera, y a una hora que no sabe, 51 y lo azotará severamente¹ y le asignará un lugar² con los hipócritas; allí será el llanto y el crujir de dientes^a.

^aJesus ^bleft the temple area and was going on His way when His disciples came up to Him to call His attention to the magnificent and massive ¹buildings of the temple. Mark 13; Luke 21:5-36 2 And He said to them, “Do you see all these things? I assure you and most solemnly say to you, ^anot one stone here will be left on another, which will not be torn down.”

3 While Jesus was seated on ^athe Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, and said, “Tell us, when will this destruction of the temple take place, and what will be the sign of ^bYour coming, and of the end (completion, consummation) of the age?”

4 Jesus answered, “^aBe careful that no one misleads you deceiving you and leading you into error. 5 For ^amany will come in My name misusing it, and appropriating the strength of the name which belongs to Me, saying, ‘I am the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) ,’ and they will mislead many. 6 You will continually hear of ^awars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end of the age. 7 For ^anation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be ^bfamines and earthquakes in various places. 8 ^aBut all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs of the intolerable anguish and the time of unprecedented trouble.

9 “^aThen they will hand you over to endure tribulation, and will put you to death, and ^byou will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 At that time many will ^abe offended and repelled by their association with Me and will fall away from the One whom they should trust and will betray one another handing over believers to their persecutors and will hate one another. 11 Many ^afalse prophets will appear and mislead many. 12 Because lawlessness is increased, the love of most people will grow cold. 13 ^aBut the one who endures and bears up under suffering to the end will be saved. 14 This ^agood news of the kingdom the gospel ^bwill be preached throughout the whole ^cworld as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end of the age will come.

15 “So when you see the ^1aABOMINATION OF DESOLATION the appalling sacrilege that astonishes and makes desolate, spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in ^bthe Holy Place (^clet the ²reader understand), Dan 9:27; 11:31; 12:11 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains for refuge. 17 Whoever is on ^athe housetop must not go down to get the things that are in his house because there will not be enough time. 18 Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his coat. 19 And ^awoe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 Pray that your flight from persecution and suffering will not be in winter, or on a Sabbath when Jewish laws prohibit travel. 21 For ¹at that time there will be a ^agreat tribulation (pressure, distress, oppression) , such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will again. Dan 12:1; Joel 2:2 22 And if those days of tribulation had not been cut short, no human life would be saved; but for ^athe sake of the elect (God’s chosen ones) those days will be shortened. 23 ^aThen if anyone says to you during the great tribulation, ‘Look! Here is the Christ,’ or ‘There He is,’ do not believe it. 24 For false Christs and ^afalse prophets will appear and they will provide great ^bsigns and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even ^cthe elect (God’s chosen ones) . 25 Listen carefully, I have told you in advance. 26 So if they say to you, ‘Look! He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out there, or, ‘Look! He is in the inner rooms of a house,’ do not believe it. 27 ^aFor just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the ^bcoming in glory of the ^cSon of Man everyone will see Him clearly. 28 ^aWherever the corpse is, there the ¹vultures will flock together. Job 39:30

29 “Immediately after the ^atribulation of those days ^bTHE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT PROVIDE ITS LIGHT, AND ^cTHE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Is 13:10; 34:4; Joel 2:10, 11; Zeph 1:15 30 And at that time ^athe sign of the Son of Man coming in His glory will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth and especially Israel will mourn regretting their rebellion and rejection of the Messiah, and they will see ^bthe SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN with power and great glory in brilliance and splendor. Dan 7:13; Rev 1:7 31 And ^aHe will send His angels with ^bA LOUD TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His ^celect (God’s chosen ones) from ^dthe four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. Is 27:13; Zech 9:14

32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its young shoots become tender and it puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near; Mark 13:28, 29; Luke 21:29-31 33 so you, too, when you see all ¹these things taking place, know for certain that He is near, right ^2aat the door. 34 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, ^athis generation the people living when these signs and events begin will not pass away until all these things take place. 35 ^aHeaven and earth as now known will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

36 “But ^aof that exact day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son in His humanity, but the Father alone. 37 ^aFor the ^bcoming of the Son of Man (the Messiah) will be just like the days of Noah. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, ^amarrying and giving in marriage, until the very day when ^bNoah entered the ark, 39 and they did not know or understand until the flood came and swept them all away; so will the ^acoming of the Son of Man be unexpected judgment. Gen 6:5-8; 7:6-24 40 At that time two men will be in the field; one will be ¹taken for judgment and one will be left. 41 ^aTwo women will be grinding at the ^bmill; one will be taken for judgment and one will be left.

42 “^aSo be alert give strict attention, be cautious and active in faith, for you do not know which day whether near or far your Lord is coming. 43 But understand this: If the head of the house had ^aknown ^bwhat time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. Luke 12:39, 40 44 ^aTherefore, you who follow Me must also be ready; because ^bthe Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him.

45 “^aWho then is the ^bfaithful and ^cwise servant whom his master has ^dput in charge of his household to give the others in the house their food and supplies at the proper time? Luke 12:42-46 46 Blessed is that faithful servant when his master returns and finds him doing so. 47 I assure you and most solemnly say to you that ^ahe will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But if that servant is evil and says in his heart, ‘My master is taking his time he will not return for a long while,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards; 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour of which he is not aware, 51 and will cut him in two and put him with the hypocrites; in that place there will be ^aweeping over sorrow and pain and grinding of teeth over distress and anger.

^aJesus ^bcame out from the temple and was going away ¹when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him. 2 And He said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, ^anot one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.”

3 As He was sitting on ^athe Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of ^bYour coming, and of the ¹end of the age?”

32 “Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; 33 so, you too, when you see all these things, ¹recognize that ²He is near, right ^aat the ³door. 34 Truly I say to you, ^athis ¹generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 35 ^aHeaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

36 “But ^aof that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 37 For ¹the ^acoming of the Son of Man will be ^bjust like the days of Noah. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, ^amarrying and giving in marriage, until the day that ^bNoah entered the ark, 39 and they did not ¹understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the ^acoming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then there will be two men in the field; one ¹will be taken and one ²will be left. 41 ^aTwo women will be grinding at the ^1bmill; one ²will be taken and one ³will be left.

42 “Therefore ^abe on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. 43 But ¹be sure of this, that ^aif the head of the house had known ^bat what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be ²broken into. 44 For this reason ^ayou also must be ready; for ^bthe Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.

45 “^aWho then is the ^bfaithful and ^csensible slave whom his ¹master ^dput in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Blessed is that slave whom his ¹master finds so doing when he comes. 47 Truly I say to you that ^ahe will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But if that evil slave says in his heart, ‘My ¹master ²is not coming for a long time,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow slaves and eat and drink with drunkards; 50 the ¹master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour which he does not know, 51 and will ¹cut him in pieces and ²assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be ^aweeping and gnashing of teeth.
