The LORD Implored to Defend the Psalmist against the Wicked.
An● Ode of David, perhaps in a wild, irregular, enthusiastic strain, which he sang to the LORD concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite.
O LORD my God, ain You I take refuge;Save me and brescue me from all those who pursue me,2 So that my enemy will not tear me alike a lion,Dragging me away while there is no one to rescue me.
3 O LORD my God, if I have done this,If there is ainjustice in my hands,4 If I have adone evil to him who was at peace with me,Or without cause brobbed him who was my enemy,5 Let the enemy pursue me and overtake me;And let him trample my life to the groundAnd lay my honor in the dust.Selah.
6 aArise, O LORD, in Your anger;bLift up Yourself against cthe rage of my enemies;dRise up for me; You have commanded judgment and vindication.7 Let the assembly of the anations be gathered around You,And return on high over them.8 The LORD ajudges the peoples;Judge me, O LORD, and bgrant me justice according to my righteousness and according to the integrity within me.9 Oh, let athe wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but bestablish the righteous those in right standing with You;For the righteous God ctries the hearts and minds. Rev 2:2310 My ashield and my defense depend on God,Who bsaves the upright in heart.11 God is a arighteous judge,And a God who is bindignant every day.
12 If a man adoes not repent, God will bsharpen His sword;He has strung and cbent His mighty bow and made it ready.13 He has also prepared other deadly weapons for Himself;He makes His aarrows fiery shafts aimed at the unrepentant.14 Behold, the wicked and irreverent man is pregnant with sin,And he conceives amischief and gives birth to lies.15 He has dug a pit and hollowed it out,And has afallen into the very pit which he made as a trap.16 His amischief will return on his own head,And his bviolence will come down on the top of his head like loose dirt.
17 I will give thanks to the LORD aaccording to His righteousness and justice,And I will bsing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

O Yahweh my God, ain You I have taken refuge;Save me from all those who pursue me, and bdeliver me,2 Lest he tear 1my soul alike a lion,Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
3 O Yahweh my God, if I have done this,If there is ainjustice in my hands,4 If I have arewarded evil to him who 1is at peace with me,Or have bplundered my adversary without cause,5 Let the enemy pursue 1my soul and overtake 2it;And let him trample my life down to the groundAnd cause my glory to dwell in the dust.3Selah.
6 aArise, O Yahweh, in Your anger;bLift up Yourself against cthe fury of my adversaries,And darouse Yourself 1for me; You have appointed judgment.7 Let the congregation of the apeoples encompass You,And over 1them return on high.8 Yahweh ajudges the peoples;1bGive justice to me, O Yahweh, according to my righteousness and my integrity that is in me.9 O let athe evil of the wicked come to an end, but bestablish the righteous;For the righteous God ctests the hearts and 1minds.10 My ashield is 1with God,Who bsaves the upright in heart.11 God is a arighteous judge,And a God who has bindignation every day.

17 I will give thanks to Yahweh aaccording to His righteousnessAnd will bsing praise to the name of Yahweh Most High.
