The Reign of the LORD’S Anointed.
Why are athe 1nations in an 2uproar in turmoil against God,And why do the people bdevise a vain and hopeless plot?2 The akings of the earth take their stand;And the rulers take counsel togetherbAgainst the LORD and His cAnointed (the Davidic King, the Messiah, the Christ) , saying, Acts 4:25-273 “Let us abreak apart their divine bands of restraintAnd cast away their cords of control from us.”
4 He who sits enthroned in the heavens alaughs at their rebellion;The Sovereign 1Lord bscoffs at them and in supreme contempt He mocks them.5 Then He will speak to them in His profound aangerAnd bterrify them with His displeasure, saying,6 “Yet as for Me, I have anointed and firmly installed aMy KingUpon Zion, bMy holy mountain.”
7 “I will declare the decree of the LORD:He said to Me, ‘You are aMy Son;This day I proclaim I have begotten You. 2+@Sam 7:14; Heb 1:5; 3:5, 6; 2+@Pet 1:17, 188 ‘Ask of Me, and aI will assuredly give You bthe nations as Your inheritance,And the cends of the earth as Your possession.9 ‘You shall abreak them with a rod of iron;You shall bshatter them in pieces like earthenware.’” Rev 12:5; 19:15
10 Now therefore, O kings, aact wisely;Be instructed and take warning, O leaders (judges, rulers) of the earth.11 Worship the LORD and serve Him with areverence with awe-inspired fear and submissive wonder;Rejoice yet do so with btrembling.12 Kiss (pay respect to) the 1aSon, so that He does not become angry, and you perish in the way,For bHis wrath may soon be kindled and set aflame.How blessed fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God are all those who ctake refuge in Him!

Why do athe 1nations rageAnd the peoples bmeditate on a vain thing?2 The akings of the earth take their standAnd the rulers take counsel togetherbAgainst Yahweh and against His 1cAnointed, saying,3 “Let us atear their fetters apartAnd cast away their cords from us!”
4 He who 1sits in the heavens alaughs,The Lord bmocks them.5 Then He speaks to them in His aangerAnd bterrifies them in His fury, saying,6 “But as for Me, I have 1installed aMy KingUpon Zion, bMy holy mountain.”
7 “I will surely tell of the 1decree of Yahweh:He said to Me, ‘You are aMy Son,Today I have begotten You.8 ‘Ask of Me, and aI will surely give bthe 1nations as Your inheritance,And the cends of the earth as Your possession.9 ‘You shall 1abreak them with a 2rod of iron,You shall bshatter them like a potter’s vessel.’”
10 So now, O kings, ashow insight;Take warning, O 1judges of the earth.11 Serve Yahweh with afearAnd rejoice with btrembling.12 1Kiss athe Son, lest He become angry, and you perish in the way,For bHis 2wrath may 3soon be kindled.How blessed are all who ctake refuge in Him!
