Then the LORD said to me, “Go again, love a woman (¹Gomer) who is beloved by her husband and yet is an adulteress, even ^aas the LORD loves the ²children of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love the ^braisin cakes used in the feasts in pagan worship.” 2 So I ^abought her for myself for ¹fifteen pieces of silver and a homer and a half of barley the price of a common slave. 3 And I said to her, “You shall ^astay with me for many days. You shall not play the prostitute nor shall you have a man; so I will also be toward you until you have proved your faithfulness.” 4 For the sons of Israel will remain for many days ^awithout king or prince, ^bwithout sacrifice or idolatrous ^cpillar, and without ^1dephod or ^eteraphim (household idols) . 5 Afterward the sons of Israel will ^areturn in deep repentance and seek the LORD their God and seek from the line of ^bDavid their king the King of kings—the Messiah; and ^cthey will come trembling to the LORD and to His goodness and blessing in the last days. You shall not play the harlot, nor shall you have a ¹man; so I will also be toward you.” 4 For the sons of Israel will remain for many days ^awithout king or prince, ^bwithout sacrifice or sacred ^cpillar, and without ^dephod or ^1ehousehold idols. 5 Afterward the sons of Israel will ^areturn and seek Yahweh their God and ^bDavid their king; and ^cthey will come ¹in dread to Yahweh and to His goodness in the last days.
